Chris, are you in the know at PKI? Because that thing about Valhalla is actually pretty beleivable. You could easily theme a ride like that to Tomb Raider!

The Pens will win the Stanley Cup in 2002!
I expect Inferno inside with theme and lights and stuff. I also expect the Thrust Air. Anything else would be a shock to me...

By the way, there is only ONE Giga In North America...and that is at Cedar Point. I don't expect these things to pop up everywhere because they cost so much money....:)
Am I the only person who remembers what Cedar Point added for their 125th season??
That's right! Banners everywhere, and the incredible Summer Sucktacular!!
Goes to show that anniversaries don't necessarily mean big coasters in this biz!

Who admits that CP's 130th season addition was pretty decent...
PKI already has, what? 13 coasters? I say its time for something new, like a mega-themed dark ride, but hey, if we get a giga, I will be the last one to complain. :)

Hmmm. I think PKI may be a lot smarter than we think and may actually introduce the tallest full curcuit coaster in the World in '02 and even if it is eclipse overseas, I have a feeling they would be choosing the best time to make one and actually hold the record for a long time in the US. I don't know any other park in the US that could currently build one taller than CP besides PKI. Even SFWoA is having problems getting one at 200'. This would definitely be an excellent strategy. How many big ones are left? I think Knott's is probobly the only other park that could pull that over the top of PKI. I don't know if Knott's even has a height restriction or not. I would think since they're so close to a major city like that but probobly could get a higher one if they wanted. Other than that, they're good to go. My guess is the tallest, fastest, longest coaster in the US.
I sure hope so!

I was at PKI today and they added more to the billboard. All I can say is that I don't think "Titanic" is the name of the ride. The sign is covered up with tarp and the landscaping is more of a jungle theme. Even though the whole thing is covered, parts of it were showing through little openings. I did see a statue of what looked like to be buddahish. The head had three faces on each side. I also saw one of the hands holding a sword. If I remember correctly in "Tomb Raider" there is a big living statue that comes alive that looked like that. Guys, I think Lara Croft has found a new home at PKI.
Also their were some workers over at the KCKC site scoping out the area. I did see markers with orange flags on them. I don't have any pics, because I left early to get to the auto shop because my battery on my car was getting low and I didn't want to be stuck somewhere on my way home. As soon as I get my car out of the shop I'll definately get pics. Later.:)

All I have to say is that records were meant to be broken. I hope PKI add's the world's tallest coaster.

I was at PKI today and like The BEASTmaster, I saw through the openings when the wind blew. Also at one point the top left corner of the tarp fell off revealing what looked like crumbling bricks. One final observation. To the left of the tarp is a statue now covered with a brown tarp. However when we arrived at the park it was uncovered. We arrived at 9:15. We were too stupid to actually pay attention to it, thinking it was meant to be uncovered. Did anyone else catch a glimpse of the statue and if so what exactly was it?
I dont know, but I think the Laura Croft portion might be going into the Action FX Theatre, and they put a coaster (hopefully) in the backdrop of the park. I dont see a ride themed to Laura Croft

There are also some fairly large boxes on the construction site now. They are wooden boxes with black covers and the ends of them seem to be an orangeish color. They are located pretty close to the fence and can be easily seen from the train. Anyone know what might be in them?
Also, PKI has built a new coaster every year for the past four years, why stop there? Five is a much more rounded number. Maybe..just maybe it will be a coaster.
They have also been saving a lot of money recently. I do not know much about their finances, but there last big spender was SOB. Reptar and the remodeling of the now WTRA probabily didnt cost anything in the shadow of SOB, so basically most likely they have a lot of money to buy something big. And remember, why would they be starting construction early unless it was huge. I dont count a dark ride huge. Im talking coaster. Unless its a small coaster, it usually is announced earlier than anything else. SOB followed this trend. So, what im basically saying is, I think that its a coaster, and that it might be themed to Tomb Raider.

PKI really has been going cheap lately. Even in '99, Face/Off and Drop Zone together were probably around $8-10 million. The 2001 additions (Reptar, log flume rennovation, FoF fix) were dirt cheap in the wake of SoB, and Sonny was probably a well scouted expense. PKI definitely has the money to build a big coaster, now they just need to do it.
I hope PKI Man is right!!! Boy o boy the anticipation builds up every day!!! Someone should go to PKI tomorrow and investigate the covered sign which is the piece to the puzzle, see if you can get a good view of it like early in the morning or something!

Who cares about records anymore? Bigger/Faster doesn't mean better... Maybe parks will learn this someday. Heck, take a look at Holiday World. Looks like they learned it already.

I agree, but it doesn't hurt to be the tallest or the fastest! To the parks the biggest and fastest always make them look good thus attracting more people to their park which is their key objective.
