The announcement is MONDAY, February 5, 2007.

They will announce the capital improvements between the hours of 8am and 5pm.

Enough said.

Gee, I said the 5th about a week ago, and certain people insisted I was wrong. He was the only one I heard saying the 3rd... hmmm
^^Is that when all the other parks will make an announcement on what there doing? Parks have to have to make an announcement about what there doing this year or is it optional?
I hope other parks announce their plans, like Dorney ( Mat Racer ) Cedar Point ( Mavrick ) Valley Fair ( Renagade ) Knott's ( seirra sidewinder ) Kings Domain ( water works ) so we should see announcement's by WOF, MIA, GA, CW, and GL. I hope at least 3 make some kind of an Announcements, even though all parks wont be getting attractions to pay for the Paramount parks.

^And plus all those shipping fees. It will cost alot to ship everything over to MiA. Do you think Maverick and X-Flight will be assembled over there in time for opening? ;)

Firehawk? Sounds like someone from the party is leaking...

WoF already announced that they are doing infrastructure improvements for 2007. They are adding a Panda Express in the ORIENT section (where Ragoon Refresher was). They are completely gutting and redoing two more restrooms for this season. They are also supposed to do additional midway upgrades, but it was not elaborated on what that includes.
If Firehawk's the name I'll be the only one in line still calling it X-Flight. ;)

Ride count on the Voyage: 40 Most consecutive rides on the Voyage: 36 Day after thigh bruises from airtime: Priceless
They made it tonight.
The ride is called Firehawk. The track is dark red, with black grey supports. The trains are red and yellow. They are only running 2 trains. The ride will have 13 ride ops and is scheduled to open memorial day weekend. And we are using Gerstlauer trains for SOB. I was right. Imagine that.

I'm not trying to be a prick.. but really... seriously.. why would i lie about the announcement date?

I would never lie.. or post something I didnt know to be true. I also wouldnt post anything the park wasn't ready to announce. I'm a good guy. *** Edited 2/4/2007 9:06:04 AM UTC by DeepThroat***

Deep Thro
Checked RCDB... no news on the front page, and the ride is still listed as 'Unknown'

Checked Coasterbuzz... nothing

Checked Paramountparks.com...I see a little blurb about Nickelodeon section for PKI.. "Paramount's Kings Island premiers the most elaborate collection of Nickelodeon inspired rides and attractions in the world!" - nothing about a roller coaster. I even checked Paramount Parks' News Page, and found no hint of it.

Checked Paramount's King's Island's News page... there's no mention about a rollercoaster anywhere. and on their Attraction Fact Sheets there's no mention about a 'Firehawk' or any flying coaster for that matter.

I also tried googling 'Firehawk' and 'coaster'. - no results related to king's island.. so I tried adding 'island' to the search criteria. The only related result was on pkicentral -- a forum - not exactly the first line of defense of public releases. (BTW, that thread is claiming it won't be called FireHawk)

Heck, just for kicks I even checked www.cedarfair.com and didn't see anything except an upcoming conference call on February 8th. Where is this mythical announcement they supposedly made last night that you were "right" about?

I have no doubt in my mind that you may have gotten the information... perhaps from an internal employee party that I've been hearing rumor about. But it doesn't look as though they've made a public announcement yet. And it's 7:41am on 2/4/2007. Oh, and the key word here is 'PUBLIC' announcement.

That's the fun thing about speculation, even though rumors are rumors some of them are actually true. Still, it's fun to watch threads like this go wild on something that is already "old news" even though it hasn't been "officially" announced by the park. ;)

Ah, you just have the love the proverbial "grapevine." ;) I find it hysterical. The lady that represented Cedar Fair at Eastcoaster yesterday (I already forgot her name) didn't touch on the subject, even though I am sure by that time half the people there already knew and was still struggling with the life-changing decision of whether to count it as a new credit or not. ;)

Who first said it was FireHawk.

Well the USPTM office doesn't have any trademarks filed for Firehawk for an amusement device so that won't help confirm or deny there either. :(

The only reason I posted something about the name "firehawk" last night is b/c someone posted over at P-Buzz that they were apprantly at the "returner's party" at Kings Island, and that this is what was revealed. Of course it's only speculation...:)
Im sure the PKI Returnee party is listed all over the net. They announced to them last night that it was firehawk.
