Magic Mountain toutes 3 new coasters for the upcoming season...AGAIN. Just 10 years later.

^ Well one thing is for sure. The Intamin version will be MUCH smoother than the Arrow version! ;)

Great marketing, but why on earth would a large park, that probably get really, really busy at times, want to install such a low capacity coaster? Capacity issues should be the number one concern when any park buys a new ride. I like the Green Lantern theme a lot, though.

The new colors for Superman look really nice, but there has to be a reason for it not being a popular ride. Maybe sending trains backwards will help, but that seems kind of like a gimmick to me.

It's almost like SF is trying to pick a fight with CF.

Very corny ad. It reminded me of something someone would make whilst advertising their new awesome RCT3 park.

Come on, Gator. I didn't even mention Flashpass.

But now that you mention it, Flashpass for Green Lantern at MM sounds like a nightmare. If they decide to include it, they might as well make it a "Flashpass only" ride.

I made a few positive comments about MM's new coasters. The negative comments are serious, and in no way was I trying to paint SF in a bad way. I am really only a Six Flags Great Adventure hater, and not a SF chain hater. If a large CF park installed a Zackspin, I would have the same concerns about capacity.

For example, I love Kennywood, but when they announced their new launch coaster, I had the same concerns about capacity.

...Does anyone know what kind of wait times the new Kennywood launch coaster has had this year, by the way?

Indeed, I do. Wait times were 0 minutes with the VIP Coaster Tour. ;)

All you need to do is find some old posts of his and post them here. They still apply. It's kind of scary.

Here's a couple of examples--

The last thing SFMM needs right now is another coaster. They need to focus more on balancing out the flat ride offerings instead.

^^Gator:SFA is far more in need of new attractions to draw people in than SFMM is right now, although both parks could certainly use staffing improvements right now.

The last thing SFMM needs is yet another coaster right now regardless of wether it's marketed as a thrill ride/record breaker or a so called family ride....what they need are more flats to balance out the coasters that they currently have.

See? It's like he's still here. :)

I think the ad is awesome. It's a return to something that has been sorely missing in the industry. Actual excitement!

Maybe they will make it an upcharge for Flashpass like how X2 and Terminator were $10 extra per person per ride for Flashpass Gold users (and I guess Platinum now) only.

LOL, that was in no way directed at you, Travis.

I just thought his whole "some parks get everything while poor SFA gets nothing" argument was particularly appropriate with SFMM getting the deluxe coaster package (again!) this year...

I do want to thank Vater for finding a BFSFA post directed at me....it does make me feel warm and fuzzy inside. Oh wait, that might be a gerbil....nevermind.

I'm totally jealous of Californians right now. I think the Zacspin concept is fascinating and I'd love to have one nearby. And yeah, c'mon - they've got a somersault coaster already!

I was one that thought a Zacspin would be the perfect ride to replace Cedar Point's Demon Drop. Capacity may be an issue, but to me it looks like four more passengers per ride than it's predecessor, and probably about as often if timed and blocked correctly. Hell, at only 7 million (really?) Cedar Point could put two side by side - run one side only on slower days and both sides on busy days.

I think it's a shame that CP didn't snatch one of these up for 2011 and let Windseeker be the star attraction down the road.

Has all this been announced? I'm kinda looking around and I don't any actual news about it. The video is downright awesome, though...

I'm rather excited about the updates to SFMM, but something puzzles me?? Is the announcement "official" or just on the "low" ?? I ask because I looked on RCDB.com and the SixFlags site and saw NOTHING about the new rides. Am I missing something ?

Are you MAN ENOUGH to ride this ride ?

The video is clearly a leak. The park has not officially made the announcement yet. But because of this, they may expedite the announcement date. The park usually waits until post Fright Fest to make the next season's announcements.

The news has not been officially released by Six Flags. Screamscape got the video and leaked it

Still a bit puzzled by where GL is actually going. It looks like Freefall's old spot. If that is the case, the capacity in that area has clearly improved.

It appears to be located in a plot of underutilized land adjacent to Tidal Wave that currently houses Batman The Ride's extended queue (never utilized anymore) and some old Gotham City Facades.

I road a Zacspin at Linnanmäki, they're great fun - the capacity isn't great though - but I figure that it's probably not far off a wild mouse. Great fun though, interesting they're building one with X2 in the park.

I always thought a ZacSpin was a cheaper version of the full on 4D concept.

After making another visit there over the weekend, I still do not get this. I thought the park was clean *even as mobbed busy as it was, and the new Golden Kingdom area looks incredible.

Staff was friendly, efficient, and overall seemed to be having fun doing their jobs. I'll even go so far to say that Great Adventure seems to have some of what Cedar Point now lacks.

I really enjoyed my time there, and I plan on making a return visit early next season.

The only thing that bugged me about SFGAd was the dispatch times, and this was last Friday night when it wasn't crowded at all. I was amazed how long it took to check restraints on a half empty train. Ride hosts walking casually, stopping to gab with each other. Stacking stacking stacking. Since the lines were so short anyway, it didn't bother me that much, but on Superman it was particularly annoying waiting to roll into the station, since most of my weight was being supported by my shins. The only coaster where the ops actually moved quickly was Nitro, which ironically, has a quicker dispatch anyway since the restraints are so simple.

But other than that, yeah, SFGAd has a great coaster collection and is nicely themed/landscaped for a park of that type.
