"Sometimes I just kill myself!" - The Joker
As for rides, Kennywood knows what the hell they are doing. They have some more recent flats as well as flats you really don't see anymore. I was amazed to see the flying carpet open. How many of those do you see? I think there are 2 or 3 in the US.
They don't need a new coaster, they have enough in the park to keep everyone busy. If they built a new ride and didn't have the room to expand again, like they did in Lost Kennywood, I wouldn't want them to take out anything. Everything in that park is a perfect fit. I could care less if they got anything new. They do just fine without the huge gimmick coasters. They got it down pat.

Glad I'm not the only one who loves Exterminator that much! ;)
And the award for best empty response to 20+ people telling you you're wrong goes to...
The truly masterful touch was suggesting an Arrow megalooper...you know, like the one they just whacked all the loops from.
Wow.

NOTE: Severe fecal impaction may render the above words highly debatable.
Seems like everytime I've been there, no matter what day of the week, The crowds about the same size, The lines are about the same length and you always have fun.
Chuck, who would be glad to have son of boulderdash at Kennywood.
Unlike some SF parks that won't add a train no matter what

I agree Kennywood needs a new coaster, if they never put one in, I wouldn't care. That park is so chock full of flats that a lot of people just don't find anymore. And this park actually takes awesome care of their woodies! Gotta love the TLC they get.
I think if Kennywood got another coaster it should be wood. But, until they expand some more, I doubt they would take out anything to put a coaster in it's place.
Kennywood knows what they are doing, and I can't wait to see how the Screamin' Swing turns out ;-)

I just got back from CP and they have the big monster rides there. Now I am ready to hit KW again for the quaintness and charm of the place, especially the lights at night.
Our goal is to have a nice and relaxing trip at the park and be there from the opening to the close.
I think we all get tired and bored with what we regularly have (I live 45 minutes from SFGAm and I have not gone this season yet -- my season pass is even from SFOG, not SFGAm).
Parks have their niches, and KW is rooted deeply in the past. And it's just a nice place to go.
I wish I lived in PA! There are so many parks and types of parks there. If you do not like KW, go elsewhere. But if you want the classic amusement park feel, with classic rides, it's the place to be. I'm very excited about my trip!

Gonch, glad I got to meet you on Sunday. I also applaud your statement, lol.
Yeah, me too. Too brief and too late, but still nice to put more faces to the names. :)
Chuck, who should have signed up for that Event a club had as Thunderbolt was running awesome.
How can a woodie that you considered almost third tier suddenly become amongst your favorites? There is hope for Boulderdash :)

Mike I totally agree. They need more parking period, and in a better location. Nothing ruins the walk to your car at night then climbing a huge hill and trying to find your car.
the parking isn't that far. even if you park on te 3rd level, you can take the shuttle down to the bottom or you can get on the ski lift. They're both free and you don't have to walk much. i never paid for parking when you can park for FREE. America needs a little work out. People are so lazy.

Big friggin' surprise. Gonch comes on my day off.
I'm not joking about calling ahead and making sure you're not there. It's part of the KW trip planning ritual. :)

I met Gonch, Was supposed to meet Rob Ascough also, At least Rideman shared a big part of the day with Katie, I and about 9 others.
I was keeping an eye out for you guys all day. Dumb luck that I didn't spot anyone until after 9pm. Was anyone not at KW this past Sunday?
Posting here is a whole different experience when you know the person behind the screen name. :)

Heh, we parked on the second level. I even used the path rather than the escalator both to and from the park (and was pulling the wagon with my son and a couple of bags in it : ) ). Then again, this is the first time in probably 6 or 7 years that I didn't just slide into the pay parking area when we arrived - not because I'm lazy, but because I'm not cheap. ;)
