Was anyone not at KW this past Sunday?
I was at a friend's BBQ down in Bethel Park. So there. ;)
(I was at the park on Monday instead. Pretty light crowds, we hit all the coasters in the first hour and then just kind of drifted around eating our way through the park.)

"You seem healthy. So much for voodoo."
We did both potato patches and did the belgian waffle thing at close.
We also got around the park and did everything at least twice Even though reasonably busy as it was sunday.
Kennywood is definetely my kinda park, No rush, Not expensive and A Ton of Fun and atmosphere.
The park has the atmosphere and the charm to keep everyone coming back.
Sorry we didn't get to meet up with you Rob, Bill talked about you most of the day, and sorry Greg, we missed you by one day,
Katie
Maybe you'd be able to keep a lower profile if you didn't use your real name on message boards! :)

Sunday totally blew my claims of the low crowd holiday weekend. It was the most crowded I've personally seen the park in years. Still not totally ridiculous, but crowded.
The thing is, we were still able to do pretty much everything we wanted and like others said, the pace is so laid back that it never becomes frustrating.
I think I'll prefer the SF route and blame the weather of the past few weeks for being crappy every weekend then suddenly getting super nice on the 29th. Everyone who had wanted to visit in May probably showed. One or two nice weekends earlier in the month would have probably thinned crowds a bit.
As far as eating, there's just something about the quality/price ratio that makes you not feel like a schlub for going overboard.
I didn't know Gonch was supposed to be there- it would have been nice to meet up with him as well.
I need to be more proactive with the meeting calendar on this site. :) I only knew Gator and CoasterqueenTRN were going to be there because of previous conversations - and still came within 45 minutes of missing them the entire day.
I was at Kennywood twice last year- once on the Sunday immediately before the 4th of July and again in late October for Phantom Fright Nights. On both days the park was pretty empty and we got more than our share of rides on everything we wanted. Sunday was pretty busy but nothing was ever out of control- the most we waited was about 20 minutes for Phantom's Revenge. I would have liked to have ridden more but I didn't walk away from the park because I still got to ride everything I wanted and then some.
One question- why does Kennywood always wait until the crowds build to add a second train to their coasters? If they know it's going to be a busy day, why not start the day with two trains on everything? Just seems backwards to me.
If they can fit it in there.

The Jack Rabbit and Racer are the only ones that can start with two trains.
Because of the braking systems on the other two, we can't add them until the crowds allow constant full trains. I explained this better before, and I'm tired now... if you search, there's a better explanation.
Hi
JR didn't lose anything to the additional seat-beltage, Racer is still the TON of hand-slappin' fun it ever was, and yes, T-Bolt was running with all due ferocity.
PRev, best steelie on the trip...thanks in part to SFDL...;)

Rob, from what I gather from kpjb previous posts is that if the Phantom's Revenge train isn't full it drags out of the brake run before the station, so they then have to stop the other train on the lift hill which freaks out the guests.
Not 100% sure about Thunderbolt, I dont think it has any rollback potential anywhere.
