In 2003 the Midwest is the place to Be

wow, this got off topic FAST...

anyway, im not trying to sound all mr. party pooperish or nothing but who really cares what states are included in the midwest, its a stupid argument, and i dont know why people are going out of their way to look it up.  secondly, we all have our opinions about those states, i found them quite boring myself (im not a person to go ooo and ahhh about looking @ some rocks or some animals locked up in cages), but thats just my opinion.

i do think a new amusement park will bring some crouds in, however.  i mean, people drive hours all the time for the dinkiest little parks, why not this one.

but of course something is gonna go wrong (as always) and it probably will be suspended to a further date, or some stupid locals will ruin it all for lame reasons, so im not getting too excited...

Sometimes when I think of the midwest I think of the Big Ten Conference.  With the exception of Penn State. they are all in the area considered the midwest.  Of course Penn State is school number 11, the newest member of the conference, so in your mind if you take them out of the picture it works releatively well.  Besides, living in Ohio my whole life, I have always thought of us as a midwestern state, but have also always thought of Ohio as the easternmost end of the midwest.

All I wanted to know was where I can find  a loop d loop coaster around my school sir. I am sorry if you think that it was a useless comment but I am new to this Coaster Buzz thing.

close to arkansas?
maybe libertyland
 sfstl
sdc
or maybe some of the parks in tx.
cant think of any others.......

Swoosh,

you did state that they are rumors, I just wanted to point out that parks sometimes tend to wait and see how the current season is before deciding what to get for the next season, that's all.

Jim W.

Oh I agree fully with the "wait and see theory".  The parks will only put in such rides if they feel the can get decent ROI.  As I said before those were just "rumors" of what may or MAY NOT be coming to the Heartland.

Some of you have some seriously messed up views about Omaha and the midwest. What the hell is wrong with the midwest? Why do people consistantly get high and mighty when they talk about the midwest? You people are blind! I don't care where you live, DC, NYC, it doesn't matter! You leave the city, you're in farm country. That's the way it works. America's "Second City," Chicago is in the state of Illinois. I think Illinois produces more corn than Nebraska, but people conveniently look past those little equalizing facts. Any one of you, where ever you live, anywhere in America, name anything fun there is to do in your city and I'll find the equivalent in Omaha. I can't stand all this high and mighty bull **** about "Oh I'd never visit the midwest, all there is there is cornfields." Jesus man! Wake up!

Sorry to be so harsh, but the ignorance of some people just annoys the hell out of me.

Yeah, some big city people are so egotistical.

......"and to your Right is some Carn, to your Left is somemore Carn, and Straight in front of you.....is the Road!" (Spoken with that TWANG, with Sarcasm Intended)

Ya, there's a lot of Corn in the Midwest, but still, it's a pretty decent looking place. So it's got no Mountains, Majestic Valleys, or an abundancy of nice people, but it still wouldn't detour me from visiting again.

A week and a half this topic has laid dormant, and you, omaha-cat, bring it back up to ***** and moan. As I said before, assuming everything you said is true (except the comment about Illinois and corn, IL is actually more proficient at producing soybeans) and you *could* do in Omaha everything that you can do in Chi, NYC, DC, etc...then what incentive do I have to go there?

So some people never want to got to Nebraska (self included). Life's hard, get over it! I'm not keeping you from going, so why should you care that I never wish to visit?
