Surprised to realize I have 8 of the top 10. 52 0f the top 100 with 8 more coming from Florida in December. Hopefully hitting Twisted Timbers next July along with 7 other top 100 while on that trip. I'll only be missing Twisted Colossus from the current top 10. Wow! I rode 40 of the top 100 during the 2016-2018 seasons. No wonder I'm poor. LOL
If I REALLY try hard, I could hit California for my friend's birthday in December and get 9 more top 100 coasters...Ugh! I'm sick...I need help.
Interesting results this week. Was there a particular ride that was removed? I can't remember anything that high on the list that was defunct.
13 Boomerang, 9 SLC, and 8 B-TR clones
Looking at the Google cached version of the page, it seems Nemesis somehow disappeared from the list. It had been #19.
In the cached version, Nemesis had 34 riders. In this weeks update, the lowest ride count is 35 (Goliath at La Ronde). Perhaps Nemesis was just barely on enough track records to appear in the list before, and as people updated their track records in the last week, it no longer makes the cut
Aw, bummer. It was nice to have a European ride up there.

That's interesting. I never considered that an expanding pool of users could increase the number of required votes for a coaster to be eligible for consideration to the point that it drops out, but that's exactly what happened. I know there are a billion reasons why Jeff shouldn't do this, but I'm still curious as to what count qualifies someone as an experienced rider.

I just took a look and was kind of surprised, I have ridden 19 of the top 20. The only one I'm missing was down at my time at the park (Lighting Run). 80 of the top 100 total.
I don't keep a ride count anymore, but imagine I'm somewhere south of 300 total. I guess this poll ranking trends toward the type of ground I cover. (In an effort of self-preservation, I am at the point where when I go check out a new park, I wind up skipping anything that does not come off as really interesting, unique or if it has a really bad rough reputation. Or in the case of Kingda Ka, not worth the perceived risk.)
I guess I've chosen well over the years. Or maybe everyone's taking this tactic, and skewing the hell out of the metric ; )
Fun thread to revisit on election day.

Indeed, as the sample size increases, so must the number of people who have been on a particular ride.

Oh, I mean the exact number and whether it's still around 80.

In other news, Big Bad Wolf has been removed from the top 100 with the debut of Mine Blower. It had a great run!
I've been fascinated by the no longer existing coasters on this list. It stands to reason that over time, they would disappear as younger riders provide their scores. Dueling Dragons and Screechin Eagle are the only non-exisiting coasters still in the top 100. Screechin Eagle hasn't operated for over 15 years, which is surprising to see it hang on at number 73. With only 42 riders, I suspect it will stay on the list until the new minimum is 43 riders.
It’s about time that Time Traveler made an appearance on the list! Very well-deserved.

(AKA Barry Allen and Niles Crane amalgamated).
I'll take the credit for that. Visited Silver Dollar City a couple of weeks ago and updated my track record. I was hoping to post a trip report but I haven't found the time to do it yet.
Anyway, I really loved Time Traveler. Super fun and not nearly as nausea-inducing as it looks.

I just noticed this week that the 3 most recent Kings Island coasters are #22-24 on the list. This seems appropriate, as all 3 are "really good" but not "outstanding" in my opinion.
Banshee originally debuted at #6 on the list, and has since dropped to #22. I wonder if it will slide any more over time. I personally prefer Montu, which is now not far behind at #33.
Coasterbuzz - Coaster enthusiasts, but so much more. We're the good ones.
That is amusing how those three are grouped together.
I'd call any ride in the top 100 "outstanding," really, but that's a pretty subjective descriptor. I think any park would be lucky to have those three rides. Their presence is a true testament to how amazing KI's lineup has become in the past decade or so, compared to the rides during the identity crisis the park seemed to have in the 90s and 2000s.
I agree with your assessment of Montu vs. Banshee. While I do think Banshee is a great ride, I've always felt it was a bit overrated. I've never been able to quite put my finger on why - the elements individually are terrific, but somehow for me, they don't add up to something greater when you string them together. I'm left wanting more in a way that I never feel on Montu, or my all-time fav invert, Fire Dragon, R.I.P.
Still a terrific coaster though. And if I were still a local, Mystic is the sort of coaster I could ride all day and not tire of. What a gem.
