Holiday World Announcements- 10 Days!

Hey where's Patman? By my clock he should have made a dumb comment by now... Anyway, I hope that they add something big or fun so I'll have to make room for it in my schedule next summer. If not next year, the year after.

You can hear the laughter, you can hear the mighty roar. From the brickyard down in Indy to the white Chicago shore. It's a rollin', twistin', turnin' and might we both suggest. You get you fanny ridin' on the Cornball Express!

Of course they CAN build a drop tower. I don't know if they would though. A S&S would be great over in the Fourth of July section of the park. It could be called Firecraker! : p

PkI FaNaTiC - an S&S tower's capacity seems a little low to me, plus its not quite something the entire family can ride together. While its always a possibility, I have a feeling we'll see something else this year.

Count your blessings, man! (Let's hope he's gone for good! :) )

Who said S&S? It could bee a HUSS drop twer which has a capacity of 1250 pph. And with the success of adding a drop tower to family parks like Canobie Lake and Funtown, I don't think it's a bad move at all.

I was thinking S&S because it'e more "explosive" to be launched up and down. Seems like it'd fit the name better.

Although that's a snazy idea heard before, wouldn't you think a better Drop Tower would be an Intamin 2nd/3rd generation tower near the entrance of the park... ya know in CHRISTMAS village...... and theme it to... hmmm something *tall*, sorta like a *POLE*... oh yeah what's that place where Santa Clause lives?.... THE NORTH POLE! ahaha

I know a drop ride might not be the best bet for such a *family* park, but if they wanted to add a thrill ride instead of a coaster someday (2005 maybe?), then I think this would be a great route to go!

As I said previously, while there's always a remote possibility that HW would eventually add a drop tower of some sort, how likely do you *really* think that is considering they feel speed slides are not "family friendly."

Brilliant deduction Moosh!

I completely agree with you on that. In all seriousness I think that there will be additions that the family can enjoy. Likely I would expect a dark ride (I could be wrong on that.) and either a carousel or ferris wheel.

Well, if speed slides aren't family friendly enough, I'm forced to *wonder* if Will has ever ridden Raven at night....;).. Friendly for THIS family....apparently IN has a *thing* for wild woodies, must be something in the *pop*....ROFL.

There's PLENTY of great stuff available that HW could use that would "fit right in"...anybody got a Mangels Whip for sale...?

You guys crack me up... :)

Maybe I should post some more clues. I should have time to do that on Monday.

Or is it just too cruel?

This is my wish list:
A Ride Package from Chance:
Carousel (Christmas themed)
Giant Wheel
Yo Yo

Something to that effect.
The park wasn't sure if they were going to be able to build a new ride next year, and then their attendance soared and found that they NEEDED to expand to meet the demand

jp (the other jp)....let's skip the Chance YoYo and go for "the big time". Telescoping "trunk", lighting package, HIGH capacity.....Zierer!

bill, making *waves* again....

So, chris is saying he thinks the new attraction at HW will be Devo-lution....an *operating version* of that cool (high-capacity) ride at SFGAdv....lol. Alternatively, a ride themed out with the song "Whip it"...Mangels always returns!

bill, a real "Mangler", no flower-pot-head....

I like the idea of a red, white and blue for a S&S Power tower type of ride in the 4th of July area. (2)Turbo and a (1)space shot would be a great addition to the park.

Other ideas: Carrousel, Ferris Wheel or a mine train coaster or perhaps a Wild Mouse coaster also.

Breaking News: Holiday World & Splashin' Safari have announced their new coaster for next year: Shock Wave! A 7 looping coaster, this ride will take the place of all of Splashin' Safari and give them one of the worst reputations ever!:):):)

Arrow, even the straight parts of our coasters hurt.

Had a blast at the GOCC event.. They were giving quadruple rides near the end of the ERT... 4 times in a row on the raven and legend-the CLOSEST thing to heaven! Sorry I didnt see you Legendary...

Also, from my conversation with Pat, I think we can pretty much rule out the dark ride for next year. Oh well, the DRFHW society will have to work harder next year!!!!!

She also made some statements that basically gave away the identity of one of the rides, but I won't post them here...I dont want to ruin the surprise this week

Paula and company, thanks for the hospitality yet again. I definitely know which event to attend and avoid all of the crowds... Bethany was fairly tame this time.. She was pretty surprised she had become an instant celebrity. So many people knew who she was.

Just FYI.. my buddy at Santa's Lodge mentioned that they are already 1/4 booked for SRM 2003. So, if you plan on staying there you might want to book now. Plan on there being at least 1,000 people at that event next year!

My guesses for 03-

Family slide complex-Splashin' Safari

Pirate ship (ghost themed) in Halloween area

Firecracker themed S&S ride in 4th of July area

I hear a train a comin'

I was thinking... if there was ever a park that made an upcharge ride free, it would be HW. The pirate ship doesn't seem like a good choice.
