PKI major announcement soon.

^ The announcement is the 5th, not the 3rd.. First, I don't think they would announce on a Saturday. Second, I was told directly by those preparing the press release.
What parks will be on the 5th

CORRECTION: Well, my PKI cred is definitely going into the crapper on this one.

Yes, loyal buzzers, it would seem that I should stick to getting my news here first and not try and create any new headlines myself. My years as a reporter notwithstanding, the SOURCE WAS ERRONEOUS as to where the new re-jiggered X-FLIGHT is, indeed, going.

The ride IS TRULY BEING INSTALLED next to FoF, as many others have stated here previously. I am sorry to have taken us off on a wild goose (or steel beam) chase these last few days. They ARE building retainer walls next to TOP GUN and there is something coming in back there eventually but to offer anything more than this at this point in the game would be merely speculation on my part.

As someone had previously stated, wired had indeed gotten crossed and the information was backwards.

Mr. Williams begs your forgiveness and offers his humblest mea culpa to the board.

Ahhhh, there, I've said it.

Hopefully my "currency" and stock will not go into free fall. . .

Hey Barry, at least you got X-flight headed to the right park, which is worlds better than the delusions of coasterkid and his MiA conspiracy. A liitle speculation never hurt anyone.

I just got back from No Coaster Con. I have the latest word from Maurene at Kings Island. She spoke of their new attraction (X-flight) only in the hypothedical, but It was more than I expected. I asked if their "hypothetical" ride (x-flight) and or Son of Beast would be open by Coaster Con and she said that the "hypothetical ride would definatly be open by then but she can't even speculate on SOB yet. Apparently they have narrowed down the manufacture of the SOB trains to 2 different companys but have still yet to decide. She said that final decisions on what would be done in place of the loop wouldn't be finalized until the train manufacture and concept are decided. She did say however that it would be open in the 2007 season.

They will be announcing it on the 3rd at a "season kick off party" being held for their employees. I would imagine there will be some press there. Probably some local radio stations.

Don't doubt anything I say... I only post things I know to be true... and I know a hell of a lot more than I post.

Just My 2 Cents.

Maureen Kaiser said at Coaster Con this past Saturday in her words, "There will be an announcement the Day after the Colts beat the Bears." Being in just South of Chicago at the time, that statement didn't go over to well. But everyone took that to mean the 5th. Maybe the in house announcement will be on the 3rd. But, I don't think any GP will know until Monday. If the Press is there for an announcement on Saturday, I would think they'd be told not to print anything until Monday as well.

Wow, we have a new "Deep Throat" amongst us. . .wonder if he'll get the kind of speculation that the original got. . .

This should prove to be an AWESOME GUESSING GAME with this crowd. . .

Your arrival is fortuitous for all of us. . .

Of course, somebody knows who you are. . .

Somebody always knows. . .

Are you part of SECRET! or just a new diversion?

Is it really smoke and mirrors???

3 months? We have running jokes here that are years old.

Oh, I guess then there wil be *no* announcement after all. :)

Bears 28 - Colts 24

Coasterkid, It's one thing to say something in wishful thinking once or twice. We all do it every now and again.

It's another to start multiple threads on the topic, insist it's happening, declare it as news on your own website, defy/ignore everyone else's logic, and create several screen names to prove a point. Oh yeah, and need I forget that it wasn't just about one ride.. EVERY ride was apparently heading to MiA, X-Flight was just the MOST vocal one you were talking about.

That kinda stuff gets remembered 'round here.

Of course, it's all water under the tree at this point.

^^ LOL, expecting a Gator (Rex in this case) to lose in ANYTHING these days...just seems like a bad bet. At this point, I'd be tempted to pick Spurrier over Tiger Woods...ROFL! :)

Since it now appears VERY likely that the *extra* 2 MFlyers are not traveling beyong the PA State Line, I'm *concerned* about the trains that are going to be running on Sonny...really, most of the HOPES I had for improvement were based on new trains. PTC's would be a VAST improvement over what's there now....but I'm kinda doubtful about those too. Trackwork/rehab is great, but without the right trains for the job, any improvements are fleeting in nature.

edit: why when I use the ^arrows^ does someone ALWAYS post while I'm posting....makes me look slow in the cabeza... :)

Sorry, gator.. didn't mean to bust the arrow reference.. :)

Anywho, as for the trains - I wouldn't give up hope just yet. From the rumors that have been floating around the threads recently, it sounds as though KI hasn't decided on trains for Sonny (what are they waiting for? lol!). So that doesn't mean that GCI wouldn't get a surprise order for 2 (or 3) more trains, with customizations, to be delivered around mid-June.

I think it's a given that SOB won't open with the park at this point, so what's another month and a half? Heck, if it means MFlyers, I'll wait until 2008 to get the elusive SOB credit.

Based on what Tom Rebbie said Saturday, they most likely will not be PTC's. He can't meet the schedule they are looking for. And He doesn't want to sacrafice quality just to meet a schedule.

Maureen Kaiser from KI did in fact say that a Train Mfg. had not been chosen yet.

Sounds like it's time to call in our very own Deep Throat to get to the bottom of this one. . .

It's the truth.. no trains have been PURCHASED yet.
Not that it matters much.
And why would I lie about the announcment date?
It's on saturday. But I could care less. I know what it is, where it's going, what it will be called... hell I know what colour the track will be painted. But there's really no point in debating the subject. One of us will be wrong come saturday. And I promise to hop on here around 11 or so to say Goodnight.
