SF St. Louis - Anything going on??

Xcalibur has been testing it's correct (New Jersey) program where it stops at the top, but I don't think they have used it yet when the park is open.
There are many other possibilities besides and Impulse, Floorless, ect. A custom B&M flyer is possible, if SF could ever afford it, or a Stand-Up could also be a possiblility.

Somthing that would come to my mind immediately is a Guerstler (< or however you spell it) Eurofighter. Ninja has the perfect spot of land for one of those, and it probably isn't too expensive.

A B&M Dive Machine is always a possibibity too, in 2024...

Yeah, they had Excalibur running with the new ride cycle, but I think someone broke it, Lol! From talking with various full-time employees, the consensus seems to be that SFSL will not be adding any major coaster in the near future due to the low attendance and revenue of the park. It is still possible though that they may surprise all of us.

speaking of attendence, tommrow is gonna be busy. If tommrow is like years past expect, between 20,000 and 25,000 people. Not even exagerating. Also didnt I say it was a wee bit early to be talkig nabout what were getting next year?

Awwww......great? Today is going to be busy.....I have to go to work in 2 hours, that really made my day Bossstl! :)
This is the bigest thread I have ever seen.

One of the girls had a cute little kitten named kitty-kitty, the other girl had a cute little puppy named Chris, and the third girl was a republican.

I renewed my season pass online, and I was just wondering if when I go to get my coupons if I will get a big calender like last year, or is it different this year?

The number one reason you know you are an engineer: The world revolves around you because YOU chose the coordinate system.
Well, I dunno about that, but I do know you get your usall coupon book! I saw some guests flipping through em :)

Interesting "business" method. I was under the impression (from finance class) that you had to "spend" money to "make" money. It will be really sad when Holiday World passes the park in annual attendance figures. Considering that SFStL is near one of the top 15 largest cities in the US. It will really be hit hard this summer as the WOF "new coaster" ads are starting to invade the "Lou". Next year will be a real hit on the chin as WOF finally gets their large cap and with SDC adding another coaster (Powder Keg). IF SFStL sits on their butts, they will probably be at an all time low for attendance - maybe they should go ahead and sell the park to Busch now.

I'm not liking how everyone is saying this park is just going straight down from here. First off I think the park has been operating great so far and it is in one of the cleanest states I have ever seen it in. Employees have been nice and energetic, and there have been many improvements to the park, Screaming Eagle being one of the best in my opinion with its retracking. I dont think this park is going to go down hill, and it has great chances of climbing uphill. The thing about SFSTL is it always attracts the St. Louis Locals. People who buy season passes one year usually buy them the next years. Even with WOF and SDC adding new rides in the next two years, I dont think SFSTL will be affected that badly. It seems to me that WOF isnt a tourist attracting park anyway. SDC is by far, but it always has been and always will be. And as Bossstl said, it is much too early to start making accurate speculation on next years plans. For now all I want to see the park do is just prosper in making people's day fun and enjoy the amusement park season.
I totally agree with you Boz, we can't begin writing the book of Revalations in the Six Flags Bible just yet. Here is something cool to think about. Six Flags is sitting on a good deal of money after the sales of SFWoA and the European parks, and they did not add any major attractions this year. I know that much of that money went to pay off debts, but there still must be some $$$ somewhere with SFSL's name on it. (Oh, at least I really hope!)

You know they care, because you can find fresh sealed asphalt, new wood, and more trash cans around the park. *** Edited 4/19/2004 12:59:54 PM UTC by CoasterMatt***

I totally agree with Boz and CoasterMatt it is still way to early to start thinking about next year. Well the problem with the lady throwing out a drink while on the ride should have been alieviated since no food or drinks should be allowed on the ride at all. So it isn't necessarily the guests fault that they do this stuff if they do it one time and weren't informed that it was wrong they think that it is ok to keep doing it.
You know what rocked was the Jars of Clay concert. I wasn't "there", but I could hear it fairly well. Does anyone know about Dance Fest and what goes on then?

For anyone who works at SFStL, i'm planning on going to SFStL the weekend of May 8th. I just wanted to know, is there anything new I would notice about the park right off hand? I've really been hoping for some good improvments this year. And also, how many people do you think will be there? Anything would be appriciated. Thanks.

Well, I am definately not the person to ask about attendence. Someone who has been a Team Member longer might be able to give you an estimate based on the number of people in the park the last few years on that weekend.

As for things new in the park. Both Boss and Eagle have been retracked in places in the off season. Eagle is running the smoothest and the best it has in years. It is worth comming to the park just to ride it. In addition the Eagle's cars have been repainted and they look good. There is a new restaurant that replaced McDonald's. I haven't personally eaten there yet, but I can smell the Bar-B-Que in the morning and it smells good! In addition, you will see re-sealed asphalt and fresh wood around the park.

Hope to see you there!

Little tide bit, it seems retraking/work is still continuing on the boss durnign the week. Last week they had probly 6 or so none SF carpinters still workign on it on the "bunny hill". And Devin if i remeber this friday i will look up the attendence for the days u come.

Hay Bossstl, do you know if the retracking work is being done in house or by an outside company? If it is an outside company, do you know who?

The Boss is being retracked partially by some outside company (who?) and partially by Six Flags.

The attendance for May 8 will probably be somewhere around 15,000 people.

The main "new" thing for 2004 is the MooseBurger Lodge restaurant. There are also a few new games and several general park improvements (new fences, remodeled bathrooms, new pavement, etc.) *** Edited 4/20/2004 10:58:50 PM UTC by SFZIP***

I will miss the extremely over-priced McDonalds.
Well at least they are doing some work on the infrastructure of the park. It's too bad that they won't work on the buildings up in the Missouri/Illinois section as some of them are really falling apart. I wish the park would do some overall work like what is occuring across the state, as it is about time that SFStL thinks about replacing some of the older stuff that is falling apart (buildings, etc)
