Rides that are past their Sell-by date! :-)

No way, pkidelirium. Vortex is still amazing. Very intense and fairly smooth. There's a few jolts, but nothing unbearable. I still make it a priority to ride everytime I go.

The only other steel coaster with a mid-course brake? What are you talking about? Hmm. Last I knew coasters like Raptor, Kumba, Hulk, Kraken, and various others have mid-course breaks as well. Care to explain?

The only other steel coaster THERE [at PKD], with a midcourse break run. I missed it typing...Sorry, but you don't have to nitpick.. either.

I'd like to add another. I believe that Disaster Transport has no business taking up space.
Any shuttle coasters other than the impulses should be torn down.

And burned, or melted, away.

Beyond Oblivion,

I didn't think R&RC at WDW-MGM was bad at all, roughness-wise. I think I was expecting more along the lines of Flight of Fear rough from that one, but it was a great deal smoother than that. I really enjoyed the ride; its tamed down, yes, and that's because it is at Disney. I liked it, plus I got to ride it before it opened which was an extra bonus. Thanks, Michael....

I don't think you should be bashing your own Pepsi Max. It wasn't by far the best Arrow megacoaster I've been on but again I don't think it's as bad as you let on. It goes flat after opening, just like the real Pepsi soft drink, and it doesn't have that much ejector air for a hyper. But I don't think I'd send it to the scrap heap. I wouldn't make a special trip back for it like I did though two years ago - that was the only thing I rode at BPB and afterwards I wish I would have ridden the Grand National instead.

I beg to differ.

you do?

i second that. you are talking about Schwarzkopf Shuttle Loops, which never in a million years do they deserve to be torn down.
First of all I have to agree with everybody who said to tear down Mean Streak and Disaster Transport, but I have to say corkscrew derserves to stay. It might be a little short but it is still a fun ride. Same with some boomerangs and launched coasters.

Also to whoever said to tear down Raging Wolf Bobs I have to disagree with because once they finish retracking the first half like they have the second half it will be a great ride.

Finally, I think that T2 should be scraped asap, it might be the most unenjoyable ride I've ever been on, and I think American Eagle at SFGAm should go too along with CC Mine Ride.

I loved Rock n Rollercoaster. I agree it was pretty smooth when I rode it earlier this year.

How can you go wrong while listening to some of the best classic rock AND riding a great coaster ;)

And, personally, I think the Orient Express at WoF should be scraped. It's just too painful. I love the ride, dont get me wrong, it just ruins your day when you cant turn your head.

Same thing at the Ninjas at SFStL and SFOG, one word, ouch

ROYALS!!!

Whats everyone got against Mean Streak. Besides being a hald decent ride and rather long. ITs also a great coaster just to look at.

I would have to say GASM at Great Adventure has run it's course. Still somehwhat fun, but has not aged well, is rough, and is brought to almost a dead stop at the mid course break. Maybe some renovation would improve the ride.

As for Viper at the same park, nothing would help it, just tear it down.

eightdotthree-You must not forget about Arrow's shuttle loops! They are great rides! The only thing that needs to be torn down is all those stairs. Put in an elevator.

Corkscrew needs to stay simply because it looks so cool in the middle of the midway with people walking under it...it's short but is a good ride.

Mean Streak is a waste of good wood...maybe if they get rid of the brakes at the top of the lift hill it would be better. After having ridden Wildcat at Hersheypark I was expecting much better.

Disaster Transport is a poor imitation of Space Mountain, or at least tries to be. The themeing looks like all the discarded junk from the last 10 years! Get rid of it and put something worthwhile there. The building looks like it belongs in an industrial park rather than a theme park anyway.

I think BeyondOblivion completely misses the point of It's A Small World. A Disney icon, it was never meant to be a thrill ride. Might need a bit of updating, though.

Disney should consider re-doing Space Mountain..make it bigger, higher, and faster!! Once one of the greatest rides, it's now just mediocre.

------------------
"How was your ride?"

You can't deny, unthrilling though it may be, that It's A Small World is about one of the scariest rides around.

Side story: On my first visit to Disneyworld, when I was around five or six, my younger brother demands to go on the Dumbo ride, a flat you can find at about every two-bit carnival in the US. We wait a good hour for it on a blistering hot day. Hell on earth. Then we walk on [air-conditioned] It's A Small World. Just what a family near the breaking point needed.

Disney will be redoing space mountain. Disney Cali is getting it first and it will be shut down until 2005. Then Disney in Florida will be redone and closed for 2 years as well. Depending on how well Cali turns out. Check out Screamscape.com for the news!

Anyone who thinks the Mean Streak is a good ride should have their head examined!

Mike E., It was nice meeting you at SFWoA last Sunday. Had a great time there with ALL the coasters being walk-ons.

Now.....where did I put my chain saw?!!

Wood-anything else is an imitation

I felt I would have to say this due to the "It's a small world" Comments.

You know how disney has been making movies themed to Attractions? ie The country Bears, Pirates of the Carribean, and the Haunted Mantain? Well my sister and i were thinking about that and decided on a premise for: It's a Small world: The Movie.

About halfway through the ride, A group gets stuck and find out they are stuck there for the rest of the night. The dolls won't stop dancing or singing "It's a small World" Eventually they all go insane and start Eating Each other.

I dunno, I'd go see it.

Another thought that we had was The Hall of Presidents: The Movie, or The Giant Golfball that smashed Epcot!

Sorry, I just had to say something!
