How Long Will TTD Hold Its Records?

DRAGSTER IS TESTING RIGHT NOW ... http://www.cedarpoint.com/public/inside_park/webcam/camera2.cfm

When it will open to the public is still under consideration but it is currently under testing operations.

I drove on over the Cedar Point today and spoke with some members of management. They told me that the Hydraulic motor is now fixed but they have encountered other problems. Many power failures and problems with the brake fins are keeping the ride from being open. They could not establish a clear opening date at this time.

You had to get that post in their somehow someway didn't you?

Excellent, maybe the idiots on the local news will soon be able to shut-up about the ride being down.

Do they have to talk about a new coaster? Especially if its been open a month? I mean its cool that they are talking about it, but, I hate when they talk about a certain thing over and over again.

If you were to throw out roller coasters that do not have complete circuits that would leave Cedar Point at 15 and MM at 14.

Cedar Point would lose Wicked Twister and MM would lose Deja vu and superman.

IMHO if it is incomplete it is just a thrill ride.

Does it really matter if S:TE is a coaster or not? Is it fun? Do you enjoy riding it? I don't think it matters what it is called.
I am a VERY new member of coasterbuzz and I also work as a ride operator on Power Tower and I must say that alot of what this Jaisen15 person has said is BULL. The mechanics don't tell us much about the rides let alone tell the public. There were some tests that were ran earlier today but as far as being open, I have no idea when.

For those of you who don't think it's testing just look at the web cams. There's no reason for half the park to be there if it's not.
theres people that have never seen it and just want to stare at it.

Uhh, ok here..

We have tons of people just staring at a broken down ride.

People do that. They sit there, talk about it, take photos, and stare at it. I would if I havent seen something like TTD.

I'm not even going to argue.

They don't all mass up at once to take pictures and look at the ride. I was so lucky to be there the day after Dragster's launch cable broke. Nobody sat in the bleachers. They just walked by and cursed that it was down.

What are you talking about? I was saying that they look at it and take photos of it. I was meaning hen it is testing.

Just found it odd that this was in 2003, and now we're in 2005 and the answer has come. So how long will Kingda Ka hold it's records?;)

Hopefully for a while. I enjoyed TTD because it was one of a kind. Not as a rocket, but as one with those dimensions. Now Kingda Ka comes along and the designers only have the gall to add a camelback and nothing else. That's a cheap shot. People complain because all TTD is is an up-and-down ride, albeit an amazing one. Kingda Ka doesn't do too much for me, although I will have to ride it. I don't know. I can imagine the next of these record breakers will be Kingda Ka's layout, only bigger, and maybe with an overbanked turn or another hill. I'm quite happy with non-record breakers like Storm Runner.

I dont really understand, wont a ride with almost the exact same layout except taller, faster, and longer, be just as good if not better than the original? It's obviously not anywhere near as big of a deal as TTD was, but aside from the OTSRs, Kingda Ka should be one hell of a ride. TTD sure is.
