"RCT1-2 were like a book, RCT3 is like the movie."
I got to thinking and that is just so true. That should be sent to atari. ;)
i'm not sure what to put here..
Personally I could do without all the different peeps, but I like the 3D nature of the game. And Soaked will give it a lot of added dimension as well. And add a lot of things off my want list like waterfalls and fountains.

The only problem I had with that (and its two expansions) was that the scenarios from RCT1 (the original game, not the expansions) were not there (you remember.. Forrest Frontiers, Brumbly Beach, etc). The original RCT1 had my favorite scenarios.
They released updated versions of many of the original scenarios for RCT2.
You can still score them here.

As most of you know, I don't hate RCT3 the way most of you seem to. That being said, I think that is an excellent post SLFAKE. I can totally see that point of view about things not being generic enough. And yeah...the peeps are a little creepy. Especially their eyes!Personally I could do without all the different peeps, but I like the 3D nature of the game. And Soaked will give it a lot of added dimension as well. Its not that we hate the game, we hate the usless (excuse my french) sh*t they put in the game, what we want is better performance, I love the game, but the engine runs like crap, but that doesn't stop me from playing!;)

Thanks for the link. While I am slowly warming up to RCT3 (I said warming up to it... not becoming obcessed with it like 1&2), I will have to look into downloading those.
I downloaded the demo, and the graphics are definately a step back. Even though there may be more options, whats the point in having them if they look bad and crappy?
RCT2 is great. I love its coasters, and all the rides. The main thing I would like is to have gotten rid of the grid, and be able to rotate stalls, rides, station platforms, and scenery a complete 360 degrees. I think that having the paths flow better like you would see them at a theme park rather than in a square on the grid would be much better.
Also, maybe a little out there, but I think that an official custom building designer add-on or expansion pack would be excellent.

By the way, it is possible to remove the grid in rct2, rct, and for rct3 if you need it to add a grid.
Does this mean it is possible to rotate buildings 360 degrees? What about pathways?

Huh? You think the graphics of RCT3 are worse than RCT1/2? Say what you will about gameplay (or the horrible user interface)of RCT3. But there is NO way that the graphics look bad or crappy compared to previous versions. Not even close.

Try a LIM coaster, and just leave the track straight up, but not high - the coaster will leave the track and explode, just like in rct2, however no peeps die. I've tried propelling them straight into a mountain at 70mph, and they still just get up, shake their head, and walk on.The really pathetic part? I close the ride, and reopen - and peeps start lining up like the crash never happened! I don't even have to repaint the coaster like in rct2!
In RCT 2 you had to repaint the coasters?

As for the AI, I've been playing the game using over 2000 custom individual peeps in my peep folder (using a simple application called 1ofakind which can be found when searching the Atari RCT3 forums). It seems like most of the AI problems are totally -gone- when you do this. However, when the retail version of Soaked! comes out this shouldn't be needed. David Braben, owner of Frontier, said that a few changes have been made to the group AI, mostly concerning the way they handle their needs and buy things at stalls, which should make them work much better.
Anyhow, I think you all should give the expansion a chance when it comes out. I'd definitely be lying if I said I didn't have tons of fun testing it out. I really like the notion of betas like this because a lot of the bugs that seem nitpicky but serious to some people can be eliminated before the game comes out. I am definitely hoping for a fairly bug-less Soaked! to come out in June.
