Kennywood..New Ride 2005?

They explain what they are doing in the article linked above.
I guess i kinda bypassed that..or mis-read it lol
I agree it's not to bad on some days...but I too have experienced days when it was a total traffic jam.

It seem like they might be totally demolishing the existing buildings. My guess is the new buildings for the Group sales will be toards the McDonald's side (I think it's Eastward.) The only real thing that would hinder the expansion towards the parking lot is maybe the Ski/Sky Lift. They definetly need restrooms up at the front gate for before the park opens.

It seems there bag check is going to be done much like PKI's is.

Overall it'll be a nice addition for the long run.

I guess if they demolished the old entrance and shifted it all to the right a little bit there shouldn't be any problembs at all. I do not think they will try to mess with the ski lift at all. So shifting toward McDonalds would be the best bet. I do agree though, it would be a nice addition...and probably time saving also.
The Ski lift is staying. You need the Ski Lift to transport people from the 3rd level parking lot.

They are expanding the Guest Relations office, as well as adding a bathroom. I have't seen the plans myself, but I did hear that the entrance will look very cool:)

Of course in the very near future, something else will be changed...

Kpjb knows what I'm talking about;)

I see somebody knows something we don't.

Come on...ya know ya wanna spill the beans ;)

Oh, are you talking about Thunderbolt's Revenge? Or Jackrabbit's Revenge? I confuse the 2;).

Gosh, I will defintly not skip Kennywood next spring. I need my Phantom fix, and that Exterminator credit, now that I have an unthemed clone under my belt.

Here's how I look at it

1975 - Jog Jammer

1985 - Raging Rapids

1995 - Pittsburgh Plunge

2005 - ???NEW WATER RIDE???

its seems that every 10 years in the past, Kennywood has built a new waterride. I hope the tradition continues.

Setpoint Swing Thing over Raging Rapids. I still think that's a great idea. Hershey did a great job with theirs, I think Kennywood could make something special out of that and not really take up much extra space.

Those Swing Things are REALLY expensive though....surprisingly so!

Personally, I'll take GregLeg's Afterburner....shoot, I'd take one of THOSE in my backyard...:)

Oh, and the entrance....I think Dawny would agree with a *make-over* on that...;)

I personally am not a big water rider person. I go for the coasters. I guess i'm hoping they could squeeze in another coaster in the futere. Besides...do ya think there would be room for another water ride?
No need to add another water ride;)

I didnt think there was a need for another. Keep sendin out those hints though...anything is helpful.
Well I dont see anything major ride wise for next year maybe a New or Used flat ride. But 2006 I think will be the year of the coaster at Kennywood.Im still thinking an inverted coaster in the old Steel Phantom inversion site.Coming this spring "RESURECTION PHANTOM LIVES" It seems like the logical location for a new coaster.Think about it,they keep saying were land-locked no place for any major expansion.1st they created all this empty space with the revamp of the old Steel Phantom into Phantoms Revenge.2nd they now have no coaster in the park that goes upside down so it seems the logical choice would be a coaster with inversions.3ed they still as of yet have not done any landscaping of anykind in or around the Phantom or where the old inversions and such were located,For that matter they havnt done anything with that whole area even the low ground hugging turnaround. And we all know it aint like Kennywood to not have landscaped that area if they dont have something planed for the area because it seems Kennywood takes alot of pride in there landscaping.4th what else can they do with the land they created by removing Steel Phantom,Its not a good location for anything else but a coaster.I think they are saving up some money and they are going to blow us all away with a ground hugging, steep drop into the ravine coaster that will make good use out of the terain(as does all of there coasters) with some serious leg chopper type effects, and such.Combine that with twisting the track over around and through the T-Bolt and Phantom, and I see a top 10 coaster if its done right.

COASTER COUNT SO FAR:52 BEST WOOD;THE BEAST BEST STEEL;STEEL PHANTOM R.I.P. PHANTOMS REVENGE
You know...i couldn't agree with you more! A nice inverted coaster in that empty space would be really nice. They do have the space for one now and inverted coasters do not take up that much space...i noticed they took out some que line areas that were old for the phantom. You're also right about the landscaping..they usually dont let that go undone. I think another coaster would tie in real well with the Phantom and T-bolt.
There is no "hint"--KpExpress is just making a reference to King Kahuna, a Top Spin installed last year that used water effects before they started messing up the ride.
Messing up the ride is right. I was really just hopin to hear about a new kick butt ride ;)
Remember the reason for the Phantom rebuild was that the GP didn't like the multiple inversions. They are the ones that pay the bills.Don't look for one anytime in the near future.

I think the reason had more to do with the fact that it was a painfull Arrow headbanger. You couldnt even wear earings, they made you take them off before you walked into the station.

Everyone is talking about space concerns but no mention of a rocket, or a dive machine? :) Imagine a B&M Diver that dove into the ground and came out in the ravine facing the river. Good times!

I think a Huss frisbee would do Kennywood right someday as well. *** Edited 10/28/2004 4:27:10 AM UTC by eightdotthree***

True, but the GP doesn't know the difference between an Arrow and a B&M. They just remember that the inversions hurt. Most of these people haven't been to any other park other than Kennywood (OK, maybe Idlewild too) so this is their total roller coaster experience. Like I said, I don't foresee them considering taking a risk with a coaster with multiple inversions in the near future.
