In 2003 the Midwest is the place to Be

With the recent news article on the potential new park to be built in Omaha that could include a wooden racer, an invert (probably SLC), and a liquid coaster.  Not to mention the new invert that could go to Valleyfair it looks like 2003 might be the break out year for the Minnesota, Iowa, and Nebraska area for coaster enthuisasts.

If these rides are added would any of you folks be compelled to visit the Heartland?

Excalibur Crew for 2002!

I wouldn't visit Nebraska or Iowa if they had a 400' Intamin Mega.  Those states are just bad.

Funny. When ever I think of a "bad" state, Iowa is probably last on the list.

Well, maybe by bad he meant there's nothing there except for potatos... lots and lots of potatos.

I knew someone would say something like that. Nebraska isn't just a bunch of country hicks, Omaha is a fairly large city and, we do have a very big zoo (eighth largest in the US, I believe).

Well, apparently Worlds of Fun is getting a big woodie, that they have been trying to get for a long time.
I thought that Idaho was the state known for potatoes and that Iowa and Nebraska were known for corn?

Spacecase, have you ever been to those states?  And how is cold, cheesy Wiconsin any better?

You can't spell "dishonorable" without "honorable."

WOW a big zoo! Oh my! That sure makes me want to go to Nebraska! That new park sounds interesting, but it doesn't make the midwest any different then it already is.

Now if only Cedar Fair could buy Adventureland.....
Have you ever been out-side of California Cali-Coaster-Fan?  Every state has something interesting to offer if you know where to look.
I never said Wisconsin was great, nor did I say it was going to be the place to be in 2003! It actually sucks! My profile says I live in Madison, which is where I go to school, but normally I live in Kenosha, whose only redeeming qualities is that it's very close to SFGAm and it's right in between Milwaukee and Chicago.

How would Adventureland be any better off if Cedar Fair bought it? We know how much they need a Camp Snoopy area and a couple S&S shot towers. What else could they possibly do for them? ?They already have around the same amount as all of their other parks besides CP and Dorney. No offense, unless my home park raked in the cash, Cedar Fair would be the last corporate park I would want to buy it, especially for coaster additions. That's just me though. Hopefully, Adventureland, Jazzland, Visionland, Silverwood, etc. will all stay independent.
Yo spacecase8310 I'm from Nebraska so be nice and It's not that bad of a state.

I think that those states are cool, but its going to take a little more than what *may* be coming in 2003 for me to plan a trip there.  if I'm driving through the area then I might stop by, but I wouldn't go out of my way to go there with the current product.  I'm sure that in a few years, though, that the area will become something to see.

Bob says be patient and stop state bashing in a thread that's concerned with parks.

Valleyfair getting a new inverted coaster possible for 2003 and the new park which may open in Omaha on memorial day for 2003 I think it will happen and I havent heard anything if Adventureland or Worlds Of Fun will be adding anything for next year, I would say the Midwest will be the place to be in 2003.
