Kinda Ka Only has 7400 Horsepower?

OK to be honest i am a fanboy. and i can't stand seeing cp loose another record, but it was bound to happen. I have to admit this ride looks sick. That flotter hill would be nasty with ttd lapbars. I don't think i would go to nj to ride it thought. Plus i don't really like yellow and red the blue and green look sickning. and i just got done reading all the posts from the initial kdk forms.

Ya I was a little jeasous, but who wants to see there homepark get sucker punched like that. The ride will be ausome, the name is gay but what r u gonna do.

Just give it a couple years and CP will over 500 ft and it won't matter anymore.

Hey, you gotta let us SFGADv fans enjoy our moment. CP has had several impressive record breakers over the years. The last time SFGAdv had a record breaker was Great American Scream Machine. It's about time it got another one. And it won't hold the record forever so let us enjoy it while it lasts !

Why in the world would CP even want to think of a 500' coaster @ this point? What other type of coaster are they going to get that is that tall, and offers a different ride experience? They have a full circuit traditional coaster @ 300'. They have a launched coaster @ 400', plus a big woody, one of the tallest inverts, plus a really good full circuit invert, a hyper, etc., what else do you really think they're going to put in there to go 500' at this point?

I hope they don't go that high for some time. Its getting kind of old. I'd much rather see other types of coasters & records broken before height again...

KdK gets up to a higher speed faster. If you know these two (top speed, time it takes to get there) length of launch track is already factored in.

That's assuming constant acceleration, which I'm sure this motor is unable to do.

Welcome back, red train, how was your ride?!

Horsepower is a unit of power: energy (mv^2) / time.

Notice that distance does not factor into the equation. If the launch profiles are remotely proportional (obviously KdK scales up in the energy and down in the time) it won't matter if the acceleration is constant.

First of all, check your spelling, grammar and TOS. Second of all, watch your homophobia and your internet chat shorthand (again, TOS). Third of all, we're all a little Jesus.

And shouldn't you be happy that more big coasters are being built? Does this make CP a worse park, somehow?

Um... what is that. And no it doesn't make cp a worse park its just kinda an insult. its the same coaster with a little bigger dimensions and a second hill. thats what i ment by a sucker punch

Wow, I'm happy we can all relax now that those vicious rumors of fan-boyism have been dispelled....ROFL!

Spell it with me...

HYDRAULIC

Good God, we've had these rides around now for several years. You'd think people would learn to spell it by now. It's worse than "millennium."

Thank you David Tidmarsh!

No further explanation needed. I'm hopelessly lost.

MForce Aholic sez:

"The ride will be ausome, the name is gay..."

Are you using "gay" as a put down? If so, you realize you're offending a lot of Coasterbuzzers, both gay and hetero, and that includes myself.

The name can be dumb. The name can be stupid. The name can suck. But to say the name is "gay" and mean dumb, stupid, or sucks is insulting.

At the risk of losing a potential customer, let me say this; GROW UP!

mOOSH

Or atleast don't come into a community and start spouting off stuff like that. For all you know, the site owner and every moderator and half the people that visit this site could be gay.

Hmmm...I smell troll, its whats for dinner.

Oh, yeah, and Jeesh!(haven't done that this week yet...)

That's the thing about words though...through time their meaning can change. The latest generation has changed the meaning (at least the slang meaning) of many words like sick, bad, killer. Look at the original meaning of the word gay--adj 1: bright and pleasant; promoting a feeling of cheer. Obviously the first thing that comes to mind when you hear the word these days is far from its original definition. Like it or not, it's the progression of the English language. I mean, how many people thought that when bling-bling was first coined that it would end up in Webster's Dictionary as an acceptable term?

It's still me, here from the beginning back in 1999. Add 1500+ posts to the number I have in the info section if you care about such things.
Hay MForce I am a CP fan boy who is jealous too but in one way I am actually happy CP had its TTD records get beaten. Why did CP build TTD well I am sure part of the reason was to get the record back when after Steel Dragon beat out MF. If CP had no competition know one else competing with them their would be no MF or TTD or even possibly a future 500 footer.

But he was saying that you can determine distance using an equation, which you can't. Also, the hp equation would be K(½mv²) / Δt.

The length of the launch area can compensate too, if it is longer than TTDs... do we know if this is the case?

He's not trying to calculate the length of the launch track. He's trying to figure out if horsepower is affected by/dependant on/related to launch track length. Given the other variables, it's not.

And thanks for the remedial physics lesson. *** Edited 10/30/2004 4:46:20 AM UTC by ApolloAndy***

2pts for Andy! He got mad skillz!

;)

mforce aholic.....dont post anymore, please? i dont like having to translate badly spelled and/or grammtically structured posts and having to stop myself from laughing hysterically at blatant stupidity and rudeness at 2am.....do us a favour, go join another board, lol....

Tim....who wonders....could mforce aholic be CPNut? or his brother? uncle? cousin?....the possibilities are endless...

still trying to think of a good signature...

First off low hp doesnt mean anything. IF i put a 400 hp engine in a car that ways 2,000 lbs and a 400 hp engine that ways 3,000 lbs the lighter car would accelerate faster because it it lighter. Maybe the trains are lighter.

Also maybe the launch system is different. Everybody right away is saying that this sucks. All the coasters at sfgadv are pretty reliable. Most of the time are shut down for other reasons ,ie people throwing up on them.

Also if a ride is constantly breaking down. Its not the parks fault. Its the company's who built it. The parks mechanics can only fix the coasters and check them over. IF they do there job and the coaster still breaks down its not their fault.

Just give it a couple years and CP will over 500 ft and it won't matter anymore.

How about you take a couple years and learn proper english.

I was actually thinking they might put in a dive machine.
