SFGAm riddle

I guese this proves that the coaster wont be over 125 feet becuase they haven't asked to build over that height. If the coaster is, they are taking a gamble that Gurnee is going to let them build over that limit.
It's there and while it may be made in ohio it is still Swiss designed.

All I need is 4.5 million bucks and a half a mile long sliver of land and maybe someone could build me my very own Shivering Timbers. ;)

Note: This is not a complaint.

I really hope it goes where East River Crawler/Power Dive were. If it moves into the Shockwave space, it'll seem a bit piddly.

If Shockwave goes, it should be replaced by something big.

Well, if it is red and yellow and Six Flags is still in its DC comics naming rut, we can always hope they'll call it the Flash. I've always thought that would be the best DC character to name a coaster after since it almost sounds like a name someone would give a coaster anyway.

Hey, I never thought about The Flash. that would be really cool! Unfortunately, Flash has almoat no name recognition with most people nowadays, and the track would probably be red and white instead of red and yellow. Oh, well. I can still hope.

MagnumForce, my point was that while the design may be from Switzerland, the track itself does not come from there. And it was actually my twisted attempt at humor. ;-)

Could Six Flags theme it to Spider Man if they wanted too? I have seen Spider Man merchandise in the shops before so I figure SF can get or already has rights to use that name.

It could be a S:UF clone, but they better theme it right, like with Mardi Gras or the Bayou or SOMETHING like that!

Take it up a notch, Mr. Operator! I wanna feel my brains in my feet!

In response to Joe's initial question, I'm guessing two cars from their old Bayern Kurve! LOL OK, so it was a German ride, but some models were called "Swiss Bobs"....of course Marriott slapped some other name on it, but that escapes me at the moment.

I must try Den's cocoa mixture while freezing to death at PPP....:)

How many track pieces are there? Are they straight or curved?

I would guess that the SFGAm and SFGAdv. coaster are going to be clones. The SFGAdv. is 122' which is just under than mark that would require SFGAm to go to the town. As for SFMM, I have no idea and I think it's pretty safe to say SFoG is not getting a B&M flyer.

Arrow Guy: The Kurve was called Yukoo Yahoo and later Delta Flyer.

And for those of you "whining" about the possible theming, it your own fault that Superman is gonna end up in 'Nawlins. If you hadnt bytched and moaned about Whizzer leaving, the coaster would have been rightly placed in Hometown Square (very remincent of Smallville...Superman's "HomeTown"). Blame yourself and cry yourselves to sleep!

Yukon Yahoo is the right name of the curve.

I think a 'Vampire Flight' theme would've gone nicely in N'awlins Square. Paint it purple and black, it would even go nicely with Shockwave's old gift shop. For the ultimate in coolness they could build some Bourbon Street facades under the ride a'la Big Bad Wolf, and have it 'fly' through open windows.
But then, people will only ride things named after Super Heroes, right?
Sigh.
I do agree that it probably won't go where Shockwave is, or they would've started demolishing it already. Why take delivery on track when you haven't even begun to clear the land?

Now who is to say that it wont still start in Hometown Square and crossover the maintenance road and spill over into Orleans area. Or even vice versa for that matter. We will just have to wait and see. To me this is a LONG time for Shockwave to be down for nothing more than routine maintenance. They could be waiting on a construction company to come in and take it down the nice way. I honestly think that no matter what this ride will not open at the beginning of the season unless we have a mild winter.

Personally, I don't think this is anywhere near too long a time for Shcok Wave to be out just for matinance. From everything I've heard, an axle snapped on one of the trains! That's a pretty serious accident, and one that will take some time to examin. My therory; The trains have been removed for examination and a major re-hab. For all we know, that's done already. But considering that it's pretty close to the time when they'd be taken off for the winter re-hab anyway, I think they're just not bothering to but the trains back on (if they're even finished in the first place). We already know that Six Flags management is much more concerned with having the rides in the parks to brag about than with actually operating them, so ths may not be as unrealistic as it first seems. And, again, they still might be "in the shop," so to speek. Something just occured to me; since Arrow and Six Flags aren't exactly on the best of terms right now, and Vekoma (who's products most resembled Arrow's) is bankrupt, Great America may still be looking for someone to help them with their damaged train. Best case scenario; They find premier helpful, and Shock Wave becomes the first Arrow mega-looper to be outfitted with lap-bar only trains! ( Oh, don't I wish...)

As for the Spider-Man thing, the answer is no. Six Flags only has use of Batman and Superman because they were once owned by Time-Warner, which also happens to own D. C. Comics. Spider-Man (and almost every other super-hero people are familiar with nowadays) is a Marvel character. Universal studios has the rights to the Marvel characters (and uses them freely in IOA), and there is no way they are going to let a rival theme park company get them.

Superb idea. Real theming = funner ride.

Hey, Superman is a national hero. There's nothing that says he couldn't save some people in New Orleans. The theming seems fine to me.

Come on guys, a flier is the ONLY coaster that I don't have a problem being themed to Superman.

Superman Flies after all I mean come on.

As for being in Orleans Place, well it could be Superman: Cajun Crimefighter.
