It’s official! El Toro- Greatest woody in the world!

Remember when CP were the roller coaster capital of thw world?? Ummm, there's a few parks out there as well that have the same amount of coasters or are a coaster or two shy. Why not give Pleasure Beach Blackpool the title Coaster Capital of the Wolrd?

El Toro is an Intamin, so basically the park *CAN* count on two things:

1) It will have it's share of problems and may even eject a rider or two.

2) Enthusiasts will line up to call it the "greatest woodie in the world".

SO true...just so it doesn't eject a "significant" number of riders, everything will be fine...maybe just go OTSR's from the beginning? *evil*

Personally, I have no idea how either will *impact* me, but based solely on what I know about ME (and my penchant for tunnels), I think Voyage will rank higher FOR ME....

And when exactly did these people ride Voyage?
I took a virtual ride on Voyage just the other day. Without a doubt- the greatest wooden coaster in the world!
"And when exactly did these people ride Voyage"?

I don't think "those" people expected Voyage, and visa versa.

You are probably right about that.

As much as I wanted Intamin wood in NA, the new plug and play woodies that is, I am more excited about Voyage than El Toro. I think the reason is that i wanted a Colossos clone over here, but with more airtime than any coaster, Voyage just appears to be more promises.

They are both going to deliver different rides. They are both going to be good, solid rides. That I am sure of.

Voyage-the design appears to rely on forces and airtime. I predict Voyage as being rough and more "wood coaster-like"

El Toro-is going to be all about speed and intensity and more smooth and "not wood-like."

Its like comparing apples and oranges. They are both going to deliver different rides. All depends what you prefer. I'm all about speed and intensity. I'm no airtime whore so I'm more excited about El Toro (although I do hope im wrong about it being smooth. I want a rough ride) Does that surprise anyone? haha see signature

Dante, like the sig. Now you do have a point about the two coasters, but for me, I love speed and intensity, but am more partial to air. Now I'm sure there's going to be some who will complain about Voyage being a bit rough, but aren't woodies supposed to be rough?

Yet, what about that Kentucky Tumbler? I've heard some good things. Based on the spects and some cool photos I proclaim Kentucky Tumbler as the greatest woody in the world!

^ LOL....RUMBLER.

Then again, I think Tumbler fits in better with the moonshine idea I had for theming the ride... ;)

I am making a trip soon to Holiday World and Beech Bend on the same day. I can't wait to ride both new coasters.

lol. What's next? Disney World is the happiest place on earth! Those Disney marketing people would have to have some pretty serious testicular fortitude to try to pull off something like that....

Oh wait.

If Six Flags advertised El Toro as the happiest coaster in the world, we wouldn't be having this discussion. Niftiest, prettiest, meanest, baddest, wildest; the adjectives are infinitely argumentative so no one will make a stink about harmless claims. Make a claim that a coaster is the longest, tallest, fastest, largest, or best in the world then you better back up the claim up with some facts. Incorrect on this website, corrections are sure to come in a matter of seconds. As mentioned, what’s with the double standard? Why does Six Flags get the walk?

Maybe Mr. Six knows something we don't? He's really old yet always seems very excited about riding new coasters. Yet, he's a little senile and seems to think every coaster new ride is the best in the world. *** Edited 4/18/2006 9:09:54 PM UTC by rc-madness***

Lol, its not a double standard. "Best" or "greatest" is just as subjective (or infinately argumentitive) as "happiest" or "wildest." "Tallest" and "longest" are objective. Its a number. Its something you can get a tape measure out and do the work if you wanted to. There is no way to measure "greatest" or "best." You could potentially get some sort of consensus for greatest or best based on polls, but that's still just a consensus, and not any sort of hard fact.

Objective:

Tallest
Longest
Fastest
Shortest
etc.

Subjective:

Happiest
Smelliest
Best
Greatest
Prettiest
Ugliest
etc. *** Edited 4/18/2006 9:10:33 PM UTC by matt.*** *** Edited 4/18/2006 9:13:24 PM UTC by matt.*** *** Edited 4/18/2006 9:31:03 PM UTC by matt.***

I think it was just an honest mistake on the part of the SF official advertising firm. It should read "The Greatest Wooden Roller Coaster You'll Have To Pay Extra To Ride." :)
Bear, you are the "greatest" poster on CoasterBuzz (as awarded by dexter)! Why have your posts been so short lately?
