That is amusing how those three are grouped together.
I'd call any ride in the top 100 "outstanding," really, but that's a pretty subjective descriptor. I think any park would be lucky to have those three rides. Their presence is a true testament to how amazing KI's lineup has become in the past decade or so, compared to the rides during the identity crisis the park seemed to have in the 90s and 2000s.
I agree with your assessment of Montu vs. Banshee. While I do think Banshee is a great ride, I've always felt it was a bit overrated. I've never been able to quite put my finger on why - the elements individually are terrific, but somehow for me, they don't add up to something greater when you string them together. I'm left wanting more in a way that I never feel on Montu, or my all-time fav invert, Fire Dragon, R.I.P.
Still a terrific coaster though. And if I were still a local, Mystic is the sort of coaster I could ride all day and not tire of. What a gem.Last edited by matt., Monday, July 15, 2019 10:53 AM
Copperhead Strike has entered the list at #20. Fury 325 is the only coaster at Carowinds that ranks higher.
It's also one of only two Macks on the list right now (Time Traveler being the other, currently at #39).Last edited by Perpetual Obsession, Tuesday, August 6, 2019 2:51 PM
That's pretty cool, but maybe not entirely unexpected. I think Maverick taught us that non-tall rides can be awesome.
Absolutely. I really enjoyed Copperhead Strike, didn’t care that it wasn’t a monster, and it was so re-rideable that I climbed aboard many, many times that day. I’m glad it made a good start here.
Time Traveler is also a good ride- my hope is that more parks catch on to Mack and all they can do. I’m a fan.
I really expected CS to be a "meh" coaster. Boy, was I mistaken. This ride is fantastic. 3 re-rides in a row in the 2nd row from the back at closing time was AWESOME!
Copperhead is one of the best new rides to debut in the last couple of years. It’s really amazing and the new Blue Ridge Junction is amazing.
Delighted to see this make the list and in such a high position. In reviewing CS for another blog I gave it a 9 out of 10; it's that good. Executed flawlessly and the amount of ejector air came as a pleasant surprise. I too am a fan of Mack. As RCMAC pointed out, Time Traveler is another good ride. Apart from the ride experience, I think it's pretty cool that each of these coasters has a storyline behind it - as does another Mack, Cobra's Curse. Offhand I can't think of any other coasters - at least not any I've ridden - that have both a theme and a storyline.
I expect Steel Curtain will be a big shake up when it enters.
Does anyone track the rides that fall out of top 100?
SDC is about to lose 2 really great rides.
I don't get out anymore.
I thought you came out years ago.Last edited by Tekwardo, Friday, August 16, 2019 10:00 PM
Say, has Orion hit the list yet?

Tek, I'm versatile. Gonch knows.
Tremors and Wicked enter the list. Can't remember the last week we had two debuts at the same time.
Especially impressed that a remote 20-year-old CCI just made it on there for the first time. Is this a rare classic-era CCI that is aging OK?
