Power Dive @ SFGAm

Why is the Power Dive gone?

It cost too much to run. There was never a long line/no crowds at the ride. Maybe they are making room for something new in the future. The list could go on, but I think it was mostly a maintainence nightmare.
I'm with transfan on that.
I hope they put someting really cool there!

"To overcome the spiders curse, simply quote a bible verse. Thou shalt not...uh, screw this."
"Hey, that looks like Princess Diana. Oh wait, it's just a pile of rags."

Me too, that section of the park need something really good. The best things in the park are over by Southwest Territory.
Though..I think some parts of the park have other better rides..Like I don't like everything in Southwest. I don't really care for viper or demon. Raging bull is the only thing i sorta care for.
I think the Riccochet is good.

Also, in addition of maintainence, and no lines, the ride hurt so bad, also. All but 1 time I was there it was closed.
What was the Power Drive? Does anyone have pics?

While I dont have a pic power dive was a "pirate ship" ride that did a complete 360 rotation just like RCT/RCT2's inverted ship

SFGAMNUT, I like your tribute to the dive, very cool. I also liked the power dive, and really I cant imagine it being much of a maintenence nightmare....Seemed to me like it was a tire spining to push the thing back and forth. Then again, I don't know much about how that sort or ride is maintained, so I cant really talk. Seems simple though.
I have a correction to Touchdown's post, it was a space shuttle not a pirate ship. Honest mistake.
booya, Touchdown was simply referring to the fact that on rct/rct2 the ride is a pirate ship, not that Power Dive itself was. AND for a little insight. The land that Power Dive is on was the previous home to "THE EDGE", and while it had a few minor defects so did the Power Dive. Guests were always complaining about a restraint not working, not that if one didn't work the other two wouldn't keep you in, because there were three, lap bar, shoulder harness, and seatbelt. On another note, it wasn't a very high people mover, with a max capacity for 600 people an hour other rides offer a much better experience at a faster rate. Look forward to hearing the rest of your comments.
My bad. I thought he was saying the power dive was. That's ok though, I wasn't trying to be harsh, just correcting.
Do any of you guys feel with this open space of land that a flat ride will be built or is SFGAM good for a year since S:UF just came out
That's a good question. I would say that building another ride or building there would depend on how successful S:UF is. (income and attendance) of the park.
Well from the countless years i have visited the park, they have never given us something huge like a coaster , then the next year another new coaster or thrill ride , it seems SFGAM always seem to just sit back a year after they open something the previous year, mainly they open some new theming to the park which turns out to be alright in the long run
Good point CrAzedfaNatic, I have noticed that too. And it suprised me when SFGAM got two coasters in one year, granted only one was workin at a time, they did get two.
The tecnical term for a flat ride is an "Attraction". The park has had a history of building "attractions" after a major coaster was built.
