Rumors of the removal of GL's X-Flight

Every body knows that commercials draw in big crowds when they see whats new for that year. So i think a lot more commercials the better off their be.
^True & that's why it is somewhat important for the parks to add new attractions that are marketable to help draw in customers.
My opinion was the fact that during the Premier years, and before, admission was really cheap. During Six Flags years, it started to rise as I see to $40.00. This is because of all the additions. If some of those additions aren't the greatest, why pay that much money instead of 20 some dollars.

Cedar Point has Wicked Twister, and don't forget Top Thrill Dragster, and Millenium Force (2000) were put in over there. Steel Venom is almost the same ride like Wicked Twister except for the one side of the ride. If you go there, why go GL. In my opinion, X-Flight is iffy, and not to miss. The last of the great roller coasters is Dominator. So, Cedar Point people might not even go to GL because what's the point. You have 1 great roller coaster that's different than what Cedar Point has.

If you want a waterpark for some $26, and rides you go to GL. I don't believe that what SF added actually helped the park like X-Flight. I still think it's an iffy ride at best. I don't know how it does at SFA, or the other location. Adding all those rides, and they aren't that great like the Inverter just doesn't so much.

It's going to get what it's going to get, and the benefit is the waterpark. If SF put better roller coasters in that park, they would still have the 2.1 million every year. Of course, they would have to take some out like Raging Wolf Bobs to do that.

When I was on the other side (before), there isn't a whole lot of great rides over there. They should have at least one roller coaster, and maybe some more flats. Now, they have a waterpark, and they sort of figured that out. However, they also have a 3D show, a motion simulator, and big audiotorium. What's the point of an auditorium unless you have a dolphin show like before? That's just Sea World.

I believe that this park could have been something, but some rides / rollercoasters had to be change. Six Flags tried to help, but I don't believe they ruined it. They just couldn't change this park around.

Less than a million people with 10 roller coasters isn't that great. The admission is dirt cheap. The park might be not be the biggest park on the planet, but it's big enough to accomodate tons of people with both sides have things on them.

Now, they are just going pretty much destory the dry side, and act like the park is a waterpark. I would probably have moved some of those roller coasters from other Cedar Fair parks that are on the great side, and added them to this park. How about Millenium Force for Thunderhawk? That roller coaster, and maybe another one for Raging Wolf Bobs could have made the park a powerhouse, and gain a lot of people.

If Cedar Point lost Millenium Force, it wouldn't be a huge deal. They have enough great roller coasters in the park.

This park could have been great as Six Flags has imagined even with Cedar Point close by. They just didn't add enough great roller coasters. They spent $15 million on an iffy roller coaster in my opinion. They bought Villain which is just utterly rough.

Just subtract those, and buy an Giovanilo Hyper Coaster (I'm not crazy about them, but people are.), and a B&M Flying Coaster, and that's great stuff. You can also add a mouse coaster. Add one of them to the other side of the park. It would have definitely paid off.

GL didn't advertise much on TV in Pittsburgh for 2006, either. However, they did put up those billboards 'insulting' Kennywood claiming "The closer park doesn't come close!". They even installed one on Kennywood Blvd (PA Route 837) close to the park for everyone to see as they left the park. However, I don't think Kennywood suffered any ill wills from the advertising. ;)
So have they started shipping the coaster to WOF yet? ;)
Hahahahahahahahah move Millenium Force... ahaha to Geauga Lake... BWAHAHAHHAAHAHaha

Dude, really, whatever you're on, I want some.

You couldn't put MF in GL for one big reason. Height restrictions in that area are like 210 feet or so.

If the rest of the Pittsburgh general public is anything like my friends, then that campaign actually backfired for Geauga Lake. The friends who saw that ad all told me they wouldn't be going to Geauga Lake -- "I don't care if the park is good, you DON'T rip on my Kennywood!"

"You seem healthy. So much for voodoo."

^^Yep,anyone remember the trouble SF had when they wanted to put a hyper in before the park went down the tubes?
They actually got the Hyper approved and built, It was never installed. It would have been a huge start in getting the back side of the lake active as a AMUSEMENT PART of the park. Most people wouldn't even know there are rides back there now.

Said hyper went to Mexico.

^ But what of the approval? Does CF need to go back to Aurora for a re-zoning/waiver/whatever...or is that tied to the park regardless of ownership?

Of course, that's probably moot now that CF is turning the place into a giant waterpark (with a FSS to boot, hehehe)... :)

^ I don't think Aurora has anything to do with the restrictions. The FAA controls stuff like that due to airports.
at least that's what i've heard.

All being said and done (The park has two choices, Improve or fail) Getting this park to feel complete again is the only option I see in improving it's downslide. Make a camp snoopy in the back of the park and bring them rides up front. Add a couple better eateries than that hamburger joint and sub station.

They aren't going to build a hyper, so why keep asking irrelevant questions?

I think that before GL even thinks hyper they need to get some family attactions, like flat rides and maybe a mouse coaster or a spinning coaster. GL can't only have roller coasters. When a whole family goes not every body like rollercoasters. Some like flat rides and some like water rides. Even if every one liked coasters you need down time on smallers rides between the coasters.

^^ Because, we all know that Hypers appeal to coaster fans, and coaster fans will make or break Geauga Lake.
Every body go to WWW.screamscape.com to see current polls on X-FLIGHT right MIA is winning

Like a screamscape poll means anything at all to Cedar Fair. As nice as it would be to see X-flight go to MiA, there have been some pretty good points made against the idea. Considering the rides at MiA (Timbers included) are virtually walk-ons once the water park opens, one has to wonder if the locals really want that kind of coaster.

I did hear there were surveyors from Mason, OH checking out X-Flight, it that means anything.

I wonder if any deconstruction(besides the lights) has begun yet?

what you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard.
Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it.
I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.
