Come on, Magnum isn't boring. Would you rather sit in a chair or ride Magnum? Sitting in a chair is boring, while riding Magnum is not.
I still say Magnum is one of the best roller coasters out there. Really, if you have a positive attitude while going on the ride it will be fun. If you ride it saying "this ride is going to suck" you will get off it thinking that, even if it didn't.

The top 3 all time cobrarolls.
1)Raptor's
2)Deja Vu's (times 3)
3)Batman Knight Flight's
I humbly re-submit that if a ride is painful, it's not boring.
I know I shouldn't write anything more, but-
You can't wheel a wheelcahir up a 60 degree angle. Even today, most roller coasters have a first drop angled in the fifties. A ramp? Come On! And as for the view, what kind of view does Nitro have? A forest? Magnum's got a nice, picturesque beach, blue wave lapping the white sand, with a breeze coming in off the lake...
*settles back in chair, and thinks, "Ahhhhh...."*
(SF) Great American, who never visited Cedar Point until '98, but still thinks Magnum rules.
And yeah, I believe if a ride is painful it can still be boring. Do you find pain exciting?
I was kidding about the wheelchair ramp, but that thing *is* a ramp! Most coasters may drop at less than sixty degrees, but most coasters aren't hypercoasters (designed for speed, drops, airtime, etc) and most drops aren't 200 feet. There's nothing to that drop, just a pullover, then a loooong ramp, and then a big pullout. It's a ramp because there's no feeling of dropping, just speeding down it because the drop is too darn gradual for a 200' tall ride.
Nitro's view includes a gorgeous, mature forest, where you can see for miles across the foothills, and a beautiful river winding through it all. I don't find Magnum's view especially exciting either with the ugly parking lot off to the left.

Ramp? Haha.

Want air on Magnum, ride in 1-3. You will be overloaded with air.

I agree 100%, the back is also amazing. I'm actually wondering if Coasterdude318 has ever ridden Magnum, or if he's just saying he has.

87 different coasters for this year and counting... 149 total!
*shakes head* I can't believe this has turned into a Maggie love/hate thread... (btw Maggie rules!!! esp in 1.3!!!)

Coasterdude's just enjoying the fact that anyone pays him attention, that's all.
His comments about Magnum don't even deserve to be qualified with a response....especially if he'd rank the thrice-rebuilt Excalibur as an execption to the rule. Without question, it ranks as one of the poorest-designed contraptions Arrow ever built.

No manufacturer bashing, or designer bashing please (yes that includes TOGO, Vekoma, and whatever you have against Arrow). Ron Toomer happens to be a very respected person to me. I think of him as a mentor. So if the jokes could be harmless please...
Why wouldn't you pick a mentor that could design decent coasters?

Oh Lord, Maggie Forceless? Ramps? No air? come on. And you compare it to Nitro? I will take my slamming ejector as as opposed to the floater you get on Nitro anyday.
I rode Maggie prolly 100 times this year and I rode Millie maybe 20. Not because of lines but Because after 13 years Maggie is still the best dan coaster on the planet with the most amazing ejector air on the planet.
It is very smooth for a 13 year old coaster. Too many people ae ust acustomed to smmoth as sil Intamins and B and M's. Well thast not true, at the end of the year Millie was running rougher then Maggie.
As for the view oh cme on now. You see woods on Nitro. You ride Maggie you see sky blending into sea with a stretch of beach extending all the way to cleveland which you can see at night along with Canada and the Lighthouse out in te lake.
Bar none one of most gorgeous views coaster or not in the world.
it burns my britches when people bash my maggie but IMO the only Hyper I have rode that even comes slose to Maggie is Phantom's Revenge. And the only coasters period hat come close to maggie are Phoenix, Twister, Phantom, and Shivering Timbers.

Drove by the park today (MiA, 11/02/02). ST is still there.
And I think I saw a tall, slender gal wrapped around one of the supports...not sure who or what that was, but there was definatly WAS something there!
