Renegade opening??

Raven, how were the crowds at VF on Sunday? The weather was perfect but there was alot else going on with Mother's day, fishing opener, Race-for-the- cure, etc. Just wondering how attendance held up on day 2?
VF was absolutely dead through mid-afternoon when I left. We were there with a group from opening until about 3pm and everything in the park was basically a walk-on through that time. Renegade was starting to get a line then but it was still only a 5-10 minute wait with on train op. Several of the regulars said they couldn't believe the park was that empty.

BTW, the difference between ride speeds was very noticeable on the Renegade as the day progressed. It was a little sluggish at opening but by mid-afternoon it was really flying through the course. Very, very solid, fun ride.

"Heavily medicated for your safety!"

I stayed until closing at 6:00 and also agree Renegade kept getting better throughout the day. Can't wait for some midnight rides in July and August!
I can Review That Coaster in six words, Tom...

Red train, last car, right side.

^ Aimed at Tom Willis? ;)

I propbably won't get up that way until '08, when I can catch the new wood at L-A-M-A and the new steel at MoA in addition to this new GCI. But I really enjoyed ValleyFair! in my all-too-brief visit, and would like to get back again.

I've heard tale of High Roller going trimless on occasion, give me that *and* Renegade and I'll make a special trip... :)

P.S. Excalibur does for twisting mine-trains what Magnum did for hyper mine-trains. Love that *quirky* ride!

RTTD: Good to hear. Very good to hear.

When I got my pass processed in April, they actually attempted to charge me the difference between the pass price I paid in October and the current listed price. NOT A PLEASANT THOUGHT, especially times three.

But a couple of phone calls, a little research on my purchase history and ten minutes of waiting later, they did the right thing.

I chalked it up to growing pains and figured they'd get it together with time.

The crowds on Sunday were very light but they always are on Mother's Day.
