Intamin coming to SFWoA???

And there's even lots of idle land where the race track used to be. So they have tons of land left.

Race track? I've never given SeaWorld a good look, there used to be a race track over there? Hmm, maybe they will add a new Go Kart track :)
Anyway, what is the old race track?

If there was a racetrack over on the SeaWorld side, why the heck are the neighbors complaining about a rollercoaster being built?!

The land clearing just over the boardwalk is for a ride. the CASINO! Not a new coaster. I didnt see any Intamin track yesterday when I was there.

first off the race track was by the wild rides parking lot. It is where thistledown used to be. Funtime never owned it, and it was a long time a go, way before i was born. You can see a sign for it if you drive on Rt. 43. There'll be a dirt road, that is where it was located.

HurricaneGeauga- Just in case
This is getting out of control. The fact of the matter is that the report on coasternet isn't true. Sorry CoasterBGW, Their isn't any Intamin track at the park besides Superman: Ultimate Escape, and construction has not begun on the 2002 hypercoaster.

Just because MF is 300ft, doesn't mean SFWOA can't build a better one at 200ft. Sure the height and speed of MF couldn't be matched, but how about airtime, smoke filled tunnels, a 90 degree drop and some *actual* theming? Not to mention, excellent terrain...

zero g said that it will be a chance morgan at around 250 feet.

Dont they have a height limit of 200 feet

Lets all think about this. Anyone who is using "CP has an Intamin Giga already, why would SFWoA want an Intamin Hyper?" for reasoning on why they won't get it, listen to me for a minute.

So what? Do you really think the GP knows that MF is Intamin? Probably not, and if they do, I doubt they care. So, if an Intamin Hyper was built at SFWoA, how many would say "I'm not going to Six Flags, because Millennium Force is bigger, built by the same company, and the park has more rollercoasters!"? I bet less than 2 would say that, probably less than 1.
That would be like deciding to goto CP because they have Corkscrew, which has 3 inversions and is an Arrow, instead of going to SFWoA because they only have an Arrow with 2 inversions.

Also, I'm sure a couple of you think that it won't be them becuase they already have a near-hyper height Intamin. Who cares? Look at the park right now, they already have 3 Vekoma coasters, so why would they not want 2? Most parks with a large selection of coasters have many built by the same company, look at CP, Corkscrew & Magnum, Mantis & Raptor. Being built by Intamin would in no way stop SFWoA from buying a Hyper from them.

No, and they likely dont care either

I disagree with you here. A lot of people would say that very thing. Heck, I was with a family of ACErs earlier this year @ SFA and the dad was like (referring to S:ROS) "Yeah this is good, but it's not as tall as MForce". So if even so-called 'enthusiasts' get caught up on heights, why not most people?

That would be like deciding to goto CP because they have Corkscrew, which has 3 inversions and is an Arrow, instead of going to SFWoA because they only have an Arrow with 2 inversions.

And I'm sure that back in the day, people did exactly that. I know people that go to SFGAm who like Shockwave more than Demon because it is higher/faster/loopier. Also, most people in the Chi area go to SFGAm over say Santa's Village and KiddieLand because SFGAm has more coasters!

With that being said, SFWoA could get any coaster they wanted, Intamin or otherwise. But I *do* think it will be a CMC.

Um... CP has good rides. You haven't been there and why are you saying that CP needs to build good rides?

A record breaker is an awesome ride - **COUGH**Millennium Force**COUGH**

Why are you such a smart ass?!?!

timberwolf16:
Even though NitroExplodes hasn't been to Cedar Point (or at least hasn't added the coasters into his track record); that is his opinion, and you can't argue with that! I personally think Millennium Force has a dull-looking layout; that's my opinion. In real-life, I think it is a terrific ride. That's my opinion, too.

Just because you don't agree with someone's opinion doesn't make that person a "smart ass." That's uncalled for; reverting to name-calling is very childish.

P.S. --Why am I being dragged (via the evil quote tool) into all of the controversial posts!:)

My view on manufacturers. Before about 1995, I had no clue what coaster manufacturers existed. Hell, before I rode my first B&M in 1994 (Raptor), I thought all the coasters at a park were just built by that park. I assumed that Arrow track was just how steel tubular track was. I had no idea that other types of track even existed. Most of the GP sees MF and thinks..."hey, CP got a new coaster...and they redesigned the track again...wonder why they stopped using that boxy track on Mantis and Raptor." The GP has no idea that Intamin is the builder, and they don't care...a hyper is a hyper. Of course, I would love to see SFWoA get an Intamin hyper similar to Expedition GF. I LOVE Intamin hypers.

No way Jman!
I though the exact same thing! I even thought all SF parks were clones, Seaworld Ohio was the only SF park, and I was afraid of coasters! (Villian in the rain solved that :) ) and I never understood how cars stayed on the track.

hey 2hostyl, you totally messed up your answer to the question about GP knowing MF was built by Intamin. You said "I disagree with you here. A lot of people would say that very thing. Heck, I was with a family of ACErs earlier this year @
SFA and the dad was like (referring to S:ROS) "Yeah this is good, but it's not as tall as MForce". So if even so-called
'enthusiasts' get caught up on heights, why not most people? " You talked to a family of ACErs. Almost everyone who is part of a coaster club knows who built MF. I agree with what TrBiggar though because the GP has no clue who built what. All the care about is what it looks like and is it worth the wait. unlike us enthusiasts we ride anything.

Saying "Youve never been there before and why are you saying they dont have good rides" is not an opinion last time i checked. That would be a statement and a question, and the only reason I called him a smart*****is because he always makes smart*****comments in lots of threads.
Hey mods, just my opinion, but I'd say this thread is done.
