I've heard that stupid rumor for about 15 different coasters. I can't believe all the people that believe it!

See, there IS stuff you can do to make the pain more bearable, these people coming in through the gates ARE called "guests" after all... ;)
As mentioned above... Don't expect a quick fix.

Six Flags Great Adventure's Kingda Ka roller coaster is not currently in operation. We are "working" ( ;) ;) ) diligently to bring the ride back in operation as soon as possible. However, we do expect it will be closed for several weeks. And when it does open, expect frequent breakdowns.
We invite you to visit many of our other spectacular roller coasters with one train operation, or visit our slow food service.

This thing eats all records- even itself
Hilarious! Especially since that's what it sounded like when it happened. I swear, it sounded like it crashed, but when I saw it stalled on the end of the launch, I knew it would take forever to fix. *** Edited 6/14/2005 4:55:03 PM UTC by TwinsGP*** *** Edited 6/14/2005 4:56:16 PM UTC by TwinsGP***

Where did you hear that? The GAdv website is still showing "several weeks".
That entire train is destroyed as well as pieces of the track & break system; all of which need to be replaced by custom manufactured parts from Switzerland. Preliminary inside information tells me at least until Fright Fest. After everything is fixed, the ride needs to be inspected again, and re-tested all over.
It's true. And DAMN...while I didn't believe all the "Kinda Ka is reliable" crap spouted a month ago, I would have never imagined this!
