There is no chance of SF selling off StL. I don't believe it for a minute. StL was the 3rd park in the chain, it is too much of a legacy.

...though I'd love for AB to buy it - I'd never deny that.

I would be willing to bet donuts to dollars that when it comes to big corporations needing cash then everything is for sale for the right price. Big corps sometimes do not put much stock in legacies.
Not saying I believe or not believe the posts by Bossstl. Time will tell.

JW just my opinion

hopefully we are sold to Busch because it is a great oppurtunity for a great new coaster

Right...because Busch ads coasters so often!

BGW - last new coaster added in 1999; two coasters removed since 2002. More coasters removed [5] than currently operating [4].

BGT - a little better here, got 3 coaster in the late 90s but still long stetches without new coasters [12 yrs, 1981-1993] and no new coasters from 2000-2003; new relocated mouse in 2004; new coaster in 2005, then I bet another long stretch.

If I were you I wouldn't wish that AB were owners...unless you want the park to have great landscaping ;)

That being said, Moosh, I think it's pretty clear that AB:StL would *automatically* become the FLAGSHIP park for the chain.....not that I thnk that would EVER come to pass.

SF won't sell because they're far too invested in keeping the legacy of the three original SF parks alive...(I almost choked on that enormous sarcasm pill, LOL).

OTOH, it would TRIPLE the amount of wood in the Busch chain, and bring in a LAUNCHED coaster...maybe they *should* look into it, it's not like SF is doing anything fantastic with the park....;)

Hmmmm, on second thought, maybe there WAS a little extra something in the salsa at lunch today...:)

I don't really recall them asking for hands up on superman(the two times I rode it before it closed for the day) but by the evening they were certainly doing it on Wild one...that & enforcing the red zone policy.

As for LCD's in the queue's I don't think we'll ever see that happen at SFA....it seems to be a perk that's exclusive to the core parks in the chain before Premier parks took over.

It would be nice to have a "Beer School" at the park... Then again, if I want free beer I could always take the brewery tour or go to Grant's Farm...

Sorry for not replying on the comments right away but as I have been busying with commencement at Truman State and I am in the middle of moving down to Columbia to attend grad school at Mizzou, this was low on the priority boards.

Bossstl - please if you are going to give your two cents, at least spend it on something worth buying. I find it hard to believe that SFStL can't do something about the condition of the park. I give you WOF. Two years ago it looked about as bad as SFStL does now, and now you take a look at WOF and it looks almost brand new. SFStL just looks so dirty. I'm not talking about trash, just the overall upkeep of the park. I remember back when SF was still owned by Time Warner. The place looked so much better than it does now. Granted they have done some minor details, but it is going to take a lot more work to repair the neglect that park has received lately.

Boz and Matt, I do admit that the Eagle is a lot better than it was last year. I am looking past the episode and I imagine that it was a "situational problem." I would imagine that it won't happen again.

CoasterMatt - I will be back, I enjoy Hurricane Harbor, the problem is, there isn't much to do in the actual "park." The place really lacks flat rides.

See you at the park -SS

*Update* In an Earlier post I noted three things the parks needs to "freshing up". Well as of this past week the park has started to rehibilitate that god awful area next too and behind Sling Shot.

Well, its always nice to hear about our park, bossstl linked me to this trip report: http://www.ultimaterollercoaster.com/forums/cgi/forum1.cgi?read=145413

One thing that I really liked reading was about the Eagle ops that night (Me and Boz):

It was a lo-o-o-ong walk from the far corner of the parking lot back to the Eagle, which is located at the very back of the park, but I was charged up and ready to go! And the ride ops were really enthusiastic and worked the crowd like a warm-up comic, getting everyone to scream and such. A real blast!

I was there that day too with my family after my Confirmation at the Cathedral Basillica, and I saw RCTyrant operating the Screaming Eagle. When I went on SE with my mom I thought she was gonna puke all over me because she hates roller coasters!!!

I have not been to SFSL in years, I mean years (when I was a teen) it was still SFMA. I'm taking a bunch of my students in a couple of weeks. Have a couple of questions?

Do SFSL have the fast line thingy like SFOG, and how much does it cost?

I know the waterpark have not been up this year, but want to know is it clean, and safe to swim in? Just have not decided to let them go in there yet.

And anything else I need to know?

Thanks!!!!
