Holiday World...A Flawless Park?

A couple new rides wouldn't hurt, and if they're up 22% ...;)

And I do have one place they could improve; an escalator up the hill from Legend to Raven. It does get a bit tiresome walking up the the Raven every 45 minutes or so. ( I know - keep your lazy, over-wieght enthusaists comments to yourself :) )

Paula - Any guestimate as to how much of the HW door we geeks make up? I know it would be tough (nearly impossible) to figure, but I've been curious about it for a while.

Hey it's just my opinion but personally i think that a park with two good woodies, nothing else and is just making themselve seem cute and nice to make up for their tiny park in Hicksville USA.

Eh, don't worry yourself about Mr. PatMan......Every discussion has to have its token nay-sayer, after all. It's not his fault somebody peed in his Cheerios this morning.

I dont eat cheerios or breakfast.

PatMan, it sounds like you are starved for attention. How about you tell us how much IOA sucks next? Only three good coasters there (well, four IMHO).

I went to IOA and loved it, It's a great park with great coasters, but it has something that HW lacks, other good rides such as spidy and three amazing water rides.

Track Record: 110 and counting.....

Ya know Patman, Im about to put you on total ignore.

Let's see, IOA=15 million visitors at probably a average of $40 a ticket built by corprate funding on a if you build it they will come and we will increase our stock value to our sharholders.

HW= A park that was getting a few visitors due mainly because of it's location of Santa Claus. A family that studied and reasearched what they could do with what they had and changed to a holiday theme with a coaster named the firecracker and a fourth of July section. A family that took everything they had and took a chance and built RAVEN in the hopes that if they built it we would come. A family that dose many things for the comunity they live in. A family that added a world class waterpark and then proceeded to blow us away with another world class bigger and better wood coaster.

A family that I quote from the CEO himself, "The more people that come, The more we will add!" Sounds like smart buisness sence to me seeings how many parks are in trouble like Six Flags ($380 million in the red)

So if you can't go to a park like HW or one that dosn't have 10 coasters and not have a good time, I see it as a personal problem as I could probably ride two coasters at such a park 50 times where as the bigger parks would almost be impossible to ride each of the 10 coasters once.

Chuck, who meant this as constructive critisism but also sees this as PatMan trying to get a rise out of people. Sorry, It won't work on me, I know what a Gem HW is and will go back if there are 50 Patmans raising a ruckus.

Riding two coasters 50 times would be great if no one is in the park, but that isn't the way things are i choose any major park in the country over this "Gem".

BTW Pat Man as far as water rides. Holiday world has the best log flume there is IMHO

Come to our homepark out here in Oakland, Children's Fairyland. Our coaster is Kiddie Coaster. Or two best and only flat rides? Alice's Tea Cup and a Minature Ferris Wheel that seats about 10 people at full capacity. Now if you want to take that over HW, then let's trade places.

Pat Man must be good friends with 2Hostyl :)

Just because a large attraction is in the middle of nowhere doesn't make it Hicksville. Should've seen Florida in the 1970s, mainly Orlando.

First of all Honsee feels that Holiday world is quite bad, 2 good coasters (woodies)

any one that disagrees w/me has no idea aboot parks or coasters and mabey they should step back and take their buzzings someplace else because there is no place for them

OK, I may be bad, but that is just stupid

How come you don't have Raven or Legend on your track record PatMan?

-----------------
You can hear the laughter, you can hear the mighty roar. From the brickyard down in Indy to the white Chicago shore. It's a rollin', twistin', turnin' and might we both suggest. You get you fanny ridin' on the Cornball Express!

Well first i refuse to pay the twenty dollars to use the track record and second have no reason to drive really far to hicksville to ride, just two good roller coasters, with nothing else of interest in the area.

Track Record: 110 and counting.....

So, in other words, Pat(the dork)Man007 you have never been there so you are just talking straight out of your backside orifice...

Gotta love idiots!

Posting, "Me too" like some brain dead AOLer. I ought to to the world a favor, and cap you like old yeller...

Hey Patman I'm sorry you feel that way about my state. Yeah its somewhat hicksville but what would America be if all Indiana was a big city. I love Indiana its not crowded on the roads no killer traffic. Many parks within a decent drive. And fairly low cost housing.

Looking at your track record I can see that you haven't been on either coasters or not even at the park. But hey you could of just not updated I have no clue. Now I kinda thought that Holiday World would be a nice little park when I went. I had no clue what to expect from a little park becuase I have always been to big parks. But now I see what everyone sees about it. Its wonderful seeing Pat Koch at the entrance greeting everyone. The ticket lady actually had a little conversation with us and was very friendly something that I don't see too often at other parks. The operators at the Raven were friendly and just let us stay in our seats or move to another one if we liked and go ride again 4 consecutive rides. That was fun!

Now I don't quite get why you called them being nice and cute just becuase they found a way too be different than other parks. Would you be happier if they just not talked and just answer your questions with a dull yeah and walk away. Would you rather have them leave trash on the ground and not upkeep their rides and have them break down every hour. I certainly would not. And I bet thats the reason why they got this increase was poeple telling their friends how good and friendly and clean this park was and probably some help from the advertisement they have been doing.

I could have ridden those 2 coaster as if the night would never end but it had too and I was sad. I didn't even get to have night rides on them. I had 12 rides on raven and 5 on Legend. Thats pretty good considering we spent 2 hours at the water park and was only there for about 8 hours. Thats about as many rides I got at Cedar Point When I went for a FULL day and a half. Yeah I'd say CP has better coasters but only steal. They only have 2 woodies and only one is good. But not as good as either as those. And I won't comment on Mean Streak because there are people who like it.

Now I'll let you form your own opinions but don't say your negative opinions until you have been there.

I say my negative opions because i have no interest in visiting you little park.

And obviously none of us have any respect for an opinion about a park you've never been to.
