HyperSonic XLC... For Sale

It seems that HyperSonic XLC is on it's way out at PKD...

How many more coasters are going to leave the major parks this year?

More here.

Wow good call on PKD's behalf.

I survived a Japanese typhoon and the Togo flat ride of death!!!!!!

Just like the mad growth of the industry just a decade ago with the large amount of coasters being added on a yearly basis.

I wonder if its going to operate if it doesn't sell soon (like Demon Drop) or will it see a quick dismantling before the season starts?

X Factor

Yeah seriously this is getting ridiculous

Just like Demon Drop, I imagine they have it up for sale because of future plans to improve the park. I would guess that (as with Demon Drop) they will continue to opperate it until either someone buys it, or until it needs to be moved to make way for the future of PKD.

For sale, not being scrapped.

Being moved to another CF park, not leaving.

-SOB

Loop being removed to change/get new trains that don't destroy the rest of the ride.

Probably not gone for good.

Being improved and reopened by the Columbus Zoo in 2008.

Coney Island being updated, not the end of it as amusement.
"Immediate availability" ... I always thought this thing looked like it could be picked up and moved out of the park over the course of a weekend ...

... sort of sad to see it go, although in 4 visits to PKI in the last couple of years, only been open twice. Great launch, awful remainder of the ride ... typical S&S garbage. But, it'll make a nice attraction for a smaller park looking for some big time thrills ... although I'm not sure how many of those are around and looking stateside?

HyperSonic would be a good choice for MIA. I'm not just saying that because it's my home park. I though that 4 years ago when I first saw it on Ultamate Thrill. When i first saw it i'v always though it would fit perfect their. It's not to tall or fast but still fun.

Keep your head high and the coaster's higher. *** Edited 12/15/2006 1:02:10 AM UTC by Coasterkid85***

OH SHUT UP for the love of God MiA is NOT getting anything on this scale. They are doing just fine with the lineup they have, the park is making money, their attendance is increasing and they would be much better off getting some new waterslides or a new wavepool than this very expensive to operate clunker.

If you had any sense in your head you'd realize that if it was FOR SALE that means it's being sold by Cedar Fair. If Cedar Fair's selling the ride, IT AIN'T GOIN' TO MIA!!

What Brett said. If Hypersonic were headed to MiA, it wouldn't be listed for sale, they'd just move it.

"You seem healthy. So much for voodoo."

Yeah all these parks are selling there 15 plus million dollar investments

Yo Impulse-ive MIA already has 3 wave pools how many do they need. I like wave pools but not 4. And another thing the water park space is full, they have been making water rides in the park. I want to know the new ride. Sorry i cant wait till the 2007 season. Im gonna ride the coaster's and swim in the 3 wave pools not 4. They already have a full water park, and barly an amusment park. They have 1 thrill and you have to pay to ride it. Lay of my case, what PKD your home park or somthing. it'll make a nice attraction for a smaller park looking for some big time thrills, hay arent you the one that said that Impulse-ive. What do you think your a big boy saying shut up, does your mom no you talk like that. Hippacrite lots. *** Edited 12/15/2006 1:37:38 AM UTC by Coasterkid85***

I believe that this trend right now is that Park operators are weeding through the "crap" and gettig rid of what they are losing money on.

Fact of the matter is, is that as technology improves, the high-expense thrill ride of only a few years ago has become a headache of today.

These won't be the last major rides being sold or removed.

We may see the Deja Vu's and X get removed here sometime soon as well as some other dated high-maintenace rides.
