Oh, and what's the deal with the "visual scan"? What exactly are they scanning for? Especially when most of them are just turning their head from side like robots? It's almost as useless as the ops saying "check" when checking restraints at CP.
Josh, when you go, let me Know, I'm always up for more Toro!

They've been doing that all season. It's now gone from odd to parody. The patrons do it now, in the air gates and while seated on the train. RoboCop was the first thought I had on it back on Opening Day. I refuse to to it, for the same reason I don't do the WAVE when I go to a ballgame.
The amusement park rises bold and stark..kids are huddled on the beach in a mist

You're a poet and you're not aware of it.
Hobbes: "What's the point of attaching a number to everything you do?"
Calvin: "If your numbers go up, it means you're having more fun."
Wow, I didn't even realize that Andy!
I don't know...has there been a lack of excitement? It seems like every off season the "target" is on a park somewhere. There was plenty of buzz around rides like Mystery Mine, Fahrenheit, Maverick...I think it has just changed. Parks aren't scrambling to build the biggest, fastest, etc...it seems like parks are going after the "unique" and innovative. Perhaps to some that is less exciting?
Yes, and for some it is not effective at all. Apparently I am immune to this one. In fact, it has the opposite effect.
^ Well you're certainly entiltiled to your opinion, though you sound more like a wet blanket. How are these not new experiences. The TOT2 reviews have all touted the ride as a much improved experience backwards. Green Lantern is the first in the US (and an awesome ride I might add). I guess I just don't get your point at all, unless your point is, "if it's at Six Flags, it must suck".
^ I see. Well Deja Vu is closed until next spring, so I'm not sure what is happening with it. I'd be happy if they took it out completely. But that would mess up their coaster count. lol
While the ZacSpin coasters definitely do not have much to offer in terms of capacity, it's great to see an attraction we've yet to find in the States finally make an appearance. I think most of us expect such a large and popular park to avoid low capacity coasters, but with 18 in their lineup, I think Magic Mountain is able to get away with it. At this point having removed several rides in the past 5 years, additional attractions just adds to overall park capacity, not detract from it. I'm just glad it's a ZacSpin, as itt could easily have been another low-capacity coaster like The Dark Knight Coaster or Tony Hawk's Big Spin.
I do find it amusing that as the second "4th Dimension" style coaster in the country, Green Lantern is on its way to the park that is home to the other one (X2).
I see Terminator as a Psyclone replacement and Green Lantern as a Flashback replacement (both Green Lantern and Flashback oddly enough feature(d) that "stacked" structural design).
And rather than letting Superman become further dated, I'm glad they gave it a new lease on life by updating it rather than taking it out --- still after 13 years, Superman is still the only ride of its kind in the country.
As for the Vekoma RollerSkater, it's a much needed 'tweener family coaster. The park's two other junior coasters - Percy's Railway and Canyon Blaster are geared for small children, rather than for families; so it's nice to see an intermediate addition that bridges the gap between the tike-sied Canyon Blaster and a larger family ride like Gold Rusher.
With the removal of Flashback and Psyclone and their replacements now in place, I think it's fair to say that there isn't an awful, butt-of-the-joke, garbage coaster in Magic Mountain's lineup anymore. And for a park with 18 of them, that's quite outstanding.
Green Lantern looks awesome!
The "most coasters" thing does not impress me in the least. Any park can brag about that as well as the "biggest" and "fastest" and "longest" but it all means little to me. Of course I am all about quality, and quantity. That's just me. ;)
I am actually looking forward to Terminator more than anything else. It's been five years since I have been to the park so I look forward to making another SoCal trip in the next year or two. I am just about due. ;)

Does the ZacSpin add to the overall capacity of the park? Clearly. Does it also draw more people to the park? Clearly.
Will lines in general be longer or shorter? Around the park they'll be longer, and the ZacSpin line will be especially long. So bad capacity is still a huge issue.
I still anticipate a whole lot of "That was like X2, but boring" comments.

You probably have not been on "Insane", the Zac Spin version SFMM is getting which is getting a lot of great reviews.
In regards of capacity, the Zac Spin can run 5/6 cars a 8 people at the same time, which is not less(might be even more) when compared to Dark Knight at Great Advenure for example
If this means anything to anybody, Insane at Grona Lund (the exact same ZacSpin model Green Lantern will be) ranked #20 on Mitch Hawker's 2010 Steel Coaster poll...24 spots ahead of X2 and ranking higher than coasters like Griffon, Phantom's Revenge, Storm Runner, and Ride of Steel.

^ Do you even understand the algorithm that goes into Mitch's polls? He compiles the most accurate polling system out there in terms of ranking wooden and steel coasters.
@Fun Maybe not to you but with how Mitch's poll works, I think that says quite a bit.
No, it's still statistically irrelevant. You can't claim any kind of accuracy without a decent sample size. 17 makes not a statistically relevant sample. That's not my opinion, that's generally accepted science.
