Any chance at all that this is going to be wood ?? I'd at least like to see some sort of homage paid to the big boy we lost.
Wood? lol
It's not going to be a wing coasters either. I recently came across an interview about Gatekeeper done by Coasterforce, Oiumet said that there were no plans for Cedar Fair to build another wing coaster right now. We pretty much know it's B&M, right? That leaves a "Behemoth" sized coaster, a dive coaster, or an inverted.
And according to the footers, people who know stuff are saying that it appears to be an inverted. I think that's what we are going to get.

I would love to see a B&M Dive coaster. These coasters are way underrated and I think it would be a awesome addition to KI's already phenomenal coaster lineup.
As much as I want to believe that it is an inverted, the space being used, so far at least, is kind of compact, much like a dive coaster would be. I don't know...

That would be one sick ride If you know what I mean. I like the idea though. ;) I would love to see the first giga roller coaster to drop at 90 degrees. Not sure how they would pull it off though.
^^^We've already got one. It's called Dark Knight at SFGadv. It's Dumb, Drab, Dopey, and Dull.
The amusement park rises bold and stark..kids are huddled on the beach in a mist

^If DK was dank, dreary and dismal, we could call it the Seven Dwarfs coaster not at Disney(Drab, Dull, Dank, Dreary, Dismal, Dumb and Dopey)
Too much free time for me today...
I don't know why you folks are so obsessed on this being an invert -- again, the highest ranked invert I've been on is Afterburn, Raptor and Patriot plus those Batman clones.
I am hoping for a Giga, yet I have to admit after returning from Canada's Wonderland last week -- I had to pause for a minute on that wish. My kids and I were there Tuesday night, Wednesday all day and then Thursday night -- all of the rides were walk ons except Thursday. I suspect this is due to Toronto flood and power outages affecting over 500k people in the area.
We rode Leviathan and Behemoth last year, and we rode it again. The first time we got on Leviathan before dusk, I have to admit that all of us were like: After the first drop and the third hill turn, the ride felt lackluster. Dragging, even.
Night time riding changed that. The ride became amazing -- although, the second half of the ride isn't that great.
So, if B&M actually learned some lessons from their first giga and applied it towards to this new Giga, I'd be very thrilled! Especially more of that heartline (or bodydance) turns weaving through main supports at high speed.
If it's basically a clone of Leviathan, then I'd be disappointed. Not overly so.
And, I've continually bumped Diamondback up higher in my rankings as I ride other rides, including Behemoth. Diamondback has it all -- excellent theming, terrain, trees, flying over the crowds and the splashdown and a really good amount of airtime. No heartline/bodydance turns, unlike Intimidator.
At any rate, I'd probably be thrilled with an invert, too. Kings Island sorely needs another reliable people eater.
Why are we so "obsessed" with it being an invert?
Look at the top-20 attended non-Disney amusement parks in the US, and find one without a full-circuit inverted coaster....keep looking.....still looking? Yep, that's what I thought...
edit: Oh, and B&M inverts are trememdous people-eaters...
I'm not obsessed with it being an invert. I have information that points to it being an invert.
My biggest worry now with it possibly being an invert is the lack of trees on the current site. For some reason a big, fat terrain driven invert seems more appealing to me with scenery all around, Alpie style. Might look a bit barren out there.
Oh well, guess it's too early to complain in speculation.

I whole heartedly agree. I didn't get to ride Namtab, but It's still a blast forwards. Inverts are my favorites.
My Beautiful wife, Julia, is the best thing that has ever happened to me!
