Lost Dark Rides

Awesome story. I'd love to ride a haunt as scary as that. lol

Sadly, having designed Halloween walk-through haunts for most of my life, I fear that I am somewhat desensitized to stuff like that now.

Earthquake,Funhouse and Pirate at Cedar Point also.

Anything from Hunt's Pier in Wildwood. Keystone Kops, Jungleland, Wacky Shack, Pirate Ship SKUA and Golden Nugget all had darkride aspects. Heck, even the train had a haunted tunnel under the Flyer!

First Ghost Ship, now this? I've got to get up there. I love walk-through haunts almost as much as I love coasters. A nice, long trip to NJ shore is being put into my "to-do" list right now.

I heard that House of Haunts opened this past weekend, finally, so now Wildwood has 2 solid haunted walkthroughs.

This is a friendly reply, Billb...

What does your reply have anything to do with me thinking the typo in the story was funny? You were already told by Jeff to trim your quotes. Maybe if more of a peer reminded you, instead of the webmaster, you might figure it out.

Using the quote feature is a good idea in this instance, because my post that you are quoting is on another page, so that's good. BUT, we don't need to read the part about the typo in my quote, unless you wanted to say something about it. You didn't, so it should have been edited out...

It is pretty easy, really. Sometime while composing your reply, highlight the part of the post that you are not talking about, and hit the "delete" key located at the end of the number row at the top of your keyboard.

Sometimes, if I don't feel like it is necessary to post an entire quote, but am replying to an entire quote, I will delete some of that too, and just put "..." at the beginning and or end of the part I decided to keep, but that's just my personal style.

You seriously should read the Forum Post Guide, so as to not be considered annoying. (LOL). I recommend paying special attention to number 8, specifically. ...And number 1 and 7, while you are at it.

...

As just another person who posts here (no one special :) ), I invite anyone who hasn't yet, especially new people, to go ahead and read the Forum Post Guide. Following it somewhat will make you a more productive CoasterBuzzer.

Foiled by rich text format again! I think every other site I post on is VBB, I'm still struggling with this one.

LOL.

edit

It looks like there is a dollar off coupon at their site

I don't think that is the problem, but if you really want to get rid of the rich text editor, click "My Account" at the top right hand side of the page, and check the second box down, which reads "Always Use Plain Text Box?".

I'll try that out. I would say there are 3 solid walk throughs, but I heard the Zombie Apocolypse is lame. They just took the ride cars out of the old Zombie World and made it a walk through. I haven't spent the 7 bucks myself though.

Oh, i soo agree, I loved it when it was the old mill...had that creepy feel to it. The Garfield ride is just OK. Go on it once and you're good for the yr.

Magnum's 3rd hill is the best airtime hill out of all the coasters in the world!

House of Haunts is now called "Morbid Manor" and another Haunted dark ride is on the way for Sportland Pier. (something to do with a Zombie Apocolypse)

Not going back through all this, but has Fantasmagoria at Williams Grove been mentioned? They wouldn't allow handstands, but it's the only operating Barrel-o'-Fun I recall seeing...

The pirate ride at cedar Point was kind of Lame. It's been a long time since I went on it, but, there was never a line for it, and, It was kind of boring. But, as much money as Cedar Point was making at that time, I don't understand why they never tried to make it better. Especially when smaller parks like Indiana beach had two really good dark rides.

I also heard that Cedar Point used to have a great fun house. I think the fun house, and the Earthquake ride went out to make room for Oceana. But, I'm not 100 percent sure on that. Both my sister and my brother had the chance to see those, along with the old Shoot The Rapids ride. I think the pirate ride and the old log flume were removed the same year that the Raptor was built. Along with the old rocket ship ride that was next to the calypso.

I think that I heard somewhere that Earthquake was where Snoopy Boutique is now.

That is where I am picturing Earthquake being in my mind. Not totally sure though. Can't really picture where the fun house was though I can picture the house itself. Probably remember more about the fun house than the pirate ride and earthquake. I remember the upside down room with the old lady on the ceiling in a rocking chair and the chandelier sticking up from the floor. Slanted room and the slides you used to exit.

Wasn't the rocket ride where the Calypso is now? Next to where the Blue Streak que was in front of and to the side of the station?

I don't know where Snoopy Boutique is. But from what I remember, SF Earthquake was along the main midway below the Skyride (the original one). It would have been on the right side as you're heading into the park away from the entrance.

That is where the Snoopy Boutique is. There was a cam on top of that building at one time. Not sure if it is still there.
