Holiday World 2015

I completely forgot about Rip Ride Rockit being Maurer-Sohne. Oops haha. I don't know how that passed through my head.

When I described all the footers in the field, this is what I was talking about:

Matt, Paula I know you will read this and I just wanna say 3 words.

I think you mean "escalator".

That was an interesting read, particularly:

Dubois County Herald said:

While she (Paula) said the last six days of the campaign are already written, every other entry is written the night before it’s posted online.

“It keeps the process organic and allows me to really have some fun with it,” she explained.

and

Dubois County Herald said:

“Every single clue has been phenomenal. Obviously, I know what to look for, but some of the clues have been very clever,” Eckert said. “You look at, like, Day 7 or Day 19 and you go ‘Oh, that’s great.’”

Well, the Children gathering round is us. And on #7, sand?

In literally less than a week, construction has been booming. So much land has been cleared it's amazing. I stood over next to a footer just below the platform for Hyena Falls and there was a footer about 6-10 feet wide. All the footers have rods sticking out in square formation, and from mind (please correct me if I'm wrong.) Intamin likes to use boxy supports. Which worries me.

I notice alliteration with "s" and usage of the word/idea of "air". Would an S&S be out of the question?

"New World" means steel, almost positive. But I wonder if it could be referencing Rocky Mountain? Just wondering if anyone thinks a RMC Coaster is possible for HW.

Lastly, can't it be possible that this 66 Days thing is hinting at the entire expansion which includes multiple rides, highlighted by a coaster?
It seems to me that Hyena Falls desperately needs some companion pieces -- they already have bathrooms, an Oasis, food sales, etc. over there.

My guess is a screamin' swing by S&S, a B&M hyper, and some more water slides. :)

I too thought that "New World" could mean an entire new "land". If this weren't Holiday World we were talking about, with clearly defined themes for the Dry side and a clear "African nomenclature" for the wet side, I'd definitely say that was what we were looking at.

However, this being HW and Paula, I'm sure all of the hints, puns and subterfuge will be made clear in good time.

Except that Holiday World has come right out and said that their expansion will be in Thanksgiving. History suggests that Holiday World will misdirect, mislead, confuse, omit, and obfuscate, but I have *never* known them to lie.

If you guys could actually see the footers and clearing you would know it's a steel coaster. No RMC or new wooden coaster.

I've been of the opinion that a Powder Keg-esque coaster by S&S would be a great addition to Holiday World since about halfway through my first ride on it the year it opened.

The trick was to surrender to the flow.

Or maybe a new coaster and a great S&S flat ride.

Would love to see an even bigger Screamin' Swing from S&S. Skyhawk is quietly the best ride at CP. They are very thrilling and family friendly at the same time, and most likely affordable? Few million?

Not if you count the maintenance, I'm sure.

Here's what I think so far about HW 2015. Some sort of massive Steel Coaster. (The footers are huge, so either it's high up or the trains are heavy. But the footers I got a good look at yesterday seem to be in a way that indicates a drop. I don't know just a guess.) Some new Games stalls to be added. Seafood restaurant, and a flat ride or two, or maybe an addition into Splashin' Safari.

How many times do we have to talk about the size of the footers not being a good indicator?

Something halfway between Firechaser Express and PowderKeg, with the theming level of Verbolten, graphics and sound depicting the arrival of Europeans in the New World....well, the southern Europeans anyway... ;~P

I'm just saying, most of the taller roller coasters I've seen, have larger footers, that have larger supports, to hold more mass. It wasn't every support, it was one that I saw in a series of footers. Not all were massive. But this one was. For it to be there it seems like it's going to have to soar over Hyena Falls. So it's gonna need some height.

I wouldn't mind a Zamperla drop ride. I've ridden two so far, and they're actually pretty fun.

I could easily see something like Dollywood's new family coaster going in at Holiday World. Just a wild guess.

Holiday World has gotten in the groove of breaking records in the fields. I'm highly expecting something top notch. They're always trying to get a head in the competition in some ways. Hell, they broke their own record with the longest water coaster. The Voyage still holds the record for the most amount of airtime on a woody. I'm expecting some sort of record to be broken. But who knows really, maybe these are just pipe dreams.
