Hey guys.....Media Day was fantastic!!! What a perfect day it was, a little chilly up north, but sun all morning....just great! The ride looks amazing from inside the park, I really can't wait to see the ride from other angles on the other rides.....
I would have to say I rode in all 8 rows, but of course the best was row 8.....holy $hit, those forces!!! Oh my goodness....my dad and I had the breath taken right out of us....!! Completely wild, and those seats...WOW, is all I have to say, technology at it's best.
All in all, wonderful day...even though the 10pm news was kinda skimpy on all the coverage. Oh well, I got all the coverage I needed today! Definately..... Can't wait till Saturday...I got all my friends all hyped up....

*By the way, in case any of you were wondering, pictures will be posted on Thursday and I was the one with my dad, we're both tall, I had spikey brown hair, with a gray New York zip-up hooded sweatshirt on, if any of you can remember. What a day!!

I am almost positive we sat next to each other on one of the rides. Did you talk to Walter Bollinger - he was really nice, willing to talk to me even though I was not important.

Hey guys, thanks for the pics...looked to be a great day!

Not nit-picking, jpb, but isn't his name "Wintrode" not "Winthrop"? I think you might have typed in the wrong last name as you were naming the pics.

Very cool looking station....once the sod is put down I'm sure the whole ride area will look just awesome.

Speaking of that, was the queue "as long" as everyone guessed it would be? Obviously however long it is, it's worth it....I'm just curious if it IS as long as it seemed it would be.

Thanks again for the update....

Yea, I am sure I got his name wrong. Oh well - if that is my biggest mistake.... Anyway, the que uses all of the back and forth section that shockwave used. That part will be very long and boring - but at least it is covered and they have TVs. But an hour or two of the SF tv will get old quick. Also, I over heard people talking about the location in that area where they are putting a kiosk to sell food and water to people in line. Once you get to where shock wave went up the stairs and over the access road, the new que stays at ground level and goes directly toward the ride. This is the area where they have the cut-outs. Good news about this section is that it is under the ride and you get GREAT views of the ride. It literally buzzes the crowd. Bad news is - unless they put more coverings up, there are only two small sections that will be covered. While that isn't a problem now, when it is 90 and humid, waiting in an uncovered que will make the line seem twice as long.

Cool, thanks for the clarification on the queue......so I take it the access road is "not there" anymore? Or did they reroute it somehow?

I agree with you on the name......I was just pointing it out....obviously not a big deal.

I was also curious....did they rope off everything but the Orleans area for Media Day? Were you allowed to wander the park or were you kept strictly to Carousel Plaze/Orleans?

Thanks again for the update...looks like it was a success!

I was able to walk on the maintanence road and it just stops where the line for Superman is. There literally is a fence that cuts off the road. I am sure they will, or already have, built a road that goes between the outside fence and Superman to use for maintanence vehicles.

Second, everything was roped off. There were people at the entrance that would only let you turn left toward the ride. Also, there was a rope that blocked the path under the train tracks. So it was impossible to go anywhere else in the park. Overall, the park looks ready to go. They even had all of the prizes hanging inside of the games. One other note is, the area in front of Superman looked like it needed a good power wash. It was very dirty. I am sure that it was due to moving in all the dirt and people/vehicles tracking it out onto the walkway.

Here's a question: Jim Wintrode is a bit older than I imagined. Do you think he rides the coasters? I would hope our GM would be a coaster enthusiast.

Buy "Stereotype Be" from Kevin Max at Amazon.com

He sat next to Walter on the "first ride" You can barely see him in one of my pictures in the second row.
