SFGAm riddle

I still think they should name it "O'Hare: Ultimate Flight"

Wouldn't it then be "Near runway incursion?"

Besides, if you name it after O'Hare, the only thing you'll do on the ride is sit on the runway for two hours. Not a very fun ride.

(sarcasm on) So long load times would be part of the theming then? (Sarcasm off)

SFGAm actually has some of the best ride ops (outside of CP & HW) as far as quick dispatches of all the parks I have visited...

Thanks Great America!

Why are you so sure it's a B&M Laydown ?

Can't it be a Floorless like Superman Ride of Steel atWarner Bros. Madrid ?? Or Crazy Floorless at Janfusun ? Both rides are B&M ánd have red/yellow track.

Belgian,

We already have Raging Bull, which is actually pretty close to a floorless...the only B&M style ride (currently known of) we do not have is a flyer. (I consider hypertwister & floorless similar - so shoot me...)

I guess Jeff experienced "stacking" at the worlds busiest airport. :)

From what I have saw it is definitly a Flyer themed to Superman. Of this I am 100 percent sure. Also someone lives within 10 miles ya may want to drive by the park. I think you may see some interestesting things today.

All I need is 4.5 million bucks and a half a mile long sliver of land and maybe someone could build me my very own Shivering Timbers. ;)

O'hare got that title back? I thought Hartsfield in ATL was still holding it down. Maybe Superman: Ultimate Flight took away some of their passengers...

And redman, even if you "do" consider them similar, that still wouldnt stop SFGAm from having both a floorless and a 'speed' coaster...look at SFGAdv with Medusa and NITRO!

Jeremy,

Yep, O'Hare did get the title back after 9-11 (they began to close the lead during the summer even before the attacks).

And as far as speed and floorless - I forgot that they have both at SFGAdv...good point.

Thanks Great America!

Actually looking at the Aiports Council International webpage Atlanta has more landings and takeoffs then O'hare. But Man just barely so.

Atlanta easily takes the passenger title.

Memphis sees the most cargo. All because of Fed Ex.

magnumforce, whats the interesting stuff today? Shockwave demo crew hopefully?

I just know what I was told and they gave me undeniable evidence of one thing so why shouldn't I believe the other.

I wouldn't look for a Demo crew (Ala Windjammer or Drachen Fire) but i would look for a dismantling crew.

Looks as if Astroworld may get a new coaster after all.

If this is truly a flying coaster, I'll be getting a SF season pass as well. I don't care HOW it's themed. I just want to ride a B&M flyer

Such a sad day for me. I'd really love to see Shockwave stay. I'm sure GAm has plenty of room for the new coaster in another area. (Old Cajun Cliffhanger/Power Dive locations) I'm not complaining, because it is B&M, so it will be good, but I'd really want to see a tall coaster replace Shockwave if the ride *absolutely* has to go. Here is an example. :)

http://www.rcdb.com/installationgallery1366.htm?Picture=20

Why do I love Shockwave so much? Well, it was the first big coaster I went on, it's undoubtedly the coaster I've ridden the most, thanks in part to re-rides, and no lines. Shockwave is an "eye candy" coaster. If you don't like riding it, the least you can do is admit the ride looks stunning when waiting by the entrance booths. A small flyer will never have the same effect. Perhaps the biggest reason I'd like to see the ride stay is because, while many of you complain that the ride is rough, I honestly don't agree with that. If I went outside and determined it was cold, and 100 people I don't even know said it was hot, I'd trust myself- because I've experianced it firsthand. I know it wasn't just by chance that a lot of the rides I got on Big Blue weren't dreadfully rough as many claim. The ride isn't smooth, but it sure as heck isn't as bad as the horror stories I've read over the past 3 seasons in the Trip Reports section over here. This ride IMHO was just a fun ride. I don't think we'll see much more "plain" coasters like Shockwave built. Most major parks want cutting edge technology in their rides, and an old sitdown looper just won't cut it.

So in conclusion, I won't be dissapointed with Great America's new ride next season- I'm sure it'll be good, whatever it happens to be. I will be saddened with Shockwave's removal, and until an official announcement is made, I'll keep my fingers crossed for a large floorless to take its place.

Those are my $.02

Just to clear things up, East River Crawler was completely dismantled and is down to a 3 foot stump as of Sunday.

I am proud to say my homepark has 3 B&M's, soon to be 4, hopefully.;)

A 3 foot stump? That definitely means its a B&M Flyer!
