Maverick Opening Delayed til June!

I'm a ravenous fanboy, eh? That's interesting coming from the person who is the most vocal on here about people bitching. After hundreds of posts, we know people are disappointed. But, that doesn't detract from the fact CP is still awesome. That's what I was saying.
Yea so some of their more complicated coasters have some problems. look at the deal with X, wasn’t their a long, long delay in it's opening. With launch coasters, and elevator lift coasters of course there are going to be troubles. It's not Intamin, they make some good thrill rides and water rides, it's just the new more complicated coasters have their bugs.

But those of us who don't think CP is awesome -- such as yours truly -- look at those of you who do think it's awesome as ravenous fan boys, lol ;)

^And fangirls as yours truly, but I am far from ravenous. ;) I just don't give a s***.

Maverick can open tomorrow or 2 years from now. It's all good. ;)

SFGADV was getting bashed last year for El Toro's late opening. Now it's Cedar Point's turn. I guess it's even.
How can you say you dont think Cedar Fair is awsome, for me it seems like the MECA for roller coaster enthusiast, I understand having dislikes because of their multiple unrealiable Intamin purchases but still 16 soon to be 17 coasters is pretty awsome to me.

Bolliger/Mabillard for President in '08 NOT Dinn/Summers

Maybe CP was just so thrilled with the new trick track on Batman and Robin over at SFGAdv, that they wanted to have that instead of a heartline roll as well.

Honestly, CP is a class act, and I am sure wanted to get this fixed, give them credit for making the right decision and delaying the launch (no pun intended) of this coaster. If they get this fixed and opened by mid June, this will be just a minor hiccup in the grand scheme of things.

I for one am hoping for the best!

So, what people aren't asking is what is IntaRide going to do for Cedar Point now? Obviously when Ordering this Ride, they WANTED this extremely thrilling inversion in there, I do too. Someone said, and it's about right to me... Almost seemed too good to be true. Guess that's right. Honestly, without that inversion, I'm not sure I'd have much to look forward to when riding Maverick.

It's the only element I was SO excited about. Nothing else on there is "revolutionary" or special... Ok... two corkscrews... a launch a tunnel...

heh without that element this ride doesnt look like it would be anymore thrilling than Italian Job. My Opinion though.

Maybe they will butcher it like they are son of beast with a little swivvle to the left, swivvle to the right. Damn.

That's the entire point, though. Maverick isn't supposed to be a one-trick pony, it's intended to be an overall fun ride. Italian Job does this wonderfully, and I think Maverick will as well, regardless of whether it keeps the inline.

How can I say it? Pretty easily, actually. Cedar Point is a fun place to visit every few years but it's parks like Holiday World, Knoebels, Indiana Beach, Kennywood, Lake Compounce, Dollywood, Silverwood, Silver Dollar City and such that I visit on almost a yearly basis regardless if they have something new or not. I don't need a park with a double-digit coaster count to keep me happy.

You're talking to a wall, 'Moosh. And walls are, typically, one-dimensional.

I know, Jeff...I know ;)
I know it's just an animation, but in that one reel, the heartline roll always scared me.
Its better that they find out now instead of years of dumping money on maintenance like Gradv did with chiller. Its still the best park IMO and I'm glad I planned my trip there in August instead of the beginning of June.

LMAO! Post of the year so far.

We all know Intamin rides tend to have problems, blah blah blah.

While this is unfortunate for the park, a few months from now when everyone is fawning over the ride, all will be a distant memory (see:El Toro)

Can't we skip all the dramatics this time, let them get the problems worked out and then 'overpraise' the ride just like we do everything else at Cedar Point? ;) Trust me, the park will be just fine.

Dang you DW...bringing logic and rational thinking into the discussion. Every party needs a pooper that's why we invited you....

I'm surprised we haven't heard the standard, "what's CP going to do for me now?" lines. Oh you know the usual B&M (and in this case B&M doesn't stand for a coaster designer/manufacturer) about how CP should owe us all something now that their star attraction isn't going to be online as soon as the park opens and Joe Q Enthusi-ass thinks he is owed something for his lost enjoyment. :)

...Just think of all those little kids that have waited all fall and winter for Maverick. Think of their parents, that had to hear the kids whine and complain, finally giving in and making reservations to be at CP for opening day. Think of little Johnny and Joni's disappointment when they find out Maverick is down on opening weekend... Poor kids are messed up for life!
Oh, the Humanity!
