SF St. Louis - Anything going on??

Like Swoosh said, its still way too early to write of the park just yet.. Give it time... wait till frightfest ends. Then, we will see if they prep anything or receive any shipments of parts.

I agree with Jim... The Eagle needs a lot of work. I would be very happy with a total over-haul plus maybe some new elements like a Helix around the 180 turnaround ...And to retrofit the old double up, which they removed several years back on the final 90 degree turn back to the station. (it still irratates me that they removed that)

The Boss just needs PTC's. I liked someone's suggestion to swap the trains between the Eagle and the Boss. The G's would work well on the Eagle, an Out 'n Back with few turns.

I'd also would be happy to see Chicago's Shockwave replace our Ninja. The Ninja has seen its day... 'nuff said. Shockwave may of been rough but I always enjoyed riding it. The first drop was very cool - imo.

I'd like to know what's happened to the Eagle this year... I think I'm about 3 inches shorter after the spine jarring first 3 drops... (it still rides pretty smooth in the front, though)

The Boss had been going downhill all season, but about two weeks ago it was running great... I don't know if they did something or if it was just blind luck...

There does appear to be some kind of ground clearing behind Hurricane Harbor...

Shockwave is a *tad* too big for ninja's footprint....if ninja was removed, the only thing that could go there would be a kiddie coaster or a flat or two.

-----------------

But, what if they were to break Shockwave up into two parts...

Yes, it is a lot smoother this year, esspically since the wheels were replaced (My Hockey Coach supplies SFSTL with Ride Wheels) plus I was talking to him while he was driving me to practice about this rumored coaster, and he said he would call into some of the guys he knows and ask. So keep your fingers crossed!

Steve.. Something I heard awhile ago was that during the Boss media day, the G-trains hadn't arrived, so they put on the PTC's. I don't know if its true or not, but if it is I would've loved to ride then! Lastyear when I first rode Boss it wasn't smooth, but it was fun. This year its completely bone-jarring... Stupid CCI.

-----------------

Yes, it is true that they used a PTC train from the Screaming Eagle for media day. The local Fox affiliate showed a clip of media daya few days ago to help promote Fright Fest. The PTC train appeared as if it track much better than the G-trains. Now I just wish I was friends with Tim Ezell 2 years ago ;)

Trust me, the PTC trains rode like a dream compared to the Gerstlauer's.... I was there for the media day back in the day. If only CCI wouldn't have pissed PTC off to where they were suing them they might have replaced those terrible G trains. I definitely think there were some money under the table on that deal! Oh well, C'est La Vie!

The Eagle Needs some major structural work and for God's sake please remove the rollback dogs on the airtime hills... how DARE they take my airtime away! :) If only the park would listen to me...hehehe ;)

Oh God, here we go again. :) Aftershock and Waverider

Not to ruin the fun here but, is there any update from anyone on the whole track siting or whatever is going on?

Edit: Also I'm gonna try to shed a little hope on this here. If the track that was sighted on the road headed east on Highway 70 on the 14th, if it was headed toward SFSTL it would have been there by the next day. If it was headed anywhere else in the US, it definitley would have been to its destination whereever it may be. Now today is the 21st, if it was somewhere else I think we would have seen it in other news. If it was for us, you know how SFSTL is pretty secretive about their new improvements, mabey it is stored away until after FrightFest. Didnt someone who worked there say that any construction would start after October 31st?

If practice makes perfect but noone is perfect, then why practice.

Please remember its not unusual for parks to store attraction pieces offsite before moving them to the park. Xcelerator sat in a warehouse in Long Beach MONTHS before the ride was finally approved by Buena Park. Since little or no prep work is done it makes no sense for parts to be delivered and sit in parking lots exposed to the elements longer than they have to.

Also note, most Intamin trains and track are delivered in containers instead of flat bed trailers. B&M use flat beds for track and containers for trains and other electrical equipment.

Yeah - like I said a few posts ago, the track is going to my backyard! Jez, no one believes me...

ha

You know it could possibly be going to SDC's new park Celebration city.

Already they are getting a GCI woodie(a fine choice if you ask me) so who knows maybe a hyper is in the works for them as well, then again noone can be sure if the track seen is for a hyper or not.

The only NEW coaster that is going to Celebration City is "Wildcat" an 8-story GCI. Also the track would not be on I-70 if it was going to Branson. It would have been on I-435 West and then turning off at the "triangle" to go south to Joplin and then over to Springfield -then down to Branson.

It did? Damn, must have been a day I didn't go. Seriously though, they could rip it out and put practically anything else (okay, anything but another upcharge ride) and I would be happy. How about some of the Huss Giants?

Jeff-Jeff
Wood - Raven
Steel - Millennium Force
Generic, isn't it?

Ninja? There is no Ninja at SFStL, you must mean Batman: the Ride. That's the only coaster in the WB Backlot. What? You mean there's another coaster back there? Get outta here!

Honestly I never ride that thing - except maybe once a year. I especially do not recommend riding it after getting a sunburn on your shoulders from SFHH next door. :)

If it was removed - would anyone notice (or care?)

(In cyberspace no one can hear you scream)

I wouldnt be surprised to see a compact floorless with a gotham theme take over Ninja's spot in the next few years... It would be an awesome addition to the park (after the hyper of course)
