Michigan's Adventure construction?

'Playa + Pointman - I thought pretty much the same thing when I was reading the descriptions of the clearing. MiA already has a giant wooden out and back, why put in a steel one? Put me in the "pulling for a world class twister" club, as well. Doubt that would happen, but we can always hope. :)

Hands OFF of Rampage, you northerners....LOL. Listen, there is already PLENTY of good wood in the Midwest, and while we have plenty o' Beemers, we are lacking in the wood department. Am I s'posed to drive to Hotlanta or Miami to get decent wood? Cheetah is fun, but HARDLY on the level of Rampage.....Gwazi, well, let's just say that it's good, but NOT great - and the ops policies are among the worst anywhere....

bill, thinking if O-town had a seriously good wooden coaster, then our needs would all be met......

Oh, and MiA....needs a decent steel coaster.....how about Whizzer?

OK: here is all the construction stuff:

I talked to the Timbertown Railway engineer (who is VERY reliable) and he also told me that by the end, there will be a stop where there already is, at the other side of the park (undeveloped area), and near the waterpark. That's all for the train.

As for the footers I saw, they most likely are for a coaster. They are VERY spread out. If anyone else has noticed, they have cleared quite a few trees, and they still have more flagged. There is a LOT of extra wood near Timbers.

As for the hypercoaster, I highly doubt it will come next year. The footers are NOT for a hypercoaster, because they don't form a big enough path for a lift hill.

The other day, I saw construction workers, construction equipment, and quite a few plans out in the undeveloped area. Then, when I was leaving, I watched the GM and constructers (oops) go into the main office with the plans.

Oh, and don't give away the secret MITrooper or STChick ;) let 'em sweat a bit.

Who can go a whole day at MiA riding Timbers ONCE? Repeat after me: "I hate parent chaperones"

gator - But don't you realize that we're greedy up here?

How do you think this monopoly got started in the first place?

I agree with the other people on here who say that having an out-and-back hyper coaster near ST would steal it's glory. I say lets go hyper-twister.

Secret...what secret? PerrysburgGuy hit it right on the head. ;) How did he know...hmmm....lol

No worries...it'll take more than just a couple of beers to get it out of me...a pizza should do it. ;)

Who would you ant building the hyper coaster??? Preferably (sp) i would like to see a B&M or an Intamin. Though i have never rode a B&M hyper i have heard goodthings about them. I rode M-Force and that was a great coaster so i figured they could build giga coasters god they can buld good hyper coasters, especially after hearing what people had to say about all of the SROS.

Are You Ready!?

If other Cedar Fair parks are any indication we would see a Morgan Hyper but who knows.

How about the new Cedar Fair maintenance? Are they taking care of Shivering Timbers? I've only been there once, the day it opened. Wolverine was a bumpy mess, have they fixed that? I wish CF would lay off taking ANY trees out. They're too good at that and concrete pouring. "Concrete Point - concrete and rides!" They need the Tidal Wave! Someone needs it!
Actually Zombie, in the case here, FUN has actually put trees in instead of taking them out. The trees that are being removed are in the undeveloped part of the land.

Im very curious to see what that park does for itself next year. Just the way it looked this year compared to a few years ago was amazing.

zombie73, When I was there Wolverine was retracked for a good portion of the ride, It was a lot smoother then I thought it would be.

If you've been there before, zombie, you'll know that there is a huge amount of land that is already treeless. I'm sure this area will be nicely landscaped when it gets developed.

Wolverine was only fixed in a couple spots. It's still a bit of a bumpy ride, IMO.

I'll bet Kara is getting a great laugh out of this thread. Like Jeff, there is no way she's going to tell what she knows.

I talked to the higher ups today, they said they are announcing their improvements the last week in July...which would be next week. We'll see, though...take that as you wish.

Good to know, PKI sometime this week, then MIA some time next week, cool. I dont know if MIA is gonna get another coaster, they still have alot of minor improvements to make that really add up, of course it has been 4 years since timbers opened, so we'll see. I think they need a good looper. Corkscrew just doesnt do it for me. They need a looper more than they need a hyper. and i could be a looping hyper. who knows?(STchick does) Am I even cutting close with my theory of them getting a looper?

I honestly don't see a hyper coming to MA for at least several more years. The park still gets an average of around a half a million guests per year. A hyper would not be a sound investment for Cedar Fair if it can't be paid off in a timely manner.

I can see a dual S&S tower going in. A 200-250 foot tall model (like Worlds of Fun's, but with both directions), would be a good fit for the park.

I think that capacity is still a large issue with the park. The ride package received for this year was a good start.

The ride capacity is actually pretty good at MiA, largely due to the waterpark, which swallows a huge crowd. You can run a parking lot out to ST's station and only have 30-40min wait for ST.

Personally, I'd much rather see CF snap up Visionland's Rampage and erect it @ MA than yet another Morgan hyper....but that's just me.

Right on, Playa! Save the Rampage. I've been dying to ride that thing since it and Timbers opened. Back then, they had quite the rival.
Please let it not be another "yawn" Morgan hyper. If it is, it'll probbly be another Steel Force/Mamba layout. If they get a hyper, I would want it to be atleast as twisted as SFNE's Superman, otherwise, a steel Timbers seems pointless to me also.
How `bout a massive suspended like Top Gun on steroids with Vampire trains?
Or a GCI twister?
