PKI in 2003

EminEm,

Why the sudden name change? Maybe you're not supposed to be here. Maybe your account was mysteriously deleted and you decided to come back with a new name. Maybe that is a chilish thing to do. We should change the title of this topic to "pkifanatic is childish". You have absolutely ruined a perfectly good topic.

Oh, I'm supposed to be here. And a childish thing to do was ban my old name. Or ban me period. Another "childish" act is you joking around about changing the topic to "pkifanatic is childish."

And geez...you talk about me ruining a good post. Atleast I stayed on topic, most of the time. I didn't ruin the post I gave it my views which is allowed. I cannot help it you are all biased.

Now to stay on topic... If PKI gets a frisbee...then they should take the same approach they did with TRTR. Because some people will be very dissapointed PKI didn't get a "coaster." I say if they get a flat...then put it in another box and theme it. The coolest part about TRTR is it's them. But, I dunno how you can theme a fristbee.

I rather see something like a Huss Delirium in the Action Zone or water park next year instead of a new coaster at PKI. I may love coasters, but coasters aren't everything. Take a look around the park next time. Just a guess, you should find other things there besides coasters ;)

EminEm (if that is your real name),

If you were banned, you should realize that the person who banned you doesn't want you posting here anymore. But I am not the one who says what goes and what doesn't go around here and if the mods want to keep you around, so be it. I'm over it.

Now I am prepaired to respond to the topic.

I have been itching for a Huss giant ride ever since they were introduced. I haven't been able to get out to PKI for TRTR yet but I am looking forward to the day I can. If they have another Huss giant ride added next year, I will be twice as excited.

I do like what EminEm (if that is his real name:)) said about putting a Frisbee in a box and theming it. That would be very cool. I doubt that it would be themed to "dust" however (just kidding. I appoligize, I just HAD to say it. I am just picking on you, pkifana-err I mean EminEm) What could that theme be though?

I think that PKI know exactly what they are doing. Whatever they build, it will be exactly what they need.

Oh, and Shaggy, Your speech was beautiful. You should be PKI's spokesperson.

Don't go calling people biased. Most everyone here gave very good reasons why PKI getting a frisbee is a good move. Bias may be a factor (I am biased towards PKI, it's where I fell in love with coasters), but the reasons are still valid.

On the other hand. A frisbee in a box? Josh, you care to comment on this one? Where's Jeffery Seibert when you need him? LMAO! I've never seen a frisbee, but wouldn't that have to be one big a$$ box? It would be neat though. I don't think it will happen, but it would be cool.

Eric

P.S. Theme it to a crack house. (Inside joke) ;)

O.K. lets face it. If the frisbee goes in KC's spot, putting a building around it would be a dumb idea but only because of it's location. Putting it in a"box" would make it look out of place and kind of tacky.

I don't like the idea of it just being there. Drop Zone fits...but a giant frisbee doesn't. It needs to be themed.

I doubt a box with a frisbee in it would fit in that area. I'm thinking this box would have to be bigger than TR:TR's box. It reaches an anle of 120* and at that point is 137 ft in the air. It's needs greater than 150 ft of width as well. It's huge. If it's a giant that is. Everyone should download the video off of Huss's site.

I am starting to like the frisbee idea but I cannot see it fitting in with the rest of the park. I think it is gonna kinda look out of place and tacky.

thinking with FoF and TR:TR, (and Sonny, lol) PKI has enough "boxes" for now....let's keep some rides in the outdoors, shall we....

bill, loves the sun and all, but thinks Cool Zones and fans and misters ROCK! (BGT put up an excellent misted walkway by Kumba this year)...:) The hanging plants, etc. really do keep you cool there, even though the park is a little..."downtown". Coasters aren't *quite* the only improvements a park could make that I'd like...

They can easily make it fit in with Action Zone. You have to admit, they made TR:TR fit right into Rivertown. They did an amazing job too.

I agree. I think the park did a great job with adding TR:TR to that area. Yes, we all know the "big box" can be seen but if you take a look around the front area, you can easily see how seemless the whole front of the attraction is.

I could easily see a large swinging flat ride swopping over those walking into Action Zone. That would be a sweet visual statement!

