pki construction - CoasterBuzz

i think it would be awesome if they put tunnels on Son of Beast for their 30th snniversary! From what I`ve heard, they`re going to anounce in late June, however it could be early July. (lucky me, as I`m on vacation at Paramount`s Carowinds in late June and would miss the anouncement then!)

I think PKI would be foolish to not put in tunnels on SOB, and I'm betting it will happen within the next couple of years. Personally, I'd like to see the loop tunneled. Not gonna happen, but I'd like to see it. :)

I'll be up there this Saturday, and I'll be excited to see what's going on at the KCKC site. I haven't been since April, and even then you could tell how huge the project is by the access roads alone. I just hope that they revive "The Bat" idea that was planned for the Vekoma FD and use it with a B&M Flying Coaster. I think it's too good of an idea with the perfect landscaping and terrain for that kind of thing.

Of course they could put the tunnel around the helix on the Beast as originally designed and shown in the original pictures. They keep saying on the xx aniversary that they will finally enclose the enitire final helix on the Beast. And what about enclosing even more of it??

If you think about it, the helix on Beast could be counted as two separate tunnels. I think (not sure this is true or not) that the Beast holds the record for longest tunneled track, and most tunnels. If they enclosed the entire helix, then the record would be easier to break.
I would like to see SOB tunneled dropping out of the station. With that insane bank coming down, that would rock. That and move the camera.
It would make sense to expand the area, but I do not see PKI doing this. For one, the Beast entrance would be in the way. Another thing, it would take away from the Beasts` secrecy if they built back there. I guess we will have to wait.

Clue me in. What is the Bat Idea. are they going to redo bat flyer or something. What about multiple coasters. They now have construction paths every. Back by beast, behind the racer and flight of fear and the huge clearing where KcKc is. OR even yet the spot where KcKc used to be could be the future location of a dark ride. Jordan, the Bat idea is about bringing back a certain popular coaster that use to reside where the Vortex is now. The Bat was the world's first suspended coaster it opened from 1981 and was torn down in 1984 due to numerous mechanical problrms (and no.. nobody was killed on it either: old rumor). The idea was started by a rumor that when Paramount Parks bought exclusive to the Vekoma Flying Dutchman after Stealth was planned, PKI was going to bring back the Bat as a FD. Since one of the companies broke that deal, the "bring back the Bat" rumor kind of died out. People still think PKI can still bring back the Bat as a B&M invert or B&M flying machine and place it in Rivertown somewhere. And that my friend is what the Bat idea is.:)

The Bat would actually fit in right there. Have some of the turns swing out over the people. That would be cool.

From someone "in the know" at PKI, "the 2002 attraction will be BIG!" So whatever you guys think it's going to be, it will be big. And he said they are still in talks about schelduling the announcement which should be soon, because the construction will be a giveaway and they need to get started.

Considering that coaster works only builds small to medium woode rides as of now, I find it highly unlikely that Storm will be coming to pki. also, PKI would never use a name as lame as that.

How do you know if STORM is a medium woodie? Do you even know that TCW is a new company and only has done two coasters, they are growing.

However, to STORM, it's not what you expect. I can't wait till a park buys it. :)

I was at PKI today (6/7/01) The only signs of construction I saw were on the acces roads there were two triangles spray painted on it in orange paint! Also while in line for the Beast I thought of something. I know how they left one shed from KCKC. Every major coaster at PKI 9except FoF and Top Gun) has a shed that contains the lift motor. Could they have kept this shed for the engine house for a new coaster chain? I can`t wait until they anounce and hope they do it before or after I go on vacation!

Lets not jump to conclusions here, i think we should probably wait until some delivery truck arrive. We know that we are getting something for 2002, but we just dont know what yet. Im only hoping that they announce it when the delivery trucks arrive, and then after its announced unload them. I guess i can only hope they revive The Bat so it can live once again.

Thanks beastmaster for clueing me in. That would be cool if they brought the bat back but wasn't it a very intense coaster. I don't know because I wasn't born when it was built or even demolished but the pics I have seen of it make it out to be one pretty intense coaster.

Well, obviously if they bring the Bat back, it wont be suspended pretty much because...they already have one. I can tunderstand why they would get another wooden coaster. And if they do, i hope its not coaster works...why cant PKI go woth CCI or GCI? I expect to see something large and steel going back there.

Jordan, I don't think that they'd bring out the same layout. It would only be named the same.

What a great concept. A terrain flying coaster.

Gives me goosebumps.

They can not build a B&M Flying coaster. Alton Towers has exclusive rights to that for at least 3 or 4 years years.

Ive been thinking (boy it hurts, lots of smoke) and I thought of this: Why would Alton Towers buy exlusive right to the B&M Flyers for the entire world? Why not just for Europe? That would make more sense.
P.S. Just got back from PKI Construction was not going on. As a matter of fact, I think they have stopped all construction. All there was was a huge puddle of water from the last weeks rain and mud.

The contruction crew that dismanteled KCKC has left. While aboard the train today the anouncer said it would be a thrill ride, but not every coaster is a thrill ride and some might apply the term "thrill" to Rugrats Runaway Reptar. I just hope that whatever they get, its not geared to children!
