So is not "having" a 13th floor in tall buildings, but it happens.

I vote they call it, "The Roller Coaster That Will Probably Kill You"

(if I ride it in the future and die as a direct result, please refer the press to this suddenly prophetic post)

Because you managed to get such a short post to drop onto the top of Page 13, I felt that was worthy of a +1...

Since this is Cedar Fair, I'm betting on Banshee Hawk or Flight Deck Banshee.

I think the superstition surrounding the name made people think it was just courting disaster for the ride to name it Banshee. We'll see how it works out this time.

I have an inside source that says that the backup plan for if "Banshee" is rejected again is to name the coaster "Macbeth."

But you must say "the Scottish coaster" .

If it was Six Flags it would be Banshee Ultimate Flight or Banshee: The Ride.

...sponsored by Snickers. I can see the signs around the park already: "If you thought we'd just name a ride 'Banshee,' you might be hungry."

...Fred: EHHHHHHH.

Jim: What's up with Fred?

Tim: Fred becomes a banshee when he's hungry. Fred eat a Snickers.

Fred: All better.

Announcer: you're not you when you're hungry. Snickers satisfies.

That sounds more like Fred becoming the Fonz when he gets hungry.

Fonzie + Banshee = Banzie (Fonshee?)

If anyone has a few minutes to whip up a photoshop, I'd like to see it.

I'd have edited the letters to say 'Fonshee', but that exceeds my photoshop skills. Believe me, I know...most people are in total disbelief when they hear that.

To me not one of the speed coasters I've ridden has been better than the Morgan/Arrow's and I think the seating sucks on B&M's Don't have much problem with the other types of B&M's because basically there isn't any other way to do em save a vest instead of bars.

Seating sucks on B&M hypers? I sat on this for a few days, not wanting to start a flame war or anything, especially I'm new here. But I have to say: I'm astounded.

And I would argue that people who love Magnum are in a small minority. The lines at Magnum are always smaller than MF, Maverick, TTD, and about on par with Raptor maybe. None of my friends and family members even remotely like the ride except for my kids.

Even my kids admit the ride is painful.

Many people who do not go to amusement parks say, "Oh, I've ridden rollercoasters when I was younger -- not any more, boy... they're rough, and all that."

I tell them, "Not true any more, try Diamondback. Seriously. These new generation of coasters are far more comfortable, fun and even intense at times. Don't let the heights intimidate you."

I even show them this article of Grandma celebrating her 90th birthday, riding over 100 times on Diamondback:

http://now.msn.com/woman-celebrates-90th-birthday-on-roller-coaster

If I was a park operator, if I had a choice between pleasing a (admittedly I'm making a big assumption) small and hardcore group of riders who love Magnum or try to draw a bigger group of people, I'd obviously go with B&M rides. Intamin a close second.

I've sworn off Magnum. But after this discussion, I'll try it again (and probably will regret it) along with my aunt and my close friend and his daughter and my kids. Maybe with belts really tight as someone suggested.

Off the point, does anyone know why Canada's Wonderland and B&M went with 4 a row seating for Leviathan rather than more spacious V open seating?

Yeah, I began formulating a response to that, too, but ultimately decided to let it go. Some things in life just don't make any sense whatsoever, and never will, until we meet our maker (or perhaps not even then).

Chuck's one of those things.

*Winky.*
