SF St. Louis - Anything going on??

I was thinking that we might see a SUF clone soon, as it seems to be the BTR of today.

But I don't think any of those would fit in Ninja's area, Ninja is really compact. Maybe some retracking of the coaster and new restraints would make a bad coaster good again, I mean, it has cool elements, Loop, Immelman (I can't remeber the type it is at this moment) Head cutter effect, tight turns, 2 corkscrews, intense helix. Don't forget about the next snapping turn into the brakes. Seriously, its a good ride that could be better.

Not too ruin the mood but come on guys, there will be no new coaster next year. (Not that I wouldn't mind being wrong). At best we are getting a gyro. And that is still a big maybe. Also if track was at the park there is only one sit one the west side off the parks land (the east side is the lot of land back behind lions choice) that would be hard for anyone includeing employees too see and that is grave yard #2. (Grave yard #2 is the feild I always talk about thats only visible from ninja. You can not see it from Eagles lift or the haunted hayride, although you can see the gravel road that leads too it.) And there is nothign there that wasnt there months ago.

And what the hells wrong with you Ninja is a good ride. Its practiclly the only ride that I can get on while on break hehehe.

I will be very upset if my parking space is replaced with intiamin track. Or ANY track for that matter.

Like I said earlier... that Orange track is reportedly headed further east... Sorry people... Like Boss said, if anything it will be more than likely be a gyrodrop which would be an awesome addition in its own right.

I disagree, they could easily put a compact floorless in Ninja's location. Who said it had to be a B:TDK clone??? It can most definitely be done if its requested. I think a floorless would blow the pants off of any current coaster there IMO. I do love Freeze though...hehehe

yes, freeze with the lapbars blew away all my expectations....i smile now even just thinking about how good a ride it is.

Well, St. Louis gets deprived again, not in the budget for us. That's okay 'cause I want Magic Mountain to get another coaster anyway. They need more out there and God forbid they get out-numbered by a park that's 2500 miles away. In fact, I would like to recommend that all deprived SF parks just donate all their budgets to Magic Mountain. We love Magic Mountain!

Sorry - just ranting.

But I do love Magic Mountain ;) My biggest complaint about that park is the lack of rides. Yes they have coasters (some are not that great, but anyhoo) they really lack on OTHER rides. IMHO the "whole park experience" is more important than coasters.

And God forbid that Cedar Point would out number them again. CP may not be competing with SFMM - but can we honestly say that SFMM is not competing with CP?

Hmmm.... not wanting to start another "vs." battle though.

Anybody that works at the park reconize those crates in the bottom picture. http://www.westcoaster.net/update.php?id=1023022

Any way I jsut thought it was a nice coencadense. And I know there probly holding bolts and screws and other building things, but the reason why I posted the link is becasue about 8 too 10 crates looking simular too that arrived at the park. I am sure its nothing. (Btw it almost took my parkign spot :-p)

And then the plot thickens -- AGAIN! :)

-----------------

I would be very surprised if nothing new is put in Six Flags St. Louis in 2003.

If SF believes that SDC is not going to advertise Celebration City like crazy in St. Louis, then they are making a big mistake. SDC commercials are shown all the time and some people will just drive right past SFSL on 44 down to Branson to see what is new. I hope that this park realizes that there is some competition between the two parks, even if they are about 4 hours apart.

The hyper is probably out(until 2004?), but the park should at least be able to get the stand-up gyro drop and maybe another flat or two. I am not sure what those crates are holding, but they do look very similar to those sitting at SFMM.

Assuming that the new coaster at Magic Mtn was a rushed, last minute decision - wouldn't 'bite' to know that this new Coaster was originally intended for St Louis and these boxes, similar to the ones at MM, were delivered to St Louis by accident - as its original destination that is.

Just a fleeting thought.

Steve

The SFMM coaster wasn't a last-minute decision, though....it was basically announced several months ago.

(Big) If this is true that SFMM is stealing are coaster and the siteing of supports making a U-turn in eureka,(this observation was made by a fellow employee who also post on this thread) then SFSTL is gettign screwed over by a bigger park. And too that I would have too say. "Screw you CP, thanks for adding another coaster, so SFMM wont have there lead."

Let me go on record by saying that SFMM did NOT screw SFSTL.

SFMM had made plans to add a coaster in 2003. SFI first offered them an Intamin woodie. But, SFMM management and maintenance vehemently disagreed and said they didn't need another woodie to maintain. So, then SFI offered them a B&M flyer clone (the same as GADV and GrAM). Of course, they also didn't want another clone since they just got DejaVu. So, SFI changed that flyer order to a floorless.

Since SF is cost cutting so they can add more rides at more parks, they requested near clones of both SUF and Medusa East. Also, with them being placed in the parking lot, it will also save another million dollars or so in construction costs.

Please note, there will be more SF parks that will get new "attractions". They might not be coasters, but they will help out attendance in many ways. Some SF parks simply need some maintenance work to their existing rides to bring up their quality. I would absolutely love to see Eagle get some work and Boss get some new PTC trains. That alone would be enough to make me renew my season pass right now.

Since this website is called "coasterbuzz", I'm sure most people will complain about the new attraction. But, go to the park and ride it... I think you will be very happy with their selection!

Didn't mean to create such a stir... I was just joking around and talking trash about Magic Mountain. No harm was intended.

Steve

I don't think you will be too disappointed with the new ride - IF the rumor that I just got is true. ;) Don't you love having friends in HIGHER UP places. :)

-----------------

By Higher-Up, I hope you mean 255 feet tall with a 80 degree first drop!

steve

Or maybe they are going to get the teacup ride working an move it HIGHER UP on to the hill bt the Eagle :)

You know those stats (255 and 80) sound familiar... If that is what I am thinking of add 82 and 5,600 to that as well ;)

I'm placing my money on an Intamin :)
