thanks lumpy72! Does anyone know when the 2001 attractions will officially be anounced? I hope PKI doesn`t wait this long next year to anounce next years attraction!
I have never been told an exact date. Just the end of January. Hey did you read this on SCREAMSCAPE.com?

Setpoint News - (1/26/2001) Industry sources tell us that Setpoint will build another Flying Super Saturator style coaster (Swing Thing w/ Water Droptanks) for 2001. However no one is sure where it may be headed. Could be for PKI, PGA or perhaps for SFNE. Any ideas?

I wonder if it has anything to do with PKI?

William

What is that type of coaster? I've never heard of that one before?
It's not going to PKI, they've been confirmed as getting a Vekoma Family Invert.

I can tell you for a fact that Setpoint will not be building a Swing Thing anywhere in 2001. They would confirm to me that they've got one lined up for 2002 and that it would be in the "northeast portion" of the country. To me, that means anywhere west of Ohio and north of the Carolinas. Interpret as you wish.

Originally PKI was rumored to get a Swing Thing, but since about September is been the renovated log Fluma and a kiddie inverted
Okay my fellow PKI fans (and critics), upon reviewing the shots I took of PKI on Tuesday I found something a little odd. They are not announcing any new attractions till February, but we have proof of the construction at one site (next to splat city), now we have proof of another attraction. Here is the clue, look at PKI's page and you will see a picture of the 7th Portal, a bunch of people in theatre seats and super heros jumping out of a screen at them. Now take that clue and look at my news page

http://www.coasterguide.com/news.htm

and take a look at the theatre back by the Racer split where the 007 Bond action movie is. They have everything off the front of the building and laying on the ground, and there are work trucks there. Give me thoughts on this and I will continue to look through my shots for more changes
Before too awful long here, I may have to borrow your eyes Chris and have you help me look for changes.

I don't understand the hoopla over this 7th Portal nonsense. What is it? I've never even heard of it before.

Search "all articles" at right for 7th Portal and all shall be revealed...

I heard someplace that they will be using one side of the theatre for 7th Portal and the other side for a changing set a movies throughout the season. Possibly just Days of Thunder and 007. Anyone else know anymore? Is this just a rumor?
bcdzoom, I`ve heard that one theater will have rotating movies throughout the year also. Check out coaster-mania.com and they say the same thing. If only PKI would anounce we would know for sure what they`re doing!

Shawn, more great pictures! I hope you can take some more pictures later in Fabruary, if PKI still hasn`t anounced! 7th Portal is an all new 3d animated movie that requires a special reflective screen and is going in at all the Paramount parks this year.

Why doesn`t PKI anounce their 2001 attraction since everyone basicly knows what it is, minus any details.

OK, let me spell it out...

Iwerks is producing some kind of motion-base simulator movie with Stan Lee. They were hyping it up at IAAPA, and Stan was even there, but I wasn't paying attention.

Thank you, Jeff. That was very gracious ;) I'm just teasin' ya'.

So this 7th Portal thing is a super-hero based simulator ride, huh? What is the 7th Portal - some sort of cartoon, or comic book series? I've never even heard of it until they decided to put this new thing at the Paramount parks.
It is some sort of web-comics and the simulator will "plug" you into the net to join forces with the heros
Chris Rettig...I went back up today (1-29), and got a couple of nice shots of the white water canyon area just for you. I will email them to you tonight.

Shawn, did the sites look any different today? Also, are there any clearings that weren`t there in the 2000 season. The only reason I ask is because when PKI opened in 1999 they had all the land cleared for Son of Beast, even though consturction didn`t start till a month later. If there are any new clearings it might suggest a new coaster. And I`m not talking about the one next to the log flume whre the new kiddie coaster will be at. BTW, I like the updates to your site, keep up the great work!!!
