I have never had Jeff or any other Mod disrepect me in any way, I was banned quite a while ago but it was my own dumb fault and realized what I had said and in no way blamed anyone for it but myself. I have emailed jeff about 3 or 4 times and even have tonight and got back prompt and courteous replies everytime. Seems to me the only people who aren't treated this way are the ones who show no respect for Jeff or the Mods. I mean come on. And wow this topic hasn't gotten closed yet, although I am sure it will and rightfully so.

Greg,
I agree!
I used to also read RRC. By the time I left it, I had close to 55 names and topics in my killfile. I just got tired of updating it and decided it simply wasn't worth the effort to participate in something that I was no long happy with. I have made some great friends through RRC, but I felt it was time to move on. That is where this site came into play.
I never really have understood why people will whine about things they are not happy seeing on a site, yet continue to post on that very site. Perhaps they are just addicted and don't want to admit they can't stand being away from the site for a short time? Maybe that is one reason why they stick around? Who knows?
Oh wait, I get it! They are forced to read! I forgot about that factor. What was I thinking? =:^)
Freaklogic,
Thank you so much for proving my point!

Sean- I met you at the SFMM Goliath taping (I was the employee), and I must say I had fun and it was nice meeting you. But in defense of all the people unhappy with Jeff, I think I should reply.
Honestly, I love this site. Great news, great threads, great people...for the most part. I just feel the one thing dragging it down is the fact Jeff and other "senior" members are so rude at times. Take that element away, and I know I'd post here on a far more regular basis. And yes, we are forced to read, because there is no denying this site provides the best coaster news on the net.

um, yeah hi, i dont bow down to ANYONE. in order for people to get my respect, they have to treat me (or others) with respect. and with the way he has been treating others...HA! i dont think so. he has never done anything to me personally (nothing i can remember anyway), but it insults me when he is just nasty to others, end of story.

Then you know nothign freaklogic. Every time I have saw Jeff be rude it was completely warranted IMO. As far as "bowing down" I have never done such a thing. I only appreciate what we have here and hate to see you people, not Jeff, not the Mods, but you idiots come in here and do this every month and eventually ruin this place.
I have saw it happen before on all different kinds of forum sites, racing sites, car sites, railroad sites. I'll be damned if I see it happen here. If it wouldn't get rid of most of the posters I would be all about making this a members only site as then only the people who truly care and truly want to post valid posts woudl be around. But alas that would totally ruin the site as there are only 200 members right now but there were none before October so to say this site is dying is so far off its not even real.

2nd of all...i do know something, i know how to type first of all, i also know how to speak my mind, which i think i do very well.
but anyways, back on topic YET AGAIN.
i dont know about other people, but who sees here that JEFF has started a flame war with him being the way he is? i dont know about you, but for some reason it seems that jeff is against the TOS, you guys think about that...

Edit: Geez my bad didn't realize you just turned16, I have no chance in this argument, I rember how I was when I was 16. Just got your license, all this new found freedom, think you are king of the world, and you are big bad and tough behind your computer. Man you people make a 22 year old feel old. BTW Student teaching I realized everything I hated about myself when I was in High School, LOL. This post has made me realize why I chose to not pursue a career in education. I don't have the patience for it and it gets me way too worked up. Thanks for showing me the light FreakLogic, I was thinking about going back to teaching.

Umm... is it possible that we are feeling more brave than usual sitting at home behind our computer screens and eating Doritos? wow.....
Ha! That's the way I feel. It's pretty easy for people to hate on the JP behind the anonymity of the Internet. It's easy to hate on someone like me who puts it all out there. Surf my sites and you can figure out how much I donate to Red Cross, what my past four jobs have been, when my wife and I got married, view video of my reception, find out when I bought my house or who is sitting in my driveway this very minute. I'm pretty easy to get to know compared to some people. Am I bothered by the nonsense? Nah... hell, I'm used to it. It's been a good three months since someone told me what a jerk I was. I thought maybe I was losing my touch.
The greatest satisfaction I get is that they keep coming back for more. What a shame that advertising can't make me rich, because at this rate I'd have three times the track record by now, funded by the ad dollars. Keep helping me pay the bills, guys, I appreciate it.
A quick recap... and one of these days I'll just compile this stuff to one piece I can link to and close, allowing me to find better things to do with my limited time instead of responding to nonsense.
First off, there are certain liabilities involved with running a Web site (though I get the impression some of our members don't have even the slightest clue what responsibility is). The Digital Millennium Copyright Act allows the feds to go after people who propagate information about stealing software. It's probably not Constitutional, but it hasn't yet been tested by the courts. While the infraction discussed here was misunderstood (and shortly thereafter carried on in the other forum), it's all about covering your ass.
Second issue is libel and slander... sure, you can say whatever you like in this country, but if you think that you can't get sued for it in civil court, you could be making an expensive mistake, and not one I'm interested in making. That's one of the less clear reasons we moderate.
For you clueless people who think I owe you something, well, maybe you're not thinking at all. I don't care about feeling popular. Hell, my team of 17-year old volleyball players don't care about feeling popular. I didn't create CoasterBuzz to be popular, I created it to 1) Promote and make more visible the best quality coaster-related content on the Internet, from commercial or hobbyist sources and 2) Foster meaningful conversation that's something more than, well, everything we delete as listed in the TOS. Judging by the traffic generated to sites who post news (and unfortunately get knocked off for exceeding their bandwidth allocation, sorry guys), I'd say we do pretty well on the first, and generally pretty well on the second.
Yet another point of irony that the more people complain about my alleged pricketry, the more popular the site becomes.
If you've got something to say to me personally, by all means e-mail me. However, consider that if you're a jerk or a moron, I won't respond. Even if you're nice, I might not respond. Indeed, CoasterBuzz is a relatively small part of my life (a lot smaller than some people's it would appear), and I barely find enough time to get to the important stuff. If I don't answer your IM, it's probably because I'm not there, don't know you, have nothing to talk to you about, or am busy talking to someone I do know (you know, like friends and family... you do know about friends and family, right?).
I don't particularly care for people kissing my ass, but I certainly appreciate it that some people give me a "thanks" now and then for something that I could just as easily not provide for them. Sadly, I hear five times the negative. But whatever, those are not the stupid people who write the four-digit check to Sprint every month to keep this damn thing online.
For some entertainment, and a look into what I often feel, but don't say, enjoy this page (NC-17, please):

I'm not perfect. I don't strive to be. I also won't apologize for who I am. Take it or leave it. Either way, it's fun to be me.
And now back to actual coaster discussion...