Ok, I have to jump in. A giant frisbee in a box. That wouldn't be to bad of an idea, for the locals. Let's look at another approach here. PKI builds TR:TR people love it talk about it and it is featured in some amusement shows on TV. Less than a year after it's opening it is already seeing fewer new riders. Most people are re-rides. They build another ride like that and the same thing will happen. In the process they spend millions in advertising. They build a coaster that is a record breaker in some form and they score big with the media. You have the "Golden Ticket" that parks covet and hundreds of coaster top tens. Look at Millenium Force at CP for example. People talk and talk about this ride, it is 2 years old and is still the number 1 steel coaster. I was a large investment that has paid off. It gets tons of free publicity and in turn the park sees high attendance and fanfare for the ride. PKI is a nice family park, but the only real standout they have is the Kids Area. They need a record breaking coaster if they want to stay a premium park.
Idiesman says that PKI needs a record breaking coaster if the park wants to stay a premium park. PKI is already a premium park.

Building the biggest and fastest coasters don't always mean great rides. You do realize that some things are better in smaller packages. Look at Mean Streak and Mantis - the biggest of their type when they first debuted but today aren't all that great.

In PKI's case, look at Sonny. It's the biggest piece of wood ever built but is not the ride that keeps PKI at a premium. Shoot, Papa, after 20 plus years, is still THE ride at the park even though they added a new brake system. Papa is still THE ride that draws be back to PKI again and again.

The park needs more flat rides.....period. A new coaster will eventually be built in the near future. And even when it is built, I'm sure there will be many of us out there complaining it's not by such and such manufacturer and does not reach the heights we were hoping for.

Oh course we'll complain. I don't think there's ever been a ride that people didn't! But I'm sure when they DO build that coaster no matter what it'll kick major @$$!!!!!

Just curious on how you got your data. Every time I have been to the park this year, Tomb Raider seemes to be the most popular attraction due to it's full quene.

While Millennium Force may have worked for Cedar Point, you have to remember that Cedar Point's whole 'thing' is bigger coasters. PKI looked at things differently and realized that building another large record breaking coaster was not what they needed at this time.

PKI is a nice family park, but the only real standout they have is the Kids Area. They need a record breaking coaster if they want to stay a premium park.

The last time I checked, families brought in a lot of cash for parks. The last record breaking coaster PKI put in didn't exactly take off as expected due to problems with the ride so I can easily see why they would want to look at things differently.

When the time comes, I know PKI will add another coaster but I honestly don't expect it to be as large as some are hoping it will be.

First off, I am not ldieman (LOL). ldiesman. I think the same way, but I get bashed for making my opinion known. But, I want you to know I agree. Second. X-Factor...the Beast is finished. A new coaster took its place and it happens to be it's "son." Son of Beast is PKI. The Beast is over rated and is done.

Now, as for the frisbee. A frisbee in a box would be a cool idea but I don't see it happening. A frisbee outside a box is just another flat.

You know "pkifanatic" aka "EminEm", several people have tried to debate honestly since this post got turned around. Please don't turn it back into what it was before. You were banned...go away.

(and I feel I must add this since I was nice to you earlier)

How original is "EminEm"???

You can attack me all you want...my screen name is Matt...which is my real name..why hide? So to pre-empt your response, yes my name is original...it is mine.

Waiting for the CP announcement to be made so that about 1000+ posts will be made complaining about it.

Not to start that whole issue up again but I think the reason so many people seemed angry at you was because of the insults you made to people who were trying to show you a different way of seeing things politely.

A frisbee outside a box is just another flat.

I don't know how many Frisbee's you have ridden, but I found the 4 versions I have ridden to be one of the best rides out there. Of course, those set on PKI getting "just a Frisbee" are in for a surprise IMO.

Tell your buddies that. They started the whole mess. Oh, but go ahead and not think that.

Oh, it defiantly went both ways.

I cannot believe you people cannot just accept peoples opinions. Just let it be.

I really don't/didn't think of TR:TR as a "flat in a box", either...the theming and story line is too integral to the *experience* IMO for that miniker.....that being said, enclosing ANOTHER flat, be it a giga-flat or whatever, just seems silly to me....are you gonna try and theme it, too (nah, for what purpose, to create "competition" for your existing ride)....puttting a "mega-flat" out in the open where guests can SEE it, though, would be more of a "new" thing and would work better at what ALL parks want to achieve....say it with me folks: "A well-rounded park experience for ALL the guests in our MARKET"....say it three times and it just MIGHT come true....;)
