For grins, I dug up the old thread about the announcement for the Carowinds Intimidator. Gonch, it sounds like that one is more up your alley, but it's funny reading that thread, because back then, our opinions were reversed (my original response is back on page 2 of the thread).

Yeah, that's funny. Proves you never know until you actually ride.
And here's the kicker...I think Carowinds Intimidator is my least favorite B&M Hyper.
Maybe I subconsciously have something against Dale Earnhardt?
Maybe not him specifically, but if going back and forth isn't your thing, then NASCAR with its constant going in circles must completely suck. ;)

Ironic that both Intimidator rides come off the lift, pick up a ton of speed, and make a right turn....would love to see THAT during a NASCAR race....
A guy did that. There are two coasters that were built in his memory.
Well, this just got awkward.

Oh c'mon. I should have at least 10 votes by now!
Edit: And there it is :-)
This spring NASCAR was running an ad for the Daytona 500 with the tagline "Where legends are born." Of course being the jerk I am I quickly added "and killed."
It made my wife (who is a big NASCAR fan and watched that race) extremely upset. But you know Tek? I'm going to vote that up. Because I'm that kind of jerk.
And Gonch, I'm going to continue to ignore your assessment of I305 until you ride it in its current form. While I never rode it in the condition you did I can tell you that you and I did not ride the same ride. And for the record, I agree with you, while the Carowinds Intimidator is great for the park, but "meh" compared to the other hypers.
Still won't ever know about "Nights in White Satin." Okay I'm done picking on you.

That's entirely possible. That's why I always add the little tidbit about when I rode. Seems I experienced the ride at it's worst.
Still don't know how that's going to make going back and forth fun, but hey...stranger things...
Still won't ever know about "Nights in White Satin."
Tis a shame.
Okay I'm done picking on you.
If that's picking, then we'll be fine. :)
For the (in retrospect, a little lame) origin of the "Or Maverick" meme, consult the thread on SFoG's annoucement for Dare Devil Dive.
Hobbes: "What's the point of attaching a number to everything you do?"
Calvin: "If your numbers go up, it means you're having more fun."
Wait a tic...did I coin that?!
I think it's safe to say that Kings Island will be going with B&M as the manufacturer of the ride. I think the park is going to be building either
the invert or wing coaster designs because KI needs a signature attraction that is a high quality AND high capacity looping coaster. An interesting question to me is wouldn't building an invert almost be going backwards with regards to the evolution of roller coaster design?
I haven't ridden a wing coaster yet to know if there is a significant difference in the ride experience between inverts and wing coasters but it seems like the park should take advantage of the much more open seating arrangement and impressive-looking wing coaster train concept than redo the invert concept with poor sight lines (unless you're in the first row) and bulkier
restraints. And I say this as a fan of B&M inverts.
I guess my meme origin memory is not as good as it could be. I got Dare Devil Dive mixed up with Fahrenheit in my explanation. Oh well...
Looks like Tek is the coiner of the meme!
We better be careful about celebrating the meme-coiners though, because then everyone will be trying to coin one. lol

The Beast didn't have big impact from the rest of the park, and look what that ride did. I giga B&M kinda makes sense, seeing the success of Leviathan.
^I thought Leviathan was only added to CW because it was already paid for....wasn't it intended for Knott's? After KI's Diamondback and CW's Behemoth, it would have made sense for the pattern to continue with Leviathan at Knott's. But that didn't work out.
So I consider Leviathan to be a completely unintended coaster for CW, apart from the pattern of the rest of the Cedar Fair parks. (By the way, I just realized this today, but California Adventure has been completely ignored in all of Cedar Fair's patterns, whether it be B&M hypers, DAs, or Windseekers. What's up with that??)
Edit: Whoops lol I meant California's America or Great America or whatever it's called.
