SF St. Louis - Anything going on??

Here are a few more pics of the Evolution at SFGAdv. http://www.alexsplace.com/Photos/Six-Flags-Great-Adventure/The-Rides/The-Rides-Main.htm. The first two are of construction and the last of the ride running(something it does not do very often). If this is the ride in the parking lot, then they better be fixing it.

Any news from the park, or any construction started yet?

Old arrows might be rough, but they are the most gorgous rides to date.

Not much going on, I will have some pictures of what IS going on posted on MIG soon - maybe Monday.

Btw Hollon has updated his website to include some pictures off the supports.

I was wonderign weres the ride veichles at, they didnt appear to be in your pictures. they should be jsut to the left of the pictures.

The cages were not there last Monday when those pictures were taken. All that was there was the poles and the drive motor.

Judging by those pics, and the ones from the parking lot of SFStL, it sure looks like there's a really good chance that Evolution is the SFStL's "new" ride for '03 (at least that's my opinion).

Today I heard on 105.7 the point that coming for 2003 at Six Flags St. Louis......Exalibur and the way they described it was of an upcharge ride.

Roller Coasters arn't fun! They are really fun!

Ok ok we have this ride and its probly going in over by Brit. I have one single solitary problem with it. And that is the location. From the parks point of veiw its a cruddy spot in my opinion.

1.That part of the park already has the 2nd highest foot traffic.

2.Why not make people go from one end of the park to the other (The crowded side (west) to the destered side of the park (back lot)) IT jsut makes more sense to try and spread out the park goers.

3. Axis, is a crappy building, were as the Great escape on the inside I think is a better looking building.

4. The resturants dont have the capacity just the turky leg stand witch is jsut a two or three regestor operation plus there is a lemonade stand. Were there is more resturant over by back lot.

What I am trying to say her is that I belive that the park would make more income by simply makeing services eaiser to access by puting the ride in backlot, were it was in 2002 slow at best.

There is one could benifit to installing at the great escape. It s probly one of the cheapest place to insert a ride.

I am very interested in your opions. And please if you think I am wrong or just babbleing incoherently then tell me and please do it in a structured way.

Hey guys, guess what, I think we're getting a flat ride next year!!!!!

haha.. just kiddin..

I agree with you there Boss, it is a horrible location..

"I often thought of becoming a golf club"

I never thought of the location. Yeah that area back there is always crowded and thus putting this ride there will make the Boss's line even longer. They need something over on the east side and preferably something that would affect the skyline of our park.

If practice makes perfect but noone is perfect, then why practice.

I like SFStL's sky line, all it needs is a hyper...

Yes that area isn't exactly screamin' for a new ride right now. The East side of the park is almost completely dead. If anything, I would have thought that they would have put this thing over in Illinois Section near Tidal Wave, or even in the Backlot somewhere. Boy will it be crowded back there now. :(

Well, maybe the entrance of the ride will be around on the other side of the Great Escape, near the Chicken Resturant. That way, you would have to walk around the ride to get to it. And it just doesn't seem like the former Great Escape area is big enough to have a huge ride in it's place. Oh well. :-) And bossstl, what are you saying about the front of Batman? What's going to be different? Could it be that...hmm...;-)

The middle of the park is the area that needs rides and the new ride is kind of in the middle of the park. I think the entrance will likely be either towards Sherwood Forest theater or towards Calico's. I don't really know how everything is going to work out in the area(some paths taken out?). One thing is for sure that this ride will distract a lot of people on their way back to The Boss.

There was no mention of the ride at all in the paper, I wonder if the local Press Journal will say something more.

Here is what the ride looks like and the announcement from SF.

Yay...something new finally.

anybody know how much one of these is going to cost?

From what I heard, the reason it is being built there, is because there is some sort of heavy lead foundation there left over from the old Skyway that they are going to use to anchor Xcalibur.
Hey has anyone driven by the park recently? Is anything going on? Also, do you think you could see the construction from Allenton Road? You might be able to look over Thunder River and see the old Great Escape spot (If this is indeed where the ride is going). Just wondering....

I understand your complaints about the proposed location of Xcalibur and I do agree with them. But... maybe the reason why they are installing it at the old Great Escape location is because they have future plans for the East side, near the Ninja / Tidal wave sites, of the park. I do feel eventually they will get a Hyper and a Drop Tower and the East side are ideal locations for both of these attractions. Just a thought... makes sense to me anyway.
