Mom not pleased with Playboy bunny logo poster as amusement prize

Posted | Contributed by Junior

Kristine Severn said her son, Trevor, won a Playboy bunny logo poster while playing a dart game last Friday on a field trip to Oaks Park, an amusement park in southeast Portland. When her son brought it home, she called Oaks Park and asked why an 11-year-old would be given the poster. Severn said she received the run-around and that Oaks Park told her that they do not run the games.

Read more from KPTV/Portland.

People these days just need to relax and not make a scene over pointless bits. Was the trip even Shaporoned? If not than why would you let your 11 year old son go? and If it is than isn't it the Shaporon's responsibility to keep the trip a a PG level? Great Parenting Skills.

And don't most poster games let you choose which poster you win? It is not like the park forced the poster on the kid.

Hell, just go down to the Strand at Myrtle Beach. You can find all kinds of fun stuff to offend people with. ;)

Amen, Gracie Sue! Did you people miss the fact that Krissy Severn is a stripper? As a longtime Portland resident and someone who is an acquaintance of hers, I can verify undoubtedly she is a longtime exotic dancer.

HELLO!! IRONY ALERT!!

The very woman who complained to an amusement park for distributing objects of a sexual nature is in fact an object of a sexual nature herself constantly parked on several gentlemen's laps for their amusement! Her stepson probably bought his entry tickets with dirty one dollar bills formerly wedged in her buttcrack!

I guess Krissy should add HYPOCRITE on her resume under STRIPPER. Just saying...

Look kids, (Gracie Sue and Jaime Jo), if you didn't join CoasterBuzz because you have an interest in coasters and/or amusement parks, then you don't need to be here. That you know this woman and have an interest in trashing her name on the internet is your business. But this isn't the place for that.

Should you choose to contribute to the forums regarding your interest in coasters and amusement parks, then welcome. But it's suspicious that you created new memberships and immediately provided first posts regarding personal information about this woman.

Isn't there something in the TOS that says you're not allowed to post if you have 2 first names? (There should be.)

She even explains it was what the poster represented that was the problem. The kid explains that in his eyes it didn't represent anything but a bunny. So who really introduced what in this scenario?

"This is not a pipe." The thing itself vs. a representation. Personally, I dig tulips...but I'm of age. We've been through this discussion before, and a child who doesn't *get* the bunny thinks it's a bunny. The child who thinks "Playboy bunny" has already been polluted/contaminated/educated.....your call. ;)

This is not a joke. plenty of people here in Portland think it's HILARIOUS that she of all people would be soooo shocked and horrified by a playboy bunny. Pot calling the kettle, anyone??

Actually, no I don't see the irony...unless, of course, she dances for 11 year olds.

Heck, one could argue that her involvement in the adult-related industry makes her first hand experience and opinion more valid.

Yes, I get that I'm on a forum full of adults who spend their time discussing roller coasters.

However, I don't feel that my post was "trashing" anything, and actually I feel it was far less offensive than some of the other comments (the link to that t-shirt immediately comes to mind). How can statements such as "get a life, lady" [Jeff] or those insinuating that an innocent 11 year old boy will grow up to be a "total wack-o perv" [RCMAC] be deemed "appropriate" for coaster-talk, but me pointing out Ms. Severn's occupation not?

I'm interested in the intelligent debate (here and elsewhere - but obviously mostly elsewhere) that has arose as the result of Ms. Severn's well publicized complaint. I just feel that it's important for people to know the full story when discussing an issue of this nature.

Thanks, all, for showing you true colors by immediately attacking an opinion that, actually, doesn't even seem different than many of yours; the fact that you chose to do this by personally insulting my first name was a nice touch. It definitely speaks volumes about the character of forum members here.

Oh please. You came out here to announce to strangers on the internet the details of this woman's profession and your opinion about it. There is nothing intelligent or debatable about that. The other comments involved nothing personal being spread about this person.

This is a community of people who share a common interest. And this story wasn't posted to serve as a seedy piece of gossip to discuss around the water cooler.

If that is your interest, then you would be better served tracking down those other intelligent debates you referenced.

Of course, I could always bring and set my laptop on the water cooler, if you'd like. :)

I'm with Gonch---if she works in the adult industry, she has a much better appreciation for the real consequences of objectification than Random Soccer Mom. In fact, I'm guessing the very last thing she wanted her son to grow up to be is one of those guys who spends every Friday night down at the club with a stack of $1 bills.

Several years ago, a student of mine was found dead. Turns out she was killed by a guy she was sometimes-staying with, that she met in a strip club she danced at. That's how she was paying for school. Not a joke, not a laughing matter, not something to get all IRONY ALERTy about.

Now, if you two are done (assuming you are actually two different people---doubtful) please move along.

This is not going to be white trash theater. You two morons are bordering on libel, which means she could sue your ass and win. Remember that per our terms of service, we will reveal anything we know about you if it's requested by the courts or law enforcement, including your e-mail and IP addresses.

Take your dirty laundry elsewhere.

I'd join you at the water cooler, but unfortunately my laptop is still hidden underneath my mattress.

I am guessing those two (Or 1 person posing as 2) know that lady in person personally than both or all of them had an argument and they googled this after they saw it on the news to just spread bad thing about this so-called stripper. They have no interest in this site.

The worst crime is that of mediocrity, not vulgarity, eh? Kinda like the new Marlyn Manson CD or Korn....

Manson's Cd's started sucking after Holy Wood, But Korn is still one of the greatest metal bands of all time, in my opinion. Their latest album is almost as good as their first. Any time that I get to hear Jonathan Davis sing, I am peachy.

I don't like your attitude, missy. You sound awful snippy and condescending about this being a site for adults to discuss roller coasters. Then why did you bother showing up? Even worse is the idea you thought this was a group of junior high school kids talking about coasters that you wanted to join in order to discuss lap dancing.

What kind of reaction did you expect from people here? I suggest you go back to your friends at the Harper Valley PTA if you want to spread gossip.

It was only a matter of time, my man. This may be the funniest thing I have read in a while. I think I just might haiku about it.

Lol. It's been a rough few days, and I have really noticed some people doing some really stupid things lately, but this one is probably the stupidest...

...And she ends by calling us what we are, "

I wanted to call her out, but, thankfully, Carrie beat me to it.

I call shenanigans. Yes, it's haiku time once again.
