Hey Everyone..

THis is my first time on Coasterbuzz, I love the site already. I got a question about Cedar Point I just came back from Cedar Point about 2 Weeks ago and I was wondering if they actually had plans to remove Top Thrill Dragster because of it breaking down so much. I was told that by one of the workers and I was a little disapointted by it. Can anyone tell me if that is true?

My sig was edited because it was more than three lines.

It took me until mid-Aug last year to ride it once. And this year, I've ridden it 5 times. So this year's performance is greatly improved over last year's.

They'll keep it up.

Welcome to CoasterBuzz! I'd be willing to bet my life savings that Cedar Point has no plans to remove Top Thrill Dragster. It's a $25M dollar ride, and it's only 2 years old. :)

I've often wondered from time to time, how to write good poetry- and make it all... Work.
Don't lose any sleep, its not going anywhere.

Thanks,
DMC

Just so we can say we gave you fair warning ;) read the TOS and lurk (read w/o posting) a bit. There're some subtleties and nuances of our community and it's real easy to get bashed if you don't follow the written and unwritten rules.

Hobbes: "What's the point of attaching a number to everything you do?"
Calvin: "If your numbers go up, it means you're having more fun."

No, But welcome to Coasterbuzz anyway!

I seriously doubt that Cedar Point would remove any ride, much less a ride that they got so much free publicity for.

May I help you out since you are new? There are many cultlike behaviors associated with Coasterbuzz that you must learn to accept if you want to access the fine content and information available here. I too was once in your shoes and can clearly remember how difficult it was to know the unwritten rules without in fact breaking them and facing the wrath of purple kool-aide drinking membership. Unfortunately for you my friend, you have indeed committed the BIGGEST of all the unwritten rules that the Coasterbuzz community holds so dear.

The most important unwritten rule is to NEVER EVER say anything that could even remotely be interpreted that Cedar Point in any way has failed to meet expectations. This is especially true when approaching the TTD subject. You are supposed to pretend that TTD is so great that any downtimes are not only warranted, but in fact do not even exist except for the weather related shutdowns, which are of course no fault of Cedar Point. At some point in time you will be told by an overwhelming majority that TTD in fact runs 90% of the time---or BETTER. You can choose to use logic and overwhelming evidence (from trip reports and your own experiences) to clearly and correctly argue that TTD does indeed STILL break down all the time, but you will be unmercifully refuted by club membership who do not subscribe to the use of logic and evidence when it comes to beloved Cedar Point.

May I suggest you spend your time talking about any shortcomings of the Six Flags chain (Magic Mountain is always the preferred and most deserving)? This will keep you in the good graces of those who lurk on these pages.

ttd is back up and running

Hi, Dr. Nick!

LOL Jeffery...

Never heard of purple Kool aid, then again, I'm not part of any Joe Cool coaster groups :(

Fate is the path of least resistance.

Funny, I don't abide by those rules. I like six flags parks (SFA over SFGAm, Gasp!), and I don't really care about TTDs down time. I'll be going to the point for the first time in two weeks, and we'll make a decision then.

I don't understand how some people brand the entire board for the thoughts of some. I make my own opinions based on my likes. I like rough wood (I'm actually more excited about SoB than TTD, sick isn't it?), Arrows, Vekomas, and the only coaster I've ever gotten sick on was a B&M.

I hate Raptor's breaks!

Love TTD But hate the waits....

Love Wicked Twister

and Mantis crushes my nuts!

I might be the only one who thinks Mean Streak is a very fun ride. I like it because its a lot longer then the other Wooden Rollercoasters I have been on.

Hell, I don't even like Cedar Point.

I'm so punk.

I'd imagine that if you read the major posters on this site (as opposed to the Pee-ons;)), you may find a different story. And when people do this, I think they often associate other peoples oppinions with what they preceive(sp?) to be Jeffs opinions. I disagree with alot of Jeffs opinions that he has stated on coasters. Thats why its an Opinion...

We just get sick of hearing people whine about TTDs downtime, and how people thing its the only one that goes down...

And maddie, you are SO not punk!;)

As rarely as I post, who knew it would be to say that I also love Mean Streak? I live in freakin' Boston and CP's still my top park...sheesh.

Oh, by the way, the Kool-Aid is cold and there are cups lined up in the mind control room. Please take one as you enter.
