Could the instalation of an on-ride photo explain the activity around the ride?
Prowler. Opens May,2 2009.
IIRC PP had planned two more VFD's after stealth/borg but because of the problems with the ride system cancelled the contract after the two rides had already been manufactured. This explains why the two SF parks that ultimately picked them up at the last minute are among two parks located within the vicinity of a paramount property.
Pkd was supposed to recieve what became Batwing, but got HS:XLC instead...which was originally planned for PGA,which ended up with a wild mouse that year.I assume PKI was to recieve what became X-flight but SFWOA picked it up instead.
SFA ended up scrapping their already approved standup for Batwing, which is how many of us found out about the ride to begin with as they had to seek a revision to their overall siteplan with the county at the last minute in order to gain permission to build the ride.

^I have no idea. I only started going to Geauga Lake when Cedar Fair took over.
Sorry bout your luck.
Chuck, who never had the bad experiences everyone else seemed to have at the ULITMATE ohio themepark SFWOA. It's in some sort of limbo right now IMHO.
This is a picture of X-Flight's opening season

2006 - 2009 Cedar Fair Ride Operations
2009 - Walt Disney World Attractions.
Mind Eraser/Head Spin
Serial Thriller/Thunderhawk
Batman Knight Flight/Dominator
Villain
Raging Wolf Bobs had one at one time.
Something tells me Big Dipper had one but I can't confirm that.
Thunderhawk's is now on Pepsi Plunge.
X Factor
X-Flight did originally call for an on-ride photo to be installed near the loop somewhere, but Six Flags opted not to build it after all (Probably because of how busy they were trying to integrate Sea World). A keen eye can even spot the electrical conduit sticking up out of the ground under the loop, and then reemerging on the other side of the fence near the X-Flight arch.
One can easily spot the location where Batwing's camera was at as well.
Looking at the pic I noticed the different path system SF used for the ride to connect station #2 to the main midway...does X-Flight have a similar crossover<more like crossunder> from the main queue to access station #2 similar to Batwing's setup?
And BTW, I didn't mean to imply that you could see the conduit in the photo of X-Flight linked above, which obviously you cannot.

Queue: Dosnt really start till you get past the horseshoe element. There are 3 lines of queue gates before you reach the staircase to the station.
Exit: Goes between the two stations more on the side of the main station at about the 3rd car from the back of the train. down a flight of stairs, then a left under the track segment right before the station as you can see the footer directly on your right.

Could PKI land X-Flight and remove SOB? Or even more extreme, could PKI land Dominator if CF where to pull the plug on Geauga Lake? *** Edited 11/5/2006 3:39:07 PM UTC by SkyRider7***

It has been CONFIRMED by Maureen Kaiser that Son of Beast will INDEED return to service in the 2007 season. No question about it.
Moving Dominator would be a very stupid move and would require alot of work at both Geagua Lake and Kings Island. But if they were to actually shut down Geauga Lake, I could see it being moved to PKI.
If X-Flight was moved to Kings Island, it would probably be placed behind Flight of Fear near the old Helipad. The land back there is mostly flat and it would be a good location if they were to theme it to somthing Sci-Fi as it would fit into the theming of Flight of Fear.
I have heard though that X-Flight is being dismantled. If they were actually installing a ORP camera they wouldnt have much work to do at all on the electrical side and they would not need to tear up ride electrics. Most ORP cameras have 3-5 cameras and two flash bulbs on a single post (Look at Xcelerator's here http://hoys.extremepki.com/gallery/displayimage.php?pos=-138)
IMO, X-Flight is moving somewhere.
The only difference appears to be the paths leading to the ride,X-Flight's path from the surrounding midway appears to begin right about where the helix exit is & then follows along the brake run to the switchbacks, which I assume are in between station one & right under the horseshoe.
Batwing's path begins to the left of the "S" logo in front of superman & just goes straight on back all the way to the station turn around & turns right leading to the switchbacks in between the station & horseshoe.
Because Batwing sits lower to the ground at the helix exit/brakerun flip than X-Flight a path going under that section isn't possible, still I'd like to see a second path built going from the right of the "S" logo in front of superman & around more like X-Flight's setup & while they're at it they should add a switchback on the center of each station platform thus eliminating the need to hold the line at the top of the steps.
