Krause - no idea who JMiller is! Just a post at Ultimate Coaster so I can't comment on the reliability of my source. And he said he just saw it link surfing so that doesn't help
I just rode Wicked Twister for the first time last week. I was impressed...really fun coaster! but yeah, it's not full circuit so can't take any records from alpengeist - although i have to say i prefer riding WT, even though BGW is my home park
That Krause name really stuck, didn't it? lol
So this JMiller guy might just be pulling legs? I believe it was Abraham Lincoln who once said that everything that you read on the internet is true.

Didn't Premier create the HRP suspended Slippery When Wet coaster? So that means they have the ability to do those Caripro-style family suspended coasters now. I'm calling it- Banshee will be the first 200+ ft tall batflyer to make up for the loss of the Scooby Doo Ghoster Coaster.
REALLY!? I'm hurt that your mastery of the obvious doesn't get my snarky, sarcastic comment adding to the ridiculousness of this thread.
Oh, and I just wanted to add for those who have either seen the movie or the trailers for Despicable Me 2 - BEEDO BEEDO BEEDO BEEDO.
You have to remember...it's Tyler. Symbols or no, sarcasm is something he hasn't mastered yet...neither recognizing it NOR using it.
The amusement park rises bold and stark..kids are huddled on the beach in a mist

So I finally caught up with this thread, and am now eligible to throw in my two cents.
1. I don't see the park replacing one woody with another, especially when the first was a spectacular failure. Sorry, Mac. No wood.
2. The hints for a dive coaster seem far too obvious. Anyone up for red herring? I tentatively rule this one out. (Unless it's a double bluff. You know, an XK Red-27 technique.)
3. Standup? Nope.
4. Flyer? Already gots one. Plus, I hate 'em.
5. Floorless? I wish this type was back in vogue, but it's not.
6. Impulse? As long as the designer doesn't start with an 'I', maybe...but it would be a long shot. I could see a Premiere launched; the Back Door Stunt Track Thingy Coasters are underrated fun, and seem to be moderately reliable. Call this the dark horse candidate.
7. I know various factions believe it won't be a mega or hyper steelie, since Diamondback was the last coaster installed. And I know other factions conversely believe it will be a mega or hyper, since it would fit the Sacred Pattern at two other parks. My opinion is that both lines of thought are equally silly and irrelevant.
8. Necessity might be the mother of invention, but the mother of inverteds was Bat...or rather, Bat's failure. So there would be a certain amount of poetry if the park that built the first suspended was (virtually) the dead last to get a full-circuit invert.
So what do I think it's gonna be?
Drumroll....

Hell if I know.

It was hard to tell (as I was on the Adventure Express and Flight Deck) but it appears that there are now some footers extending into the old SOB territory. Assuming it is an invert, I swear the footers look like a set up for the first drop followed by an diving loop (just like Alpie.)

That'll be my luck. I go on and on about how Kings Island doesn't amuse me. Then I go on and on about how I love B&M Inverted coasters while pointing out I think they work beetter as smaller, more compact rides and the big ones like Alpengeist are my least favorite.
Then Kings Island puts in an B&M Inverted coaster...that's similar to my least favorite B&M Inverted.
You can't do anything right, Kings Island! ;)
I don't think it is fair to write off any large B&M invert just based off Alpengeist! I think that layout in general was not very interesting to start out with and the way it is trimmed to death just ruins it. I liked the ride though, but it also was probably my least favorite of the style I have been on.
Like you, I am a huge fan of B&M inverts... My favorite style of ride, the small compact ones tend to be my least favorite (Batman The Ride). Give me Great Bear, Raptor, Talon, Silver Bullet... Anyday!
Also like you, I don't find Kings Island that interesting. We are only 3hrs away and may go once a year and generally for the Haunt, in which we may not ride everything. I don't find the collection of rides that appealing, even Diamondback. I am hoping this ride changes that for me! Really excited to see what comes of it.
The Terrain might be able to really make this a hybrid big/small invert. If they could pair Alpengeists first half with the back half of a smaller invert, the ride could be perfection. Seeing as that land sits right next to a large ravine, you would not even need a MCBR to slow you down if you simply have your first drop and elements in the ravine with your finale back up on top of the cliff.

So the announcement is just prior to Beast Buzz...
Excellent.

It says: "I won't tell you, that would be cheating."
In all seriousness from their Facebook: We will be unveiling our plans for a new world record-breaking attraction Thursday, August 8 at 10pm at the park. The announcement will be made immediately following our nightly fireworks show. You don't want to miss it!
