In 2003 the Midwest is the place to Be

Interesting how all the states around Missouri are "midwestern" states but Missouri is not included

Oops. My bad. Sorry I forgot good old Missouri.

I always just called Ohio part of the Ohio Valley with Pennsylvania, Kentucky, and Illinois.
The Northwest territory is in Canada, so I wouldn't think that that would count.  However, I want to apologize for not saying Missouri or Kansas as they are considered Midwest.  Its funny in elementary school when we were learning different geographical areas Ohio wasn't incuded in the Midwest, but rather in the "Ohio Valley" like I mentioned above

I guess it all just depends on how much you want to break down the US. There was a post about this a year or so ago on another site where I also said I consider OH, IN, MI part of the Midwest and people there seemed to favour the "Ohio Valley" classification. I think it's mincing the regions down too finely for my tastes as I just like to say West Coast, the Plains, Midwest, East Coast and the South, it makes things more simple! I could never consider OH an eastern state because it still has the more central mentality and isn't nearly as leftist as the more coastal states are. Regions to me are based just as much on the people who live in them as they are on location.

Regardless anyone dissing Iowa obviously doesn't respect wood very much or they'd already be wanting to go for Arnold's and their Legend :-)

Colin: Reminding people that great wood is almost always found in obscure locations :-)

I'm hoping to take a mid-west coaster trip with my friends in the summer of 2003 or 2004.  I already live in Colorado so I am already in the mid-west pretty much.
SFGAm is probably getting a new coaster in 2003 too.

You can do a lot in Wisconsin F.Y.I....  snow boarding, skiing, snowmobiling, fishing,(any sport really), We have roller coasters too.  Name something that you guys can do that people in Wisconsin can't.

Oh Yeah, we love beer too  ;)

I would call OH IN and MI Mideastren states (That not all in that list this issn't a geography disscucion or is it) KS MO NB IA are part of the MidWest as for other states like WI MN IL.

That's not roughness that intensity
You'd have an easier time defining a hypercoaster than defining the Midwest states. Good luck--you'll need it. :P

The florida parks are do for something new.
All I know is that if you don't consider Indiana midwestern then there's something wrong with you. Whenever there is news, here they always refer to it as a midwestern state. Indiana's about as midwestern as they come.

Anyway, getting back to the point at hand here.  Almost all the parks in the HEART LAND (MO, IA, KS, NE) will be getting coasters, if the rumors pan out.

Adventureland - Steel coaster

SFSL - Hyper

WOF - CCI woodie and/or Setpoint Swing Thing (w/water)

SDC - Setpoint Swing Thing (w/water)

New Park in Omaha!!!

GO HUSKERS!

Right now these are all rumors except the Omaha Papa Park and we do not know how concrete those plans are at the moment. Adventureland, WOF and SDC getting something may depend on how the parks do in 2002.
Swoosh, dont forget about Valleyfair something may happen for us in 2003 maybe a B&M inverted who knows.

Well JWolf, I'm pretty sure I said that they were rumors before I posted anything, but thanks for restating that .

I go to school in Arkansas and was wondering if there are any coasters nearby. I like the coasters that go in loops and go fast like a racecar. Zoooooom.

Why are you posting these useless comments?

All I wanted to know was where I can find  a loop d loop coaster around my school sir. I am sorry if you think that it was a useless comment but I am new to this Coaster Buzz thing.
The Midwest is full of splendour,  I've lived in Ohio my entire life and as far as Ohioans have been taught we are Midwest as it gets. Having lived in Northern Ohio and other places I can say that the Ohio valley as far as we are concerned is in south east Ohio between the hills mainly around Belmont and Guernsey county near Wheeling, WV.

We were always taught that Nebraska was a Plains State, but got me I woudln't consider it Midwest, but hey whatever floats your boat.
